Wrath! The Dorma Anim and The Onyx Reaper!
The once mighty Panther-Lily now falls from the sky. A large bleeding wound was visible his back, courtesy of the attack from the enraged Nelo Angelo.
"Prince…." Lily grimaced in agonizing pain.
"LILY!" Mystogen, the prince of the Edolas Kingdom called out from on top of his white Legion as Coco, Shagotte, and even Gajeel looked in horror at the sight of the wounded Exceed fall.
The transformed Nelo Angelo looked in the direction Lily fell with disgust. "How pathetic. You think yourself so noble, don't you? You're just a filthy Exceed, a false angel who will soon meet the same fate with the rest of his kind."
"Nelo Angelo!"
This call came from Erza Knightwalker, riding her own Legion, with a small army of Royal Soldiers on their own Legions behind her, as she shot a beam from her spear directly at him. However he flexed his right hand out and it created a dark electric shield with minimal effort to block the attack.
"You pathetic traitor!" Knightwalker shouted up towards him. "You dare to deceive our king?! Well I will make certain that the Black Angel's wings are severed permanently!"
Nelo Angelo merely scoffed. "Is that so, Knightwalker? You couldn't even defeat Dante when he had no power; where as I have gained more than I previously had from my true master. The Black Angel is no more, now you face the Onyx Reaper! And I am here to reap your souls from this world!"
He flew straight down towards Knightwalker and her army as they in turn flew up towards him; both Knightwalker and Nelo Angelo giving battle cries as they did.
As the clash began; the members of Earthland's Fairy Tail, each being carried by an Exceed, as well as Coco on top of her Legion, looked on with looks of anger and concern.
"Is that really Nelo Angelo?" Lucy asked with fear in her voice, taking note of his new and more frightening appearance.
"He looks even more monstrous now than before." Lisanna said in an equally frightened tone.
"Not just that, I can tell he's a lot stronger now to." Natsu observed.
"How the heck did he get like that? Is that his own Devil Trigger or something?" Happy asked.
"No, he must have received additional power from Mundus." Modeus deduced.
"Great, just when it looks like we've won, even more shit has hit the fan." Dante stated.
Coco looked down to where her best friend had fallen. "Lilly!"
Gajeel scowled in Nelo Angelo's direction after what he did to Lily. "Damn freak! He's gonna pay!"
Shagotte looked in horror in the direction Lily had fallen as well. "We have to do something to help Lily!" She exclaimed as the elder Exceed, Martarn, held her in the air.
"It's too dangerous Shagotte."
A young, pink, female Exceed named Belletokia flew up towards them. "Don't worry you're majesty, I'll go down there and take care of him for you." She flew down after Lily.
Meanwhile; the Edolas Royal soldiers shot multiple energy beams towards Nelo Angelo, but he was far too fast, flying quickly and avoiding each of the attacks. He soon came towards the side of a Legion and flew up, raising his double-bladed scythe, charged with dark lightning and slicing it downward, cutting the creature entirely in half and letting the soldier onboard fall helplessly to the ground. He shot out his free hand to send a powerful stream of dark lightning directly at three incoming Legions, killing them as well as the riding soldiers.
Several flew above him and shot down towards Nelo Angelo; but he spun quickly almost like a tornado with the dark lightning surging around it; sending more deadly bolts up towards the soldiers; several more bolts even shot downward and shot down five more enemies. He then flew towards an incoming squad, his double-bladed scythe split and he took an end in each hand, almost similar to that of a dual-Kama-set, with scythe-blades. He sliced and diced, electrocuting and killing all the Royal Soldiers and Legions that flew his way.
Blood, dismembered body parts, and the charred remains of human soldier and Legion alike fell from the sky as Nelo Angelo hovered.
"You pathetic fools." He began. "Did you forget who it was that destroyed most of the guilds in your world, thus enabling your rise to power? I helped build you up to where you are, and now I will you tear you down just as easily."
Before he could fly towards the rest of the Royal Army, Knightwalker flew up towards him on her Legion and stood in his way.
"All of you stay back!" Knightwalker ordered her remaining soldiers. "I will deal with this traitor myself!" She glared at him as he smirked.
"Oh please Knightwalker, don't pretend that you are at all in my league."
Before they could do battle, a voice called out. "Enough!"
They both looked up to see Mystogen on his White Legion, as well as both Dante and Erza by his side, each being supported by an Exceed and kept airborne.
Dante began in a joking tone. "Hey, NA, you've been hitting up steroids since I last saw you?" He then turned from the Onyx Reaper. "And little Ms. Knightwalker, like the new hairdo." He joked, referring to her shorter hair.
"Dante! Scarlet!" Knightwalker scowled at both of them, while Nelo Angelo merely chuckled in amusement.
"Let me handle this you two." Mystogen said to both Dante and Erza as he turned towards Nelo Angelo and Knightwalker. "I've had enough of this meaningless bloodshed. Captain Knightwalker, Nelo Angelo; I order you both to stand down immediately, by order of the Prince of Edolas."
"The Prince?" Erza questioned in mild surprise while Knightwalker glared.
Nelo Angelo however simply smiled menacingly. "So you're the long-lost prince of this waste of a kingdom. I had been wondering if you would show up."
The tension was mounting as the other Fairy Tail members; Natsu, Happy, Lisanna, Lucy, Modeus, Grey, Trish, Wendy, Carla, and Lady each looked down on the situation, as well as Coco and all the Exceeds. However, a new loud, and booming voice erupted throughout the air with a maniacal chuckle.
"Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha! You, the Royal Prince of Edolas? Don't make me laugh! You don't deserve the title because I never thought of you as my son!"
Mystogen gave a light gasp at that voice; even Nelo Angelo raised an eyebrow at it.
"What the hell was that?" Trish questioned.
"That's the King's voice!" Coco recognized it.
"Yeah, where the heck is he?" Lucy questioned.
"I can't tell, his voice is echoing throughout the air." Modeus observed as he looked around for the source.
"You have some nerve." Faust's voice echoed toward Mystogen. "You can't run off for seven years and then waltz back in as if nothing happened. Do you think you can fool me? I know you've been in Earthland sealing all the Animas. You're a traitor, and so you must be punished for you're actions!"
"Where's that voice coming from?" Wendy questioned as she looked around.
"I have no idea, but he certainly sounds angry, doesn't he?" Carla stated.
"I've got a really bad feeling about this." Lisanna stated as she was close to Natsu and Happy.
"Come on! Show yourself you coward!" Natsu challenged.
"Come out and face us!" Happy challenged as well.
To everyone's surprise, Nelo Angelo was laughing. "You surprise me, Faust. I knew you we're hungry for power, but I never thought you'd be desperate enough to use that."
"You insolent, worthless, turncoat!" Faust's angry voice echoed at Nelo Angelo. "You think you can deceive me and get away of it?! Do you even comprehend who you're dealing with?!"
"I'm afraid it's the other way around, you're majesty." Nelo Angelo replied. "You are the one who doesn't know who he is dealing with, and I'm not referring to myself. I told you before that wherever there's a god there is also a devil. I am the herald of that devil. I am the Onyx Reaper. And I will prove just how much of an insect you are compared to the forces I represent!"
"Ridiculous!" Faust's voice echoed again as a surge of green energy erupted from the grounds in the ruins of an ancient coliseum. "What you are is just an overgrown parasite! And like all parasites, you will be exterminated!"
The Fairy Tail members could feel it as they heard the sounds of a machine humming to life.
"Do you hear that?" Lady spoke out. "It sounds like some kind of machine?"
"I think its coming from underground." Grey guessed.
"You feel the magic power building up in the air?" Lucy observed as well.
"I do, and I do not like it." Modeus responded.
The energy from the ground continued to build. "This is not a simple fight." Faust's voice continued to speak as a metal-egg-like device began to rise from the ground. "No, this is retribution! The extermination of all who would dare oppose their king!"
Mystogen looked at the device that rose from the ground with shock. Nelo Angelo's smile simply grew wider.
"What is that thing?" Trish questioned.
"Is it some kind of magic weapon?" Grey questioned as well.
"It looks more like… some kind of egg." Dante observed. "And I think its about to hatch."
"Since you; as well as the so-called prince and his meddlesome friends insist on standing in my way, I have no choice but to obliterate each and every one of you. Regardless of who you are or who you claim to serve!" Faust exclaimed from inside the mysterious device as it rose from the ground.
"Father, please." Mystogen pleaded.
"I'm not your father!" Faust exclaimed. "I am the King of Edolas!"
"Well then, you're majesty, if you are so eager to face me then go ahead and unleash the most powerful weapon in your arsenal! Make your final battle one to remember!" Nelo Angelo challenged.
The machine began to glow white. "I will enjoy squashing you, Nelo Angelo!" The device suddenly began to transform. All the Exceeds above began to look in fear. "If I dispose of all of you here and now, I won't have any opposition to seal any more of my Animas in Earthland or sabotage my own operations! I'll be free to create another giant Lacrima and fuse it with the Exceeds! Limitless Magic power will be mine!"
Shagotte instantly recognized the device. "Oh no." She whispered in horror.
Faust's maniacal laugh echoed as a giant, silver; robotic dragon with glowing red eyes stood up and revealed itself. "Try as you might! There is no stopping me!"
The members of Fairy Tail all looked upon this machine with surprise, Mystogen's look was one of horror, and Nelo Angelo's was one more of amusement.
"I AM THE KING! MY POWER IS ABSOLUTE!"
The roaring echo especially earned the shocked looks of Erza, Grey, Lucy, and Dante.
The Exceeds around looked on in horror. The elder Mejeer gave a gasp. "All of that magic, can you feel it?"
"I can." The elder Exceed Muganto stated in horror as well. "And I recognize that form!"
"No! This can't be happening!" The elder Mysdroy looked in absolute fear and terror.
"Is that… what I think it is…?" Martarn feared.
Shagotte looked as though she was looking into the face of death itself. "Dorma… Anim…"
"What the hell is that?!" Dante questioned.
"The Dorma Anim." Mystogen began to explain. "From our old language, it means 'Dragon Knight'. It's enhanced dragon armor!"
That caught Natsu's attention. "A dragon?"
"Certainly looks like one." Happy observed.
"Yes, it does bear a resemblance to some of the dragons I've seen in Earthland." Modeus said.
"Is it magic armor?" Wendy wondered.
"Its unlike anything I've seen before." Carla stated.
"Uh Coco… what is it… exactly?" Lisanna nervously asked the younger girl.
"It's an enhanced armor made from an anti-magic lacrima called 'Wizard-Canceller'. Its bad news for us because our attacks won't have any effect on it!" Coco explained.
"Wait… are you serious?" Trish questioned.
"The King must be inside of it." Coco continued. "He's controlling the Dorma Anim's every move."
The Dorma Anim's mouth opened as his voice was projected from it towards his Royal Army. "As your king, I order you to capture the Exceeds at once!
"Yes Sir!" All the soldiers exclaimed as they flew on their Legions directly toward the Exceeds, each of them armed with a special weapon made for this exact moment.
