Hey everyone. Thank you all for your patience, and sorry again to keep you waiting. The Edolas arc has at least five more chapters left, including this one, so things are really starting to kick up.
I like to remind all of you again that I plan to continue this story and update it once a month, it may be a bit more difficult for more than one time per month because school starts up in a few weeks and I have work and other stories to work on, but I promise to keep the updates coming.

Saving Edolas
Night had fallen onto the world of Edolas. People from all across the land, in various towns, watched up at the night sky as the Dragon Chain Cannon continued to push the floating lacrima island closer to Extalia. At the rate the lacrima island was moving, it looked as though an object was coming in on re-entry.
The glowing red lacrima island did not go unnoticed by certain felines in Extalia as it was heading in their direction.
"It's been confirmed." A group of Exceed soldiers reported to four elder Exceeds, as well as the highly decorated Exceed Queen sitting on top of her large throne. "The humans have attached the so-called 'Dragon Chain Cannon' to the floating island holding the lacrima, with the intent of employing it as a bomb against Extalia. Regretfully, I must also report that Sir Nichiya and his battalion have been transformed into a lacrima. They are currently being held hostage. Extalia is in grave danger."
"This is an outrage!" An elder Exceed exclaimed.
"I never thought the humans would resort to such heinous methods." An elder female Exceed stated.
"Additionally, a fallen and two humans have come to town urging everyone to abandon their homes and evacuate immediately." The Exceed soldier continued to inform. "The citizens have devolved into a mob! What would you have us do, my queen?"
The overly decorated Exceed queen stood up from her throne. "I will deal with this matter, personally."
The elders stood up in surprise. "Your highness!"
"You cannot be serious!"
"What do you intend to do, your majesty!?"
"It's time… to end the charade." The Queen answered with a regretful tone of voice.
Lacrima Island
Lady, Gajeel, and Happy still stood on the rapid-speeding lacrima island, along with the massive, brawny, exceed known as Panther Lily. Lady and Gajeel had shocked looks on their faces while Happy's was more one of panic.
"Gajeel!" Happy exclaimed in his panic tone of voice. "Quick! Use your Dragon Slayer Magic to shatter the lacrima!"
"Can't! No time for that now! This puppy's speeding up!" Gajeel exclaimed.
Lady then noticed something odd in the sky "Guys, what the hell is that?!" She pointed upward.
A bit above the closing gap between the lacrima island and Extalia was a bright surge of red light. It would appear dark clouds we're forming around the bright red light as it began to swirl and grow larger.
Gajeel, Happy, and Lady looked surprised while Panther Lily appeared to be more shocked. "That can't…. that's an anima portal!"
"Anima?" Lady wondered. "Isn't that the same thing that pulled all of us here to Edolas?"
"Yeah!" Happy confirmed. "That's what turned everyone in Fairy Tail into a giant lacrima!"
"Then why the hell is one opening up right here?!" Gajeel questioned.
"No, something's wrong with this one!" Lily pointed out, observing the dark red glow around it. "This magic, this energy, it's unlike anything I've seen before!"
"It smells like a mix between blood and crap!" Gajeel tried to explain, as he never smelled any kind of energy like that before.
"I've seen that kind of thing before before. It's demonic energy!" Lady exclaimed with wide eyes.
"WHAT?!" Happy questioned with white-circled eyes.
Meanwhile, the Legion continued to fly at the Lacrima island at high-speeds with Natsu and Dante sitting at the head of the creature, with Lucy, Grey, Modeus, Erza, Lisanna, and Coco riding behind them. They saw the dark red Anima opening up in between the closing gap.
"Come on! Let's go!" Natsu exclaimed.
"What is that opening up in the sky?!" Lucy questioned as they all saw the dark red swirling light.
"That's an Anima, but I haven't seen anything like that before!" Coco replied.
"Its been infused with demonic energy!" Modeus said. "Nelo Angelo's doing most likely!"
"Yeah, that's an opening to the Demon World." Dante stated. "If we can't stop this, not only will all our friends die, but a hole will be torn into Hell itself and Edolas will have its own Armageddon!"
"We ain't gonna let that happen!" Natsu exclaimed with determination.
"Got that right bro!" Dante agreed as they flew closer, but the gap between the two floating islands was getting smaller by the second.
The Legion gave a mighty roar as it slammed right into base of the floating island to stop it, but all it really seemed to do was slow it down. The red energy blew with the wind as everyone on top of the Legion was enveloped in it.
"GIVE IT EVERYTHING YOU'VE GOT!" Coco ordered her Legion as it tried with all its strength to keep it back.
"We're barley slowing this thing down!" Lisanna exclaimed.
"This wont work! It's got too much mass and momentum!" Grey exclaimed as well.
"If we fall, we'll do so with the rest of Magnolia!" Erza stated with determination evident in her voice.
"Don't worry, we'll save you guys!" Lucy exclaimed to everyone in the lacrima, despite that they couldn't hear her.
Modeus looked towards Coco. "How long will that Anima portal remain open?!"
"An Anima can only stay open for a few minutes before it closes automatically!" Coco answered.
"Understood, if we can keep the lacrima from colliding within that time-frame, then the portal will close?!" Modeus questioned, to which Coco nodded in confirmation.
Natsu and Dante both heard it. They looked towards each other and nodded as they ran straight up towards the base of the speeding lacrima island.
"Come on! Out of my way!" Natsu exclaimed as he grabbed onto the lacrima base and tried to push it back with his own strength. An orange Dragon Slayer magic circle formed at his hands as he tried to push it back.
