"But you will never just be a blip in time Ianto Jones, not for me"

The words still rattled around Ianto Jones's head as he drove the large black SUV back to the hub. The handsome face of Captain Jack Harkness was looking behind gleefully. Jack was laughing, hysterically, at a joke Gwen had repeated from the back seat. She was slumped against one of them, legs spread across the other, hugging Rhys. His sleepy form was curled up, head on her lap. Jack and Gwen had been in stitches as soon as they'd all left the hospital. With Rhys falling asleep almost instantly. Ianto thought that all this excitement must have worn Rhys out, he was a simple man after all. He wished that would just happen to him but after Jack's words, after knowing that he'd heard, sleep wont happen tonight, which would obviously make things worse.

Ianto could feel Jack's eyes on him - just for a second - then Jack turned away, back to laughing, back to being alive. Ianto swerved left, he'd almost missed the turn back to the hub. No one else noticed, he was in his head too much recently. He didn't like it and Ianto knew Jack would ask, like he always did. He'd feel better, happy and then something else would happen either at work or to Jack. Back into the hole Ianto would go and he knew it. Last time Ianto felt like this, Lisa was alive. That meant only one thing. Ianto was in love with Jack. And that scared him.

The black SUV pulled up next to the Wales Millennium Centre, everything was the same as it was 3 days ago. Groups of people walked by, all in their own worlds.

Jack slams the door. "Earth to Ianto, Ianto Jones."

That charming american voice wafted its way into Ianto's ears. "Sorry Sir, was out of it for a second" Ianto smiles towards Jack but doesn't move. "Gwen managed to get Rhys out yet?"

"Oh yeah" and Jacks gone, strutting around to the side of the SUV.

There was some panting and muttering before Ianto felt the SUV become exceedingly lighter. The dashingly majestic head of Captain Jack Harkness sprang into view at the window.

"Alright Ianto. See you inside." Laughing he took off, that blue coat of his swishing around him. This made Ianto smile.

Ianto drove the SUV back into the underground bunker. He jumped out and locked the door. Now what, he thought. He could just stand there, just for a little while. It wouldn't raise too many questions. He was already sure that Jack and Gwen would be oblivious. Yes he loved Jack but they both knew it was one way. Or did they? Jack's face, that smile, came into Ianto's head again. What if Jack loved him more than he let on? No Ianto, you can't do this. Not again, its just casual. Ianto checked that he'd locked the SUV. Not that anyone would get to it anyhow and set off back up to the Hub.