"HURRY! FLY FOR YOUR LIVES!" Mystogen yelled to the Exceeds as they all panicked and flew as fast as their wings could carry them.
One soldier was reading his weapon. "Magicalizing-cannon, charged and ready! FIRE!" All the soldiers shot out blue energy beams at the Exceeds.
Any Exceed that was hit by the beam suddenly transformed into a tiny cat-face-shaped Lacrima and began to fall from the sky. Any remaining Exceed tried to fly as fast he or she could from this horrible sight.
"Fly away!" Shagotte yelled to her subjects. "Hurry!"
"We must flee, my Queen! Its too dangerous here!" Martarn told her.
Shagotte had tears in her eyes. "Everyone… try to stay strong." She prayed.
Knightwalker took command of her army. "After them!"
"Yes Captain!" They all exclaimed as they flew after the Exceeds.
Meanwhile; Dante, Natsu, Lisanna, Grey, Erza, Wendy, Modeus, Lucy, Gajeel, Lady, Trish, Happy, and Carla all met on Coco's Legion.
"This is a freaking horror show!" Lady stated. "What the hell are we gonna do!?"
"Whatever we can." Erza said. "All of you do your best to protect the Exceeds, I'm gonna try to take down Knightwalker."
"You got it." Lucy replied.
"Be careful Erza, she's just about as strong as you." Lisanna warned.
"Its not just the Royal Army that's the problem." Trish said.
"Yeah, now we got two monsters we gotta take down." Grey observed.
"Well does anyone have a plan? Because I'm open to suggestions." Lucy spoke out.
"It won't be easy." Dante said. "Nelo Angelo's got a serious upgrade, and that oversized mecha-dragon could be a problem to."
"I think right now you should stay a safe distance away." Mystogen stated as his White Legion flew beside them. "Right now my Father and Nelo Angelo are about to battle, and when those two face off, it won't be pretty."
"Us? Well, what about you?" Wendy asked with concern.
Mystogen didn't answer as he looked down at the battle-to-begin with intensity.
Nelo Angelo hovered downward closer to the armor as he held both scythe-blades in his hands. "The most destructive weapon in your arsenal. I'll give you credit that you take me seriously enough that you have to resort to that to face me. But don't think for a moment that it will be enough! I'll enjoy slicing that false dragon in half!"
"I've had enough of your talk Angelo!" Faust exclaimed as the Dorma Anim's mouth opened. "NOW DIE!" A massive white beam shot out from the mouth and straight at Nelo Angelo.
He crossed his scythe-blades and created a shield of dark lightning to block the attack. He struggled a bit, but as he swung his blades out, he dispersed the attack with his own dark electric aura. A slight shockwave blew back the two Legions slightly as everyone struggled a bit to stay on.
"Nice try, but it looks like the next move is mine!" Nelo Angelo stated as he soared straight down at the Dorma Anim.
Both his blades lit with dark lightning as he slashed at the Dorma Anim, but it was quick enough to use the blade on its right arm to block the attack. Faust inside swung its left arm-blade at Nelo Angelo, the force sent him back, but he stabilized himself with his wings and flew up to avoid the mechanical fist that shot out towards him. Nelo Angelo flew behind and shot straight at the Dorma Anim's back; knocking it backwards slightly.
Faust however laughed as the machine straightened up. "Is that your best?" Silos opened on its back. "Launch Dragon Rider Missiles!"
Several projectiles shot out from the Dorma Anim's back and towards Nelo Angelo. He flew straight up into the sky with the missiles tracking him. As they caught to him, he used his blades and sliced through each of the missiles. As he did, they all exploded. Both Faust as well as Fairy Tail could see the orange flash of the explosion; however, they could also see the silhouette of the Onyx Reaper in the orange flash as it faded.
"I could ask the same of you." Nelo Angelo wondered as it looked like he barley take any damage. He charged his blades with dark lightning as he brought both together above his head, creating a large surge of dark lightning, which he shot down in the form of a large beam directly at the Dorma Anim.
The mechanical dragon's mouth opened in response as he shot another white beam at Nelo Angelo's incoming attack. Both beams clashed as they struggled against each other, both Faust and Nelo Angelo trying to push it towards the other.
The members of Fairy Tail continued to watch, and Dante was the first to see it as they continued to struggle. "It looks like a stalemate."
"We have to get those two apart if that is the case." Modeus stated.
"What are you talking about?" Wendy asked.
"The Dorma Anim is the most dangerous weapon in the King's arsenal." Coco began to explain. "It was so powerful that it was locked away and made forbidden to use."
That caught most of them by surprise. "You're kidding. It's that powerful?" Lisanna questioned.
"And if you consider that, as well as Nelo Angelo's new state in power; their ongoing battle could continue for a great deal of time, but with both more focused on simply facing each other rather than anything else around them…" Modeus continued.
"They could both unintentionally destroy every living thing around them!" Erza finished.
That caught Lady, Grey, and Lucy by surprise. "No way." Lucy breathed.
"Then we gotta take them both out right here and now!" Gajeel shouted.
Natsu was about to say something, but he saw Mystogen on his white Legion flying towards the battle. "Wait… where's he going?" They all looked surprised to see Mystogen heading down to the continued struggle between the Dorma Anim and Nelo Angelo.
It would seem neither side was willing to give in as both Nelo Angelo and Faust continued to push their beam-struggle towards their respective opponent.
"Impossible! No being can match the Dorma Anim!" Faust exclaimed.