Dante began to push it back as well. His own demonic strength was able to slow it down a bit, but the lacrima showed no signs of stopping. "Come on you piece of crap!" Dante shouted in frustration as he poured his strength forward.
"Natsu! Dante!"
They both looked up slightly and saw Happy flying down towards them. He stopped in the air as the blue cat looked towards his first and best friend.
"Natsu… I'm sorry… I didn't mean…" He said, referring to when he and Carla accidentally led everyone into that trap in the mines.
A smirk formed on Natsu's face "Come on, give me a hand buddy? Would ya?" He said in a tone that indicated no hard feelings.
Happy seemed truly touched by this. Dante spoke up as well. "Come on you fur ball." The red-clad Devil Hunter spoke up with his own smirk. "You wanna help save our friends, or what?"
This earned a smile from Happy. "Aye sirs!" He flew down to join his friends in keeping the island back.
Meanwhile, Gajeel, Lady, and Lily we're still on the top of the island seeing this whole situation take place. Gajeel's own Dragon Slayer hearing was able to pick up what everyone down below said, so he knew what was going on now.
"Hey Lady…" He spoke to her.
"Yeah, I kind of figured it out." Lady was smart; she could piece two-and-two together and could only guess what was happening now.
They both looked to each other and smirked. "Alright, rain check!" Gajeel spoke to Lily as he and Lady ran to help their friends push back the Lacrima.
Lily was obviously shocked by this. "Don't run from me!" He exclaimed in anger
"Don't worry, we'll finish this later." Gajeel assured. "Just let us stop this thing first, then I'll beat you!"
"You can't!" Lily argued. "Imbeciles!"
"You're the 'idiot' you overgrown hair ball!" Lady exclaimed as she pointed upward. "Do you see that?!" She pointed to the demonic energy infused Anima. "That thing is the end of your world! If we can't stop this rock from crashing that's it! It's over for us and your whole world!"
Lily looked shocked. "But I… Edolas will change forever. But it doesn't matter, because none of us will live to see the aftermath."
Lady rolled her eyes. "Don't be so pessimistic, cat."
Gajeel seemed in agreement as he pointed towards Lilly with a confident smirk. "We ain't dying! When this is over, you're coming to Fairy Tail. You'll be my cat even if I have to drag you there!" Gajeel then chuckled as he jumped down to join his friends.
"See you at the end of this, we'll finish our fight later." Lady said to Lily with a smile as she jumped down as well.
Lily ran to the edge and looked down to where his two opponents just went. He had a conflicted look on his face, but it was stopped when he heard a rumble.
The lacrima island was getting ever closer to Extalia, less than a few yards away as the larger floating island's base was starting to get pushed back and the area closest to the lacrima island broke apart from the momentum.
Grey, Modeus, Lucy, Lisanna, Erza, even Coco joined Dante, Natsu, and Happy in trying to push the lacrima back, but all they did was just slow it down.
"IT'S NOT WORKING!" Lisanna exclaimed.
"WE'RE STILL GONNA COLLIDE!" Grey exclaimed as well.
"NO!" Lucy shouted.
"IT CANNOT END THIS WAY!" Modeus exclaimed to.
"GIVE IT EVERYTING YOU'VE GOT!" Erza exclaimed also.
Natsu growled as he tried to push back as well. Dante growled also as a red demonic aura formed around him. "NO! IT WON'T END!"
There was a brief flash of red in between the two floating islands, and for a minute it looked as though the Lacrima Island was being pushed back. Dante had transformed into his Devil Trigger and began to push with Natsu and Happy by his side.
"I AM NOT LOOSING MY FAMILY AGAIN!" The Devil Trigger Dante exclaimed. "COME ON! WE CAN DO THIS!"
"GOT THAT RIGHT BUDDY!" Natsu yelled in agreement as he pushed back as well. "DON'T GIVE UP! WE CAN STILL PUSH THIS THING BACK!"
"AYE SIR!" Happy pushed with them as well.
Erza was pushing with all her might as well when Gajeel came to her right and pushed to, Lady was at Erza's left and began to push back the lacrima along with them.
"Lady? Gajeel?!" Erza questioned. "Why are you down here?! You should be using your magic to turn the others back to normal! Get back up there!"
"You wanna deal with the black cat be my guest!" Gajeel said in comic anger.
"We don't have time to do it!" Lady told Erza. "Right now we have to push this thing back!"
"They're right!" Grey exclaimed as he, Lisanna, Lucy, and Modeus began to push back with all their might. "Just push!"
"Come on! We have to stop it!" Lisanna exclaimed as well.
"If we don't… everyone in Magnolia will be lost forever!" Lucy exclaimed.
"We will not allow that to happen! Come on! Push with everything you have!" Modeus shouted as they all continued to try and hold it back.
Panther-Lily looked down from his point and was more than surprised to see one of his own comrades down there trying to push the lacrima back as well.
"Coco!? What are you doing?!"
The young girl looked up to see her friend. "Lily! You're still in one piece! I'm glad!" She said in a sincere smile. "Who needs eternal magic power, when you can have eternal smiles?"
"What kind of nonsense is that?! You have to get out of here Coco!" Lily yelled towards her. "These people can't stop Extalia's destruction!"
Natsu heard every word. "Don't be so sure! If there's one thing Fairy Tail wizards always prove, its that nothing's impossible!"
"You said it!" the Devil Trigger Dante said in agreement. "So lets do the impossible!" They both continued to push back the lacrima with all their might.
Happy pushed as well with all his strength. "Aye, aye sir!"
Lily was surprised to hear this sort of conviction and determination from them. He was not expecting any of this.
As the floating lacrima continued to push deeper into Extalia, cracks formed around that part of the island as it creeped in ever closer. Not to mention the dark red demonic Anima portal was still hanging above them, with sparks of dark red lightning surging around it, still waiting for the final surge to tear open into the demon world.
This humongous and extraordinary event did not go unnoticed by two certain farmer Exceeds as they got a front row seat to all of this.
"Lucky, what is that?" Marl questioned in a somewhat frightened tone.
"I don't know, but if it ruins my crops, there'll be hell to pay!" Lucky yelled in his typical angry fashion.
Extalia town
All the Exceeds in town could see the red glow from both the incoming lacrima island and the Demonic Anima. Most we're now starting to get more than a little panicked.
"The Royal Army is attacking!"
"The humans are invading!"
"They can't really be stupid enough to revolt."
"They must not know our queen's true power!"
"I bet the queen's going to use her magic any minute now, the humans are gonna pay!"
"Well she better do it soon."
Despite many Exceeds retaining their arrogant and high-strung attitude, a few still looked quite scared. Even a frightened Exceed child held onto his mother.
Trish, Wendy, Carla, even Nabi noticed what was going on. Nabi's mouth dropped at the sight of this.
"It looks like the lacrima hit the island." Wendy observed.
"If that we're the case I doubt we'd still be around to discuss it." Carla said.
"Its not just the lacrima, look." Trish pointed to the red demonic Anima. Wendy and Carla both looked shocked. "That's pure demonic energy. If the lacrima collides, and Extalia blows up, that's it. All of Edolas will fall into Mundus' hands."
The despair really got to Wendy. "I'm so sorry Carla! Trish! There's nothing we can do!"
"This isn't over yet!" Carla said, getting her determination back, something Nabi noticed. "We're not giving up that easily!" Carla ran towards the crowd of Exceeds. "Please! Listen everyone!"
The Exceed crowed had their angry looks at her. "So, you're still here?!" One male Exceed angrily stated. "I'll fix that!" He threw a rock towards her.
Trish was about to rush to help Carla, but Nabi stuck his head out so the rock hit him instead. This earned looks of confusion from the Exceeds as well as both Trish and Wendy.
"Sir Nabi?"
"What the…?" The blonde she-devil questioned.
"Carla!" Wendy ran towards her exceed friend, who looked just as confused.
"Sir, throwing rocks is dangerous." Nabi said. "Somebody could get hurt."
This seemed to only confuse the surrounding Exceed citizens. "Yeah… but she's a Fallen so its not a big deal."
"Don't you realize what's happened?!" Nabi exclaimed as he waved both his arms and addressed the surrounding Exceeds. "They risked their own safety to warn us of the danger! The only reason we find ourselves in this mess is because we ignored and berated them!"
Wendy, Trish, and Carla seemed quite confused. "He's defending us?" Trish questioned. "What the hell is going on here?"
"You've lost your mind Nabi!" One female Exceed exclaimed as the crowd seemed to turn against him.
"We don't need their help! The Queen is gonna destroy that island and all the humans!"
"Please your highness! Save us!"
The crowd was starting to turn back into a mob, while Nabi was looking more and more panicked as he shook with fear. "Everyone… please… calm yourselves."
"Set aside your fear Nabi."
Everyone turned around to see five certain Exceeds; Mysdroy, Mejeer, Muganto, and Martam. Four elder Exceeds, with one white younger Exceed in a massive and overly decorated gown, Queen Shagotte herself.
"It's the Queen!"
Trish, Wendy, and Carla also saw her and we're a bit surprised themselves.
"We're saved at last! Praise her!"
With that, every single Exceed bowed down to their queen as she walked onto the streets.
"All hail her majesty!" Nabi got on his knees and bowed down as well.
"That's really her?" Wendy saw the Queen.
"Overly decorated clothes, a group of old cronies surrounding her, and everyone bowing down? Yep I'd say that's her." Trish stated as she gave a scoff. "She doesn't look all that holy."
Queen Shagotte looked in the direction of the three females, Carla in particular. Trish noticed the way Shagotte looked at Carla and raised an eyebrow at this.
"Thank you, but this is not the time to lower your heads." Shagotte spoke to her citizens. "Now that you've all calmed down, please listen to what I have to say."
The Exceeds slowly began to raise their heads. "Any idea why the Queen would come out of her castle?" One female Exceed wondered.
"Probably so we can watch her use her awesome power." A male Exceed stated in excitement only to be shushed by an Exceed next to him.
"Shut your traps." He whispered.
The Queen then began to address her subjects. "Extalia is teetering on the edge of total annihilation. This fate may be inescapable from the Exceeds. After much soul-searching, I have come to a final decision on the matter."
While all the Exceeds we're eager on what she had to say, the four elders near her looked in mixtures of nervousness and guilt. Queen Shagotte then began to remove her royal attire, much to Nabi's shock. All the Exceed citizens we're surprised by this action.
"Your highness, why are you taking off your robes?" One Exceed asked.
"I have decided… that is time you finally be told the truth about your queen." Shagotte said as she took off her royal jewelry, which vanished along with her royal clothes and all she wore was a red shirt and pink pants.
"I am just an ordinary Exceed, not worthy of your admiration as queen nor as a god. I am no better than the rest of you."
She then revealed something that shocked everyone, especially Nabi and the elders. She revealed her right and only wing. Unlike the other Exceeds, which we're born with two wings, she only had one.
Wendy gave a gasp at this, Carla, and even Trish we're caught by surprise at this revelation.
"No it can't be true!" One Exceed exclaimed.