"I told you we're meddling in forces you couldn't comprehend!" Nelo Angelo shouted. "And now you will…"
He was soon interrupted as he looked up to a glow and saw five magic circles forming above him. Mystogen was to Nelo Angelo's right on his white Legion, pointing one of his staffs towards the Onyx Reaper.
"Five-Layered Magic Circle: Sacred Song!" A condensed beam of magic shot down from the five circles and directly at Nelo Angelo. It blasted him down straight towards the ground, leaving a small dust cloud where he landed.
"A poor choice, boy!" Faust exclaimed as he directed the Dorma Anim towards Mystogen. "Because now I can focus on you!
Faust shot another massive white beam from the Dorma Anim's mouth at Mystogen; but he blocked the attack with his staffs, creating a magic circle to act as a shield.
"Mystogen!" Erza yelled in concern.
"Mystogen?" Faust questioned. "Don't tell me that's the name you chose to called in Earthland. You're name's Jellal!"
"I will not allow you to have your way!" Mystogen shouted towards his father. "Three-Layered Magic Circle: Mirror Water!" Three magic circles appeared in front of the beam, which appeared to absorb it and shoot it back at the Dorma Anim.
"What? He reflected my attack?" Faust thoughts questioned as the beam hit the Dorma Anim directly.
"Whoa. Now that's impressive." Lady said in a whistle.
"Think that got him?" Grey questioned.
"Oh wow. Mystogen's so powerful." Lucy observed.
Natsu's nose picked up a familiar scent. "Hey! Behind you!" Natsu warned Mystogen.
The Edolas prince turned around just in time to see Nelo Angelo flying above him, ready to strike his double bladed scythe at him; but Mystogen blocked the attack with another magic-circle shield.
"You now face enemies on two fronts, Prince. The only thing you've done is seal your fate!" Nelo Angelo said as Mystogen struggled against his dark lightning.
"I know who you are, Nelo Angelo, servant of Mundus!" Mystogen said as he readied a spell. "You've tried to destroy my home and give its power to your dark master. Well I won't let you! Three-Layered Magic Circle: Mirror Water!"
The dark lighting surging on the circle was suddenly sent straight back at Nelo Angelo who grunted in pain as he was forced back. Mystogen then shot two of his staffs outward with his fingers, sending a beam straight at Nelo Angelo who spun his double bladed scythe like a helicopter blade to dispel the attacks.
"Huh, so he's got some skill. Not bad." Dante observed Mystogen with an impressed smirk.
"It's not over yet, look!" Natsu pointed to the smoke in the coliseum's ruins as it cleared, revealing the still functional Dorma Anim.
"I hate to interrupt your playtime boys, but I'm still very much in this game!" Faust said in an almost sadistic joking tone, getting both their attention as they simultaneously pressed their attacks against each other.
"There's barley a scratch on it!" Lady exclaimed in shock.
"You're kidding!" Lucy exclaimed in shock as well.
Coco gasped, as did Lisanna who covered her mouth with her hand.
"That's crazy!" Grey was equally shocked.
"What the hell is that thing made of?!" Dante questioned.
"This is bad." Trish stated in shock as well.
The Dorma Anim began to shine and glow as Faust began his boasting. "Behold! This is the power of the great Wizard-Canceller! You all can attack with all your might but it will not stop me! The Dorma Anim is impervious to all forms of magic!"
He shot out another white beam from the machine's mouth; the beam forced Mystogen and Nelo Angelo to split apart to avoid it. While Nelo Angelo was quick enough to avoid getting hit, Mystogen's Legion wasn't so lucky as he got swept up in the blast. He gave a painful scream at this as he fell to the ground.
"Mystogen!" Erza and Wendy both screamed as they saw him fall.
Faust couldn't help but laugh at this. "The mighty Prince has fallen! I'm sure he'll feel right at home, crawling around with the other pests!"
"You will soon join them as well, Faust." Nelo Angelo stated as he flew at the Dorma Anim and blasted a massive stream of dark lightning at the machine; causing Faust to growl in anger.
"You piece of garbage!" Faust exclaimed as he reengaged Nelo Angelo in battle
Meanwhile; the Edolas Royal Army continued to shoot their magicalization cannons at the fleeing Exceeds, nearly all of them we're getting shot down and turned into Lacrima.
"Lets see that overgrown tuna-can stand up to this!" Lady exclaimed as she loaded a rocket and shot it from her bazooka directly at the Dorma Anim. It did score a direct hit, but barley did any damage. Faust didn't even reply as the Dorma Anim shot a beam directly at Fairy Tail's Legion in response, forcing the creature to move and avoid it, rocking all the riders on top.
"Yeah, I think you just pissed him off, Lady." Grey told her.
"Really? I didn't notice that!" Lady said in annoyed sarcasm with an anger anime mark on her head.
While a few of Faust's shots with the Dorma Anim missed the quick and airborne Nelo Angelo, they did hit many fleeing Exceeds, transforming them into little Lacrima as they rained from the sky.
"Oh what a beautiful sight!" Faust said in amazement. "Take a good look Nelo Angelo, after I've finished with you, I'll turn every Exceed into a shinning lacrima!"
Nelo Angelo smirked as he continued to block and avoid the Dorma Anim's shots. "On that much we can agree." A sadistic smile formed on Nelo Angelo's face. "I do take great joy in watching these pests suffer!"
As all this chaos continued to erupt; a few Exceeds, including the older orange Exceed, two crying kids, and even Shagotte and the four Elders, hid behind some ruins and watched this destruction unfold.
"Leave it to the humans. Only they would come up with such a horrible contraption! And that Nelo Angelo guy is an even worse monster!" the older orange Exceed said in anger and frustration.
"The one who turns the heavens black and brings with it destruction." Shagotte said, referring to the dragon-like armor, getting the three Exceeds' attention.
"The stuff of nightmares, Dorma Anim or the Dragon Knight." Mysdroy said.
"Legend has it that long ago it was used to attack Extalia, and it nearly destroyed all of Edolas in the process." Mejeer informed.
"The humans we're horrified." Muganto continued. "They chose to ban its uses and seal it away forever, and yet here it is again."
"How was Edolas 'nearly destroyed'?" The orange Exceed questioned. "You care to elaborate?"
"I'm afraid we don't know the details." Martarn replied.
"But the legend says…" Shagotte began. "The moment this world lost most of its magic power was when Dorma Anim first turned the sky black."
Faust continued to laugh as he continued to try and blast Nelo Angelo, who returned with his own blasts as well. As they continued to fight; the Legion Fairy Tail used could only dodge some of the missed shots from the earth-shaking battle below them.
"This sucks! How the hell are we able to fight these guys if we're just dodging?!" Grey questioned.
"I don't know, but we have to do something!" Lisanna responded.
"Hang in there, Leggie." Coco encouraged her pet Legion.
"If anyone has any ideas, I'm all-ears!" Trish stated.
Happy had one. "Lets use Lucy as a decoy to distract the bad guys!"
"Shut your face fish-breath!" Lucy comically yelled at him.
"Anyone got any real ideas?" Lady questioned.
Carla looked around. "Wait… has anyone noticed that we're missing a few people?"
Erza, Lisanna, Grey, Lucy, Happy, Lady, Trish, and Coco looked around to see that three certain Dragon Slayers and two special Demons we're not present.
Nelo Angelo used his blades to block one more blast from the Dorma Anim. "Is this really what you intend to do? Just shooting me? Because you can't even…"
His boasting was cut off when a crimson red slash went past him; causing him to yell in pain as he fell to the ground. As soon as he hit it the ground, several white-crescent-moon projectiles shot towards him; blasting him and sending him rolling across the ground of the coliseum ruins.
At the same time; a powerful and firey force hit the Dorma Anim from above in the back of its neck area.
"What?" Faust questioned.
Another attack, one more metal-like struck the Dorma Anim's chest area, much to Faust's annoyance.
"Who's attacking?! I don't understand the Dorma Anim shouldn't be affected by their magic attacks!"
As he yelled, he failed to notice Wendy coming in from behind. "Sky Dragon Roar!" The breath attack hit the Dorma Anim dead on; causing it to stumble back towards the recovering Nelo Angelo.
"Who dares interrupt our battle?!"
Both Nelo Angelo and Faust looked to one end of the coliseum to see Dante, Natsu, Gajeel, Modeus, and Wendy all gathered together facing both the Dorma Anim and the Onyx Reaper.
"Excellent work Wendy." Modeus congratulated.
"Yeah, nice job little sis." Natsu congratulated her as well.
"Thank you." Wendy replied. "But I'm sure all of you guys can cause a whole lot more damage than I can."
"Then lets get this party started." Dante said with a smirk as he swung Rebellion around before holding it out and ready.
Gajeel glared at Nelo Angelo. "You freak, you're gonna pay for hurting my cat!"
Faust glared at them from inside the Dorma Anim. "It was you. I should have known."
Nelo Angelo grunted in annoyance. "Of course, only you fools would stand in my way again."
All their friends looked down towards them from the Legion they rode on.
"Natsu!" Happy exclaimed.
"Dante!" Lady exclaimed to.
"You guys can do it!" Lucy told them.
Dante, Modeus, Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy heard them and saw the Legion fly off.
"Don't worry about us." Dante stated. "We'll handle these bastards. You guys keep the Furballs safe."
"Yeah, we got this." Natsu agreed.
Erza looked down toward them in understanding. "In that case, we'll leave it to you."
The Legion began to fly away. "We're just gonna leave them down there?" Coco questioned.
"Don't worry too much kid." Trish said. "You haven't seen Dante in action like I have. When he gets rolling, nothing can stop him."
"Modeus has got his own surprises to." Grey said. "He was trained by the best swordsman in history."
Lisanna nodded as she looked down toward one particular Dragon Slayer. "They can do it, because they have Natsu with him. I know him, I believe in him, in all of them! The King has his own dragon, but that will be his greatest mistake, because the only one that can stop a dragon is the one who is trained to defeat one. The Dragon Slayers."
Lady looked down as well towards Dante. "You better come back alive."
Dante stepped forward holding Rebellion over his shoulder, on his right was Natsu who straightened his scarf, and on his right was Wendy who looked on with determination. On the left was Modeus who held two black blades and crossed them in an x-formation, on his left was Gajeel who cracked his knuckles. They we're ready to end this once and for all.
Meanwhile; the Royal City, and capital of Edolas, was returning to normal after the failure of the Dragon Chain Cannon; though multiple Exceed-lacrimas rained down from the sky around the city. This could be seen by Panther-Lily, while severely wounded, he was still very much alive, as well as the Exceed who helped him, Belletokia as they we're in a nearby forest on the outskirts of the city.
"Look up there! They're Lacrimas!" Belletokia observed as she saw them fall. "Has everyone been transformed?"
Lily was shaking as he held his wound, some blood could be seen leaking from his back "When the Dragon Chain was severed, the Kingdom lost ten years worth of magic power. Even if they we're able to magicalize all of the Exceeds, they would never be able to recover that much."