"I'm so sorry." Shagotte continued. "But I do not possess the power to fight the humans. As you can clearly see, I was born with one wing."
Every single Exceed citizen looked in complete and total shock. They could not believe their eyes.
"For Exceeds, our magic power is symbolized by our wings or Aera, and two wings symbolize one's control over true magic power." Shagotte looked down in shame. "I lack that power. My magic is weak." Trish, Wendy, and especially Carla had looks of shock at this. "I can never atone for my deception."
Shagotte then looked towards the three females. "Your names are Ms. Wendy, Ms. Trish, and Ms. Carla correct? My deepest apologizes to you as well. This is entirely my fault, so please do not harbor any ill will to those gathered here." She said referring to the surrounding Exceeds.
"I can't believe this is happening." Wendy breathed.
"Do you mind explaining just what the hell this whole thing is all about?!" Trish questioned in mild anger, considering she was still sore about the treatment to her and her friends, as well all the hardships every one of her Fairy Tail friends endured since arrival in Edolas.
"The blame rests with those who dared to concoct the idea of an 'Exceed Queen' to begin with." The elder Mejeer explained, as he and the other elders we're part of this deception as well. "We Exceeds have always been smaller and weaker than the humans, they took advantage of that fact and did terrible things to us whenever they got the chance. So to protect ourselves, we made the humans believe that we we're divine, and created a an all-powerful queen to serve as the embodiment of our might."
All the Exceed citizens had tears forming in their eyes as they head all of this. Carla had a shocked look on her face as she continued to listen, while Trish was one of slight anger.
"After that, we had to raise the already fragile spirits of their people." The elder Muganto continued to explain, as Shagotte put her single wing away. "So we revealed the Queen to Extalia and convinced them that she possessed the all-mighty power of a god."
"But her divine power was an elaborate bluff, maintained by a select few who knew the truth." The elder Mysdroy revealed.
"It took some time, but eventually the humans we're so terrified of the queen's fictional powers, they wouldn't even look at an Exceed for fear of her wrath." The elder Martam continued. "The most prevalent of their fears was the idea that she chooses which humans should be killed. In truth, neither the queen, nor any of us, has ever possessed the power to determine whether another living being should live or die. The only thing we have is Shagotte's ability to see into an individual's immediately future. She can see when a person will die, we took advantage of that power and made the humans believe that people perished according to her will."
Tears we're forming the eyes of all the surrounding Exceeds, while Wendy had a look of sympathy. However, Trish's look was one of anger as she clenched her fist.
"Now it all makes sense." Trish stated in anger as everyone turned his or her attention to her. "It explains why you hide in that castle of yours!" Trish spoke to Shagotte directly. "Do you even understand what is going on down there?!" She pointed downwards. "You tried to get every human down there to think you're a god by making them fear you!? Every single one of your Exceeds up here is boasting about how much magic they have, while people are fighting for scraps just to survive!" Trish's anger reached its peak.
"I got news for you, you're majesty, that's not a god, that's a devil!"
This caught Wendy by surprise, even the elder Exceeds looked shocked. Shagotte looked down further in shame.
"Do you know what happens when people become so engulfed by fear?!" Trish continued. "That fear always turns to hatred, always!" She exclaimed. "The humans hate you, and I can't say I blame them!"
Shagotte took all of this in and knew Trish was right. "You are correct. I'm not a god at all. Because of the lie that everyone has been told, so many innocent lives have suffered because of me. It would indeed seem the title of devil is fit for me."
"Trish…" Wendy said as she looked to her friend who still had an angered face.
The tearful Exceeds could not believe what they just heard. "No, that can't be true!"
"What are we gonna do!?" A crying Exceed child questioned.
"Our queen isn't a devil, there's now way that's right!" An Exceed cried on his knees.
"Stop lying and defeat the humans before its too late!" A crying female Exceed called out as well.
Shagotte shook as she heard the desperate cries of her people but couldn't do a single thing to help them.
"Deceitful nonsenses!"
Everyone looked towards the one who spoke up. "Carla." Wendy said in surprise, but Trish put a hand on the young girl's shoulder to give a subtle message to Wendy to let Carla speak her mind. Trish looked down towards the white Exceed, while it was true that Trish was angry she knew that Carla likely had endured more and had every right to be angry so she let her speak.
"Whether you have power or not means nothing to me!" Carla began to yell. "What matters is that you ordered my friends to be killed! That is an undeniable fact!"
"Shagotte gave no such orders young one!" The elder Muganto tried to defend. "It must have been the humans trying to exploit the legend of the Queen's power…"
"Be quiet!" Carla yelled as she continued to voice her grievances. "You planted false memories and ordered me to slaughter my closest friend!" Trish's eyes slightly widened at that as Carla continued. "Until a few days ago I've never even seen my homeland! YOU TOOK MY LIFE FROM ME!"
Shagotte couldn't give a definitive response to that, and felt she deserved every word. "I'm sorry."
Nabi, still waving his arm, tried to defend Shagotte. "Wait! You've got it all wrong! Its actually an incredibly long and overly complicated story…"
"You're excuses won't help the damage that's been done!" Carla shouted.
Wendy tried to ease her. "Carla, I don't think now's the time to focus on that."
Suddenly, and surprisingly, everyone looked in shock to see Shagotte unsheathe a sword. Nabi had a panicked look on his face as he fell back, still waving his arm. Carla, even Wendy and Trish, looked in surprise to see Shagotte toss the sword near Carla's feat.
"You're absolutely correct, Carla." Shagotte began. "My sins are many, and your suffering is among them. You've done nothing, yet I put you through more pain than anyone." Shagotte got onto her knees.
"No! Your highness!" The elder, Mysdroy tried to stop her.
"To atone, I ask that you personally carry out my punishment." Shagotte said to the shocked Carla. Trish looked in surprise as well. The crowd and Wendy looked in shock as well.
"Please, punish me for my crimes." Shagotte begged Carla. "As a friend to both human and Exceeds, you have the right to carry it out."
"Carla…" Wendy saw her friend looked confused, but her look turned into one of shock when she didn't take the sword, but instead flew up towards Trish and pulled her Luce gun and cocked it. Trish herself looked in surprise at this.
This brought the Exceeds even more tears. "My Queen, you can't die!"
"We forgive you, your majesty!"
Shagotte addressed the citizens. "Now please, everyone should leave immediately! I will join Extalia in its ruin! You must live on and thrive!"
Carla began to walk towards Shagotte, with the gun in her hands. "Stop!" Wendy begged Carla. "You can't go through with this!"
Nabi got on his knees as tears flowed from his eyes, with Carla walking closer.
"I don't wanna leave!" An Exceed cried out.
"Yeah, I'm staying here to!"
"Extalia will vanish into history now."
"That's why the Queen decided to reveal everything to us."
"If the Queen is staying here, then so am I!"
"We'll stay with you till the end your highness!"
This brought tears to Shagotte's eyes. "I beg you! Save yourselves and allow me to bare this punishment alone!"
Carla raised the Luce gun and pointed it straight at Shagotte. "CARLA NO!" Wendy cried.
Before Carla could even think about pulling the trigger, a hand came upon the gun and slightly lowered it. Carla glanced to see it was Trish with a sympathetic look in her eyes.
"This isn't the right choice to make."
Carla didn't even look in Trish's direction. "You yourself said she was a devil."
"I said she acted like one." Trish told her. "You heard her, she's completely powerless. Will killing a weak and defenseless creature really make you feel better, even if she's the one who caused you so much suffering?"
"What could you possibly know?" Carla questioned as tears began to flow from her eyes as well.
Trish had a serious look on her face. "Do you know why I look so much like Dante's mother? Its because Mundus made me like that."
Carla looked to Trish in surprise, even Wendy looked shocked at that. Trish began to tell her story.
"Mundus, the Demon King, may still be trapped in the Demon World, but a few of his smaller cronies have found ways to get to Earthland, as you know. But Dante kept standing in their way. Mundus saw Dante as a threat, but he knew where he came from and who his parents were, so he created me. Mundus created me in the image of Dante's mother because he knew Dante had a soft spot for that."
Wendy and Carla especially continued to listen.
"Yes, I used to work for Mundus, and he ordered me to get close to Dante so that I could kill him. But, the closer I got to Dante, the more I saw him for who he was. Dante showed me something Mundus never did, compassion and kindness. He became a friend, something I never thought I'd have. Despite that, Mundus wanted me to hurt him, to kill him, but I couldn't." A small tear fell from Trish's right eye. "Not after all he did for me. So, I left Mundus and joined Dante."
Trish took out her sword and showed it to Carla. "This sword belonged to his father, Sparda. He gave it to me as a sign of his trust. I could have gone used it to gone down a darker road, to become a killer, but instead Dante showed me a better way." Trish then looked directly at Carla "Don't make the same mistake I almost did. Don't become a killer, like what everyone here tried to make you out of."
Wendy looked at Trish with shaking eyes, but the one most moved by this was Carla, she had no idea about any of this. As her eyes shook, she closed them tightly. With a yell, she raised the Luce gun high into the air and shot a bullet straight up.
Shagotte and all the other Exceeds looked to Carla in shock as she let the gun drop from her hands, which Trish picked up.
"What's wrong with you!?" The teary-eyed Carla cried out to all the Exceeds. "How can all of you give up so easily!? This is your homeland, isn't it?! Do you seriously need a god or queen to get anything done?! You've all held onto dear life even if it meant resorting to lies! After all that, you're just going to lie down and die!?"
Trish and Wendy listened to all of this, as did the other Exceeds. Even Shagotte with shaking tearful eyes was listening to all of this.
"It's okay if you're weak, but if you all work together there is no limit to what you can accomplish!" Carla continued to cry. "Extalia can't disappear! I'VE FINALLY COME HOME! AFTER ALL THIS TIME I CAN'T LET IT BE DESTROYED!"
Wendy gave a slight gasp in surprise, while all the Exceeds could only look in shock and surprise, even Shagotte herself, while Trish had a smirk on her face.
Carla then sprouted her wings. "I'M GOING TO SAVE EXTALIA WITH OR WITHOUT YOU!" She then took off straight towards the lacrima.
"Carla!" Wendy called out as she watched her friend take off.
Trish walked forward. "Well, that's real determination if I ever saw it." She looked towards Wendy with a smirk. "Come on kiddo, we can't let her have all the glory? What do you say we give her a helping hand?"
Wendy looked to Trish with surprise at first before a look of determination formed on her face. "Right!" She nodded.
At the same time, Nabi sprouted his wings as well, while still pumping his arm. "Right! I'm going to do everything I can! Because… I'm a citizen of Extalia."
At the same time; the Lacrima Island was still pushing closer towards Extalia, with the red Demonic Anima still hanging above them. Dante, still in his Devil Trigger form, continued to push alongside Natsu, Grey, Lisanna, Lady, Gajeel, Happy, Lady, Erza, Modeus, Coco, even her own Legion was helping all it could as well.
Despite all their strength, they could only keep it back so much. "It's getting pretty tight in here!" Lucy stated
"Yeah, no shit!" Lady exclaimed in frustration.