Lily struggled to get up. "They've resorted to using the Dorma Anim. If they go to that extreme, then who knows what might happen next."
Belletokia looked with concern. "Try not to move too much because it will hurt."
Mystogen soon approached them from behind. "Lily, thank goodness you're alive."
They both turned around to see him. "Prince." Lily observed.
Meanwhile; back at the ruins of the coliseum; Dante, Natsu, Modeus, Gajeel, and Wendy continued to stand their ground against both the Dorma Anim and Nelo Angelo.
The hiding Exceeds could see them. "Give me a break! You gotta be kidding me!" The orange adult Exceed exclaimed. "Five scrawny humans are taking on those monsters!"
"They must be crazy!" One child Exceed stated.
"Maybe… they're super strong?" The second Exceed child guessed.
The Elder Exceeds had a feeling what would be coming next and they knew to get their Queen as far away as possible.
"Now come along Shagotte." Mejeer advised.
"We need to get you as far away as possible, dear." Muganto said as well.
"If you stay, you're bound to get caught up in the battle." Mysdroy agreed.
Shagotte could only look at the five who would be the saviors of not just Extalia but all of Edolas. All she could do was pray and hope they'd succeed.
"Lets do this Salamander." Gajeel said to Natsu.
"Great, I gotta team up with you again." Natsu said in obvious sarcasm.
"Save it, we got some bastards who need to be put in their place." Dante told them both.
Modeus had a contemplating look on his face as he saw the Dorma Anim and then looked towards Nelo Angelo. "Dante, you and the Dragon Slayers will deal with Faust, I will handle Nelo Angelo."
Dante looked to him with concern; while the Dragon Slayers looked in surprise. "By yourself?!" Wendy questioned.
"Forget that, man! We can help you!" Natsu told him.
"No." Modeus stated. "We don't know the full extent of the Dorma Anim's power, and I do not want to find out. The four of you together; the son of Sparda and three Dragon Slayers, should be able to deal with this monstrosity quickly. I will at least keep Nelo Angelo away as you do this."
"That's not a good idea pal." Gajeel told him. "I can tell from this guy's scent he's got some serious power."
"All the more reason for me to keep his attention away from you." Modeus insisted.
"But…" Wendy tried, but Dante put a hand on her shoulder.
"He knows what he's doing." Dante said. "This guy was trained by my Old Man, I'm sure he's got a few tricks up his sleeves." He looked to Modeus. "But don't go dying on us. I don't think my Dad's spirit would be too happy if I let his student die."
Though Dante spoke in a joking tone, Modeus could tell he was serious and telling him to be careful.
"I will be fine. Do not worry." Modeus said.
Natsu looked a bit uncertain but then accepted it. "Okay."
"Fine." Gajeel agreed as well.
Wendy looked the most concern. "Modeus… just promise you'll come back. Promise me that."
Modeus turned to Wendy with a smile. "Alright… I promise." This earned a smile from Wendy. Modeus' look became serious. "Natsu, I'll need you to create a smokescreen."
The Salamander nodded in understanding. "Got it. Good luck." He lit his right fist on fire as he slammed it into the ground; this created a smoke screen to block the Dorma Anim's vision.
"What are they up to?" Faust questioned.
Nelo Angelo glared at the cloud but looked in surprise to see Modeus running quickly from it and straight for Nelo Angelo. The Onyx Reaper couldn't react quickly enough as, in the blink of an eye, he wrapped his right arm around the villain's neck and leaped high and out of the coliseum's ruins.
As he landed, Nelo Angelo attempted to slash at Modeus, but he let go and jump back a bit of a distance, wielding a sword in each hand. They we're at least two hundred or more meters away from the coliseum's ruins.
Nelo Angelo laughed. "You hope to keep me away so they would be focused more on Faust. A valiant effort, but it will fail just the same."
"Don't be certain." Modeus said in a glare. "I have no intention of letting you get past me."
This forced Nelo Angelo to laugh yet again. "Did you forget? I was created from the essence of Sparda himself, as well as his two sons. Not to mention I have now been further augmented by my master! Out of all of them, Dante was the one who stood more of a chance. But you? You're a pacifist, and a failed one at that. You won't even be cannon fodder for me!"
"Then come get me." Modeus challenged as he took a combat stance with his blades.
"As you wish." Nelo Angelo accepted as he flew forward with his wings; splitting his double-bladed scythe in half, a scythe-blade in each hand as he clashed steel against Modeus.
Back inside the ruins; Dante and the Dragon Slayers could hear the battle going starting outside.
"Looks like they're already going." Gajeel observed as the four glared at the Dorma Anim.
"Then we better get going to." Natsu said with an eager smirk. "I'm all fired up now."
Dante looked up to the robotic dragon. "Hey, your royal pain in the ass!" He called up to Faust with a smirk. "You stole my family, but now I'm gonna pay you back. Make no mistake."
"I would love to see you try." Faust challenged. "With the Dorma Anim at my disposal, I can crush anyone who stands in my way! Even you!"
Dante's smirk turned into a glare. "I've had just about enough of your arrogant attitude, you old prick!"
Wendy then spoke up. "I'll land a hand!" She readied a spell. "Oh Swift Wind That Speed Through the Heavens!" A Sky Dragon magic circle appeared under Natsu, Gajeel, and Dante as they hovered in the air slightly.
"What the…?" Natsu felt this odd feeling.
Gajeel felt the same thing. "This is crazy. My body feels so much lighter."
"This feels almost like my Quicksilver style." Dante thought as he readied himself.