Gajeel growled. "Can't… hold."
"Just keep pushing guys!" Grey exclaimed.
"Use every once of your power you have left!" Erza yelled.
"The Demonic Anima can only remain open for so long! We just have to hold out a little while longer!" Modeus exclaimed.
"I don't know how long we can hold out!" Lisanna cried out, while pushing as hard as she could as well.
"Come on! We can't give up!" The Devil Trigger Dante continued to push as well.
Meanwhile, Panther Lily sprouted his own wings and flew a safe distance but was still close enough to see what everyone was doing.
"They must be mad. Do they honestly believe that their strength alone can prevent this massacre?"
Lily's attention was caught be a stream of light heading straight for the Lacrima Island. This was from Carla who joined everyone else from Fairy Tail in trying to push the lacrima back.
"Carla it's you!" Happy saw as she was right next to him. The Devil Trigger Dante looked in surprise as well when he saw her come in.
"I'm not giving up!" Carla exclaimed. "I'll protect Fairy Tail and Extalia! I just can't watch my homes be destroyed!"
The Devil Trigger Dante's look of surprise turned into a smirk. "Guess you've got some guts after all."
Happy and Carla then suddenly heard a yell as they turned around and saw Nabi flying in with a battle-cry and joining them in pushing the lacrima back.
"Why are you here?" Carla questioned.
"Because I want to protect my home as well!" Nabi answered. "You're courage inspired me!"
Lily continued to look on with a skeptical look until his senses picked up something, something that surprised him. He turned around to see dozens, maybe even hundreds, of streams of light shooting out from Extalia, it was all the Exceeds flying out.
"What is this?" Lily questioned. "What is going on?"
Carla looked back to see this as well and was both surprised and moved by this. "They all came."
Every single Exceed in Extalia; male and female, guard and citizen, adult and child, all flew out with their wings glowing brightly and shouting battle cries. Among them we're both Wendy and Trish, both having Exceeds carry them as they too flew towards the lacrima to stop its collision.
Lily saw this and could not believe what he was seeing.
"Exceeds aren't afraid to protect our land with our own paws!"
"This is for our beloved queen who was giving her life to protect the kingdom of Extalia and its citizens!"
"And for Wendy, Carla, and Trish who risked their lives to save us from ourselves!"
"Come on Furballs! Lets do this!" Trish exclaimed to the Exceeds behind her.
"Yeah! Everyone! Get ready to push with all your might!" Wendy exclaimed as well.
Among them was even Shagotte herself, who was using only one wing, but she could barely keep up with everyone else.
The elders flew with her. "Shagotte, your wing is too fragile! You shouldn't be here!"
"No! My fate will be the same as my people! We survive or fall as one!" Shagotte said with equal determination as everyone around her.
Marl and Lucky even saw this from their farm as well and we're more than a little surprised.
"Marl, I think I'm hallucinating." Lucky said, as he had no idea how to describe this.
"Everyone in Extalia has come together." Marl said in a gasp.
Soon, Wendy and Trish joined all their friends in pushing the lacrima back, as well as every single Exceed as they all gathered at the base of the lacrima and pushed with all their might. It wasn't just Extalia they we're fighting to save, but the whole of Edolas from the darkness of the Demon World as the Demonic Anima continued to remain open, but no one was willing to give up.
Trish came close to Dante and he looked towards her. "Hey, what the hell took you and the calvary so long?" The Devil Triggered individual said in a joking tone.
The lightning she-devil looked back with Dante. "Oh shut up and push you big jerk." She joked to him as they continued to push.
As Lily saw all this, a certain memory came back to him.
Flashback
"Lilly!? What in the Queen's name possessed you to save a human child?!" The elder Exceed Mejeer questioned.
A younger Panther-Lily was kneeling in Queen Shagotte's throne room, facing the queen herself as well as the four elders while also holding a very young human boy in his arms.
"If I hadn't he would have perished." Lily responded.
"How foolish of you to bring such rabble into Extalia!" The elder Muganto exclaimed in anger. "It turns my stomach."
"Sorry." Lily apologized. "But I cannot ignore any living creature that has been seriously wounded."
"Have the rules of our divine queen completely slipped your mind?!" The elder Mysdroy questioned in anger.
"You are hereby deemed a Fallen! And exiled from Extalia forever!" The elder Martam declared.
This completely shocked Lily. "Exiled?! You can't be serious!"
At this declaration, Queen Shagotte tried to maintain a stoic look, but her eyes still shook with grief and regret.
Sometime later, Lily and the young boy both walked through a desert away from Extalia. Lily stopped for a moment to take one last look at his former home, the young boy stopped as well and looked directly toward Lily.
Lily looked down at the boy. "What's the matter?" He kneeled down and put a hand on his head. "Don't feel guilty. You aren't to blame for my people's shortsightedness. Now the first thing we should do is get you back to your homeland."
End flashback
Shagotte couldn't maintain her power anymore, so her single wing gave out.
"You're majesty!" Both the elders Mejeer and Martam yelled as they watch their queen fall, but she was saved as Panther-Lily flew in and caught her in her arms.
She gave a gasp at who just saved her. "Panther-Lily!" All four elder Exceeds looked in shock to see the exiled Exceed again; while Gajeel gave a smirk as he even saw that from where he was now.
None where more shocked than Shagotte herself.
"Tell me your majesty." Lily began. "Have you finally grown weary of lying?" He asked as they continued to watch all the members of Fairy Tail and all the Exceeds push back the lacrima.
Shagotte looked down in guilt and shame. "I'm so sorry that I hurt you." She then noticed a few sparkles falling down from Lily's face, they we're his tears.
"You know… no matter how much I tried to hate it… Extalia is… still my homeland!" Lily exclaimed with tears falling from his eyes.
"Lily." Shagotte uttered.
"But… Its no use now." Lily continued as he continued to watch everyone push back the lacrima. "Even with all these Exceeds working together… There's no stopping it. FORGIVE ME! PLEASE! THIS IS ALL MY FAULT!" He cried out in anguish. "IT DIDN'T HAVE TO HAPPEN! I COULD HAVE STOPPED THE HUMANS! BUT I DID NOTHING!"
Shagotte placed a hand on his arm in comfort and looked at him with determination. "Don't worry, I'm certain your words will reach them!"
These words did reach everyone as they all continued to push back the Lacrima with every once of their strength.
"JUST KEEP PUSHING!" Natsu shouted.
"NEVER GIVE UP! NEVER SURRENDER!" The Devil Trigger Dante shouted as well.
All the Exceeds pushed with them with all their might; as did the members of Fairy Tail: Grey, Erza, Modeus, Gajeel, Trish, Lady, Wendy, Happy, Carla, Lisanna, even Coco and her Legion tried with all their might to keep the Lacrima back as the demonic Anima continued to hang above them, but it was already starting to shrink and it would close soon. They we're so close, just a little further.
"Give it your all guys!" One Exceed yelled.
"Push!"
"We can do it!"
"This won't be the end of us!" Grey exclaimed.
"Quitting is not an option! Not for Fairy Tail!" Erza exclaimed as well.
"We will stop this! We fight as one!" Modeus exclaimed as well.
"Come on! We're almost there!" Trish shouted.
"We will stop it! No matter the cost!" Lucy exclaimed.
"We can't give up!" Lisanna yelled.
"Shut your traps and just push!" Lady exclaimed.
Lucky and Marl even joined in as well. "Lets push to, Lucky!"
"Aye sir!"
A massive surge of green Aera magic erupted from the small space between the two floating islands as the Exceeds all poured their magic into moving the lacrima back.
"AYE SIR!" Happy shouted.
"AYE SIR!" All the Exceeds shouted with him.
"THIS IS IT! GIVE IT YOUR ALL!" Wendy shouted as she too was pushing.
The flashes of green Aera magic could be seen all over as the Exceeds pushed the lacrima back with the members of Fairy Tail. All the while, the demonic Anima portal above them was now starting to close; its time was just about expired.
Dante, still in his Devil Trigger form, gave a mighty yell as he too put in his own power and combined it with that of the Exceeds, the flashes of green Aera magic mixed with his bright red demonic aura and with a mighty heave; the island was pushed back. The island magic inside vanished, it was done, Extalia was saved and the collision was avoided.
Lily, still carrying Shagotte, saw this and could not believe what his eyes had just seen. "They've actually pushed the lacrima a safe distance away."
A flash above them caught his attention. Everyone looked up to see the red Demonic Anima shrinking, it continued to shrink until the swirls stopped and it became a single red dot before vanishing completely.
"The anima… it's closed…" Coco observed.
Dante's Devil Trigger began to vanish as red steam came from his body and he returned to his human appearance. He saw the anima vanish as well. "It's done… Mundus' plan… it failed." He smiled. "We won."
He then looked in mild surprise to see the lacrima itself began to glow white, this also caught the attention of the rest of his Fairy Tail friends, as well as all the Exceeds in the sky. It soon erupted in a sudden flash of blue and white energy.
"What now?!" Wendy questioned.
Dante, Natsu, Grey, Erza, Lucy, Gajeel, Lisanna, Modeus, Lady, and Trish all looked in shock as they saw the white flash completely engulf the lacrima crystal It shot directly into the sky in the form of white swirls. The momentum of this event caused many of the Exceeds to fly straight upwards away from the Lacrima Island.
This massive pillar of bright white light could be seen all over the land of Edolas. Natsu, Dante, and everyone braced themselves as a shockwave forced everyone back.
The flash subsided; all the humanoids present, Dante, Natsu, and the others we're being held in the sky by Exceeds; Happy holding Natsu, and Wendy holding Carla, even Nabi held Lucy; as well as Dante, Lisanna, Grey, Gajeel, Modeus, Lady, and Trish; while Coco still rode her Legion.
"Did we win?" Wendy asked Carla who held her in the air.
"I have no idea." Carla replied.
Modeus saw it. "Everyone! Look!"
That's when everyone in the sky saw it and all saw it with wide eyes. "The Lacrima…" Erza breathed.
"It's… gone?" Lisanna questioned.
The Lacrima crystal was indeed gone, completely vanished. All that was left was the rock base that surrounded the crystal, as well as the Dragon Chain Cannon that was still attached, but now completely drained of all its magical power.
The base itself then began to glow white and soon began to fade away, as though it was becoming dust, as well as the chain that was attached to it.
"It disappeared…." Grey observed. "Does that mean…"
"What happened to all our friends?" Lucy worriedly wondered. "Do you think?"
"Hey guys." Dante got everyone's attention as an Exceed held onto him. "The Demonic Anima portal closed."
"What?" Lady questioned.
"Yeah, just before our lightshow, I saw that portal close." Dante replied.
"You're right." Coco agreed. "This is how long an Anima can remain open for. Without any magic for it to harvest, it'll close on its own."
"So… does that mean… we won?" Natsu wondered
"I think so." Dante confirmed. "The collision never happened, so a rift can't be torn between Edolas and the Demon World."
"So we've saved Edolas from Mundus?" Happy asked.