"Vernier!" Wendy had cast the spell; Dante, Natsu, and Gajeel we're surrounded by a red, orange, and green sphere respectively as their own speed increased exponentially.
The three charged forward at almost lightning speed. Faust tried to shoot a beam from the Dorma Anim's mouth, but the three split before it could hit.
"How could they dodge my attack?!" Faust questioned.
Natsu, Gajeel, and Dante practically flew circles around the Dorma Anim. "Whoa! We're really flying!" Natsu cheered at their increased speed.
Faust found himself unable to follow their movements. "I can't lock my targets on them!"
"Alright bros! Let em have it!" Dante exclaimed as he charged forward with his increased speed; slashing Rebellion all across the Dorma Anim's upper body. He then flew straight up before delivering a powerful sword-slice right to the head; causing an impression in the metal that knocked the Dorma Anim down slightly.
"Fire Dragon Iron Fist!" Natsu slugged the Dorma Anim's downed head with a mean right hook.
"Iron Dragon Club!" Gajeel followed through with a speeding pillar to the head of the armor as well.
Dante jumped up above the Dorma Anim with his speed still increased. "Cerberus!" He swung his nunchucks with his enhanced speed that created a more than a hundred, if not a thousand, ice blades that rained hard on the armor with the force of an avalanche.
Natsu, Gajeel, and Dante continued to soar across the Dorma Anim's body laying all sorts of punches, kicks, and sword slices.
Faust could practically feel their attacks from inside the massive armor. "I don't understand what's happening, not even Nelo Angelo's attacks had this kind of effect! Why is the Dorma Anim taking damage!?"
The three continued to fly with their increased speed. "Come on! It should have fallen by now!" Gajeel stated.
"I'll give em credit, that armor's some tough stuff." Dante said as he and the others continued to soar around it and attack.
"This is gonna be tough." Natsu said as their attacks continued to be thrown.
"Let me help!" Wendy prepared to cast another spell. "I Call Upon Thee! The Skyward Claw to Claim the Heavens!" Her magic circle appeared on her hand as she raised it.
Much like before, Sky Dragon magic circles appeared under Dante, Gajeel, and Natsu. But this felt different.
"What's she doing now?" Gajeel questioned.
Wendy had finished the new spell. "Arms!"
Natsu was glowing with a different type of orange aura, as Dante was glowing red, and Gajeel was glowing green. Dante even took out Ebony and Ivory and saw both pistols we're glowing as he held them.
"Wow. First a speed boost, now it feels like I can lift a building!" Dante felt his newly added strength.
"Because its an attack enhancement spell!" Wendy told them.
"You had me at 'attack' kiddo." Dante smirked.
"You two ready to crush this old guy?" Gajeel smirked to Natsu and Dante.
"Yeah, you know it!" Natsu agreed with his own eager smirk.
Faust looked in a mixture of frustration and confusion. "Nonsense! Why is their power increasing all of a sudden?!"
Natsu was the first to attack with another firey punch to the Dorma Anim's jaw. Gajeel followed up with kick to its jaw as well. Dante shot out rapid energized bullets from Ebony and Ivory; due to the attack enhancement from Wendy, these bullets packed an even bigger punch than before as the Dorma Anim was being forced back several feet as Dante continued to shoot.
With Dante distracting it from the front, Natsu came at it from behind. "Fire Dragon Brilliant Flame!" He launched a powerful firebomb from behind, damaging the Dorma Anim greatly.
"Iron Dragon Spear: Demon Wall!" Gajeel launched a powerful attack at the Dorma Anim's side.
Dante looked at his aura from the attack enhancement and soon got an idea. "Quicksilver!" A cyan circle appeared under him and it mixed with his red aura as he blasted forward at the Dorma Anim.
He moved at blinding speeds and it appeared as though explosions occurred over the Dorma Anim's entire body. Dante suddenly appeared underneath the Dorma Anim as it fell on its hands and feet.
"I knew it!" Dante thought with a smirk. "By combining my Quicksilver style with Wendy's own attack enhancement, I can float like a butterfly and sting like a bee on steroids!" He zoomed forward again, with Rebellion in hand he leaped at the Dorma Anim's head as it was recovering and swung with a great deal of force. The combined strength from his own natural demonic power, plus Wendy's enhancement spell, was enough to knock the Dorma Anim completely off balance
"Timber!" Dante called out as the massive dragon armor fell down.
Faust growled as soon as he figured out what was happening. "Its her." He looked directly at Wendy. "You're done for, brat!"
Siloes opened up on the Dorma Anim's back. "Launch Dragon Rider Missiles!" Countless missiles shot out from the Dorma Anim and directly at Wendy.
"Oh shit!" Dante was now worried. "Wendy!"
"Don't worry, I can handle this! Vernier!" Wendy cast the speed-enhancement spell on herself, creating a light blue aura sphere around her as she began to move at quick speeds to avoid the missiles. Several impacted the ground and exploded. However, she quickly discovered the remaining missiles we're following her.
"They're tracking her?" Gajeel questioned, concerned for the younger Dragon Slayer himself.
Wendy however tripped on a rock, and ended up falling face-flat on the ground. She looked up to see the missiles coming towards her, but Dante appeared in front of them and shot Ebony with one hand at the closer ones, and used Rebellion in his other to slash at the ones that he missed.
Dante landed in front of Wendy after all the missiles exploded.
"Dante! You saved me!" Wendy exclaimed.
"Don't worry, I won't let him touch you." Dante promised as he protected her.
Faust looked in shock. "He destroyed all of them? Using only a sword and a gun? But how….?!"