"It would appear so." Modeus replied as an Exceed held onto him as well. "Nelo Angelo's plan has failed. Its over."
"But… what happened to the lacrima? And everyone inside?" Wendy asked.
Lily's face was still evident with shock at the sudden disappearance of the lacrima crystal.
"Don't worry." A new voice assured. "They're all safe and sound." This voice came from none other than Mystogen himself as he rode his own Legion; this one was white with a blue underbelly and wings.
"I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess: that's Mystogen?" Dante asked Erza.
"Yes… that's him." Erza confirmed.
"Sorry for the delay." Mystogen apologized. "But I couldn't risk casting any spells with that Demonic Anima open. I had to wait for it to close, or else risk sending the lacrima and everyone inside to the Demon Realm."
Everyone looked at him as he continued. "Without your efforts, I never would have made it in time. You have my thanks."
Natsu gave a victorious chuckle.
"Everybody's back to normal?" Happy questioned in surprise.
"Yes." Mystogen confirmed. "By passing through the Anima again, the lacrima will return to its original form in Earthland." This caused smiles to erupt from everyone present, especially the members of Fairy Tail. "It's finally over."
Celebrations then erupted from the entire sky as humans and Exceeds, as well as demons, began to cheer in their victory.
"We really did it?"
"Well I'll be! We saved Extalia with our very own paws!"
All the Exceeds cheered. Modeus, Wendy, Carla, Lucy, Lisanna, and Grey shared joyous laughs and smiles; as did Natsu, Happy, Dante, Erza, Trish, Gajeel, and Lady.
"Great job everybody!" Coco cheered as well.
"Jackpot baby!" Dante exclaimed as he pumped his fist into the air with a smile.
"Yeah! Jackpot!" Natsu and Happy cheered at the same time as Dante and Natsu high-fived.
The four elder Exceeds smiled as well as they held the joyous Shagotte in their hands. Lily looked towards Mystogen when the masked wizard called his name.
"Lily." Mystogen called. "Long ago you saved my life, I'm glad I could return the favor today." He removed his mask to reveal his face as not only the Edolas counterpart to Jellal, but the very same boy that he saved long ago, which resulted in Lily's banishment from Extalia.
Lily smiled as tears of joy came from his face upon seeing him. "Yes. And I couldn't begin to thank you… my prince."
Coco too had tears of joy. "Our long lost prince is home at last!"
"He's what?!" Lucy exclaimed in comic surprise.
"He's the prince of the Royal Kingdom?" Modeus questioned in surprise.
"Well I'll be damned." Dante said in a chuckle.
Lily and Mystogen shared eye contact, however something caught the attention of Natsu as his nose picked up a very familiar and unwanted scent. His eyes widened.
"EVERYONE LOOK OUT!"
Natsu's warning came too late as a surge of dark lightning blasted Panther-Lily in the back. Shagotte looked in horror.
"No, not my cat!" Gajeel exclaimed in surprise.
Dante, Grey, Modeus, Wendy, Lisanna, Lady, and everyone else looked in horror at this.
"LILLY!" Mystogen exclaimed.
A massive stream of dark lightning shot forward and made its way to the center of a large gathering of Exceeds, Exceed soldiers to be specific.
"What's this?" One Exceed soldier questioned.
The dark lightning dispersed to reveal the transformed Onyx Reaper Nelo Aneglo with a look of rage on his face.
"He's… A MONSTER!" The Exceed soldier exclaimed.
Nelo Angelo showed off his black demonic wings as he used his double-bladed scythe, charged with dark lightning, to slice through and kill the Exceed guard. This resulted in screams from every Exceed in that general area as they tried to fly away.
"Insolent… Pathetic… WORMS!" Nelo Angelo exclaimed in rage. "DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'VE DONE!? You may have thwarted my master's plan. But I swear that he will know vengeance! I WILL KILL YOU ALL!"
Nelo Angelo flew high in the sky before he shot downward.
"It's Nelo Angelo!" Natsu exclaimed.
Dante had a scowl on his face at the sight of his enemy, but his senses picked something up as he quickly picked up Rebellion to block away a purple laser coming his way.
He looked down with a scowl. "Aw shit! Are you kidding me?!"
Dante, as well as everyone else, looked down to see Erza Knightwalker mounting a Legion with her spear, as well as a small army of Edolas Royal Soldiers, each mounted on their own Legion fly up towards the heroes.
"WE'RE NOT DONE HERE!" Knightwalker exclaimed as she flew up with her army. "DESTROY EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM!"
Nelo Angelo at the same time flew straight down towards them. "It no longer matters to me! Human, Demon, Exceed, Earthland or Edolas, I AM THE GOD OF DEATH AND YOU ALL DIE NOW!"
Done.

So good news for our heroes. They saved their friends and returned them to Earthland, while at the same time ending Mundus' threat to Edolas.
Bad news however, Knightwalker and the Edolas Royal Army is far from done and Nelo Angelo is SUPER PISSED and is ready to kill EVERYONE, and has even just now killed an Exceed.
I'm sure many of you wanted to see Mundus in this arc, but don't worry, I plan to have him play a major role in my overall Fairy May Cry series and I don't plan to confine him to just one arc, the same goes for Vergil as well (think along the lines of Zeref and Acnologia and how they all play in the Fairy Tail series).
So now the final battle of Edolas has began. The members of Earthland's Fairy Tail along with Mystogen vs. The Edolas Royal Army vs. the newly transformed and enraged Nelo Angelo. Which will come out on top? Find out as the Edolas Arc begins its final chapter. (though this may take up to four actual chapters, but you know what I mean)