Faust's thoughts we're cut off, as Natsu slammed hard into the side of the Dorma Anim. "Fire Dragon Roar!" He blasted a point-blank breath attack at the armor and Natsu had a scowl on his face.
"DON'T YOU EVER, EVER, TOUCH MY SISTER! YOU HEAR ME YOU BASTARD?!" Natsu angrily yelled at Faust
This only angered Faust further. "Try and stop me!" He then felt some pounding on the armor's back.
Gajeel's hands morphed into iron-hammers as he pounded at the silos relentlessly. "You ain't shooting anyone! You hear me old man?!" He smirked as he jammed the silos beyond repair.
This only angered Faust. "YOU'RE GRADING ON MY NERVES!" He swung his back to get Gajeel off, but he still held onto the Dorma Anim's tail.
Two more missiles we're still left as they we're heading towards Dante and Wendy. "There's two left?" Dante questioned.
"How can that be?" Wendy questioned as well.
Natsu jumped right in front of the missiles and took the impact as they exploded around him. While Wendy looked shocked, Dante smirked as he saw the flames and had a good idea what would happen next.
Faust laughed as he saw these flames engulf Natsu. "It's about time you lowly wizards learn your place!"
"Sorry old man." Dante said, earning a look of shock from Faust inside the armor. "But you shouldn't count your chickens before they hatch just yet."
Before Faust could ask what that meant, he heard a strange sound. He looked with shrunken pupils at the sight of Natsu practically inhaling the flames around him.
"Impossible! He's eating the flames from the Dragon Rider Missiles!?" Faust also heard a crunching noise behind him. He turned around, with the Dorma Anim itself having a sweatdrop on its head and vertical lines as well as Faust saw Gajeel chewing up some of the metal from the armor's tail.
"Is he insane?! Why is he eating the Dorma Anim's tail?!"
"Yeah, fun fact about Dragon Slayers." Dante explained to Faust in a cocky tone of voice. "They can eat anything made of their respective element. Natsu eats fire, Gajeel eats iron, and Wendy eats air. And once they eat it, all their energy and stamina is really shot up."
Natsu finished engulfing the flames. "Man, that was some seriously nasty-tasting fire. Don't think I've ever tasted a flame that gross before."
Gajeel was in agreement as he spat out a single screw. "The iron to. Bad stuff, but even so…."
Dante, Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy had gathered together again, facing the Dorma Anim.
"I'm starting to feel like I've got a real fire in my belly!" Natsu and Gajeel said at the same time.
"Are you trying to copy me, Metal Head?" Natsu joked.
"It was just a coincidence Numb-Nuts." Gajeel joked back.
"Awe look, they're bonding." Dante joked to Wendy, who giggled a bit to.
Faust looked with a flasturgated expression on his face. "Unbelievable! Are all Earthland wizards this powerful?!"
Natsu looked at the Dorma Anim. "Man, this thing's hard core. No wonder they call it a dragon."
"That ain't a dragon, it's just a scared old man inside hiding a big hunk of junk." Gajeel smirked.
"Yeah, most powerful weapon in Edolas my ass!" Dante joked.
"He's out here alone." Wendy began. "Lets end this right now so we can help Modeus finish off Nelo Angelo."
"Took the words right out of my mouth." Dante said.
Outside the coliseum.
Speaking of Modeus, he was having a much more difficult time than his friends as he alone faced Nelo Angelo. He was mostly stuck on the defensive end, clashing both his swords against the relentless assault from Onyx Reaper's scythe-blades. They locked their weapons and glared at each other, but Modeus delivered a cart-wheel-kick to Nelo Angelo's jaw as he back flipped away for some distance.
"He's stronger than before." Modeus thought. "If Mundus has really enhanced his powers than I can't afford to drag out the fight. I have to end this now."
"Demon Sword: Phantom Moon!" Modeus threw both his blades forward, sending multiple crescent-moon projectiles towards Nelo Angelo who slammed his blades together to create a dark electric aura around him to blow away the attack.
But this gave Modeus an opening to come in from behind. "Demon Sword: Residual Moon!" He swung past Nelo Angelo with a glowing blade. A crescent-moon mark appeared on Nelo Angelo's chest; which exploded in white energy. This caused Nelo Angelo to grunt in pain as the force pushed him back.
"This ends now!" Modeus' swords we're now glowing red. "Demon Sword: Chaotic Moon!" He crossed both red blades in an x-formation and threw them forward. This created a spectral image of the full moon, glowing red with red lightning around it. It shot forward straight at Nelo Angelo and exploded upon contact, much larger than most of his attacks.
The attack faded, leaving only smoke. Modeus sighed. However, he soon heard the sound of laughter, causing him to look in shock as the smoke vanished and it revealed that Nelo Angelo barley had a scratch on him.
"Is that it?" Nelo Angelo questioned. "Was that you're best shot?"
Modeus looked in great surprise. The Chaotic Moon technique never failed him before. "How….?"
"Don't look so surprised." Nelo Angelo began. "I told you, my own prowess has been greatly enhanced. Combine that with the physical essence of Sparda, Dante, and Vergil that make up my being, than those attacks, while powerful enough to take down most foes, is useless against a true herald of Mundus!"
Modeus tried to erase his look of shock as he took a combat stance and faced Nelo Angelo yet again. "It doesn't matter. Even if I am unable to defeat you, I need only keep you busy. I doubt even you can defeat three Dragon Slayers, and a true heir to Sparda."
Nelo Angelo however shook his head with a smirk. "You don't think I'm aware of your plan? You separated me from that battle so that Dante and the others can be more focused on Faust. You think they can defeat the Dorma Anim?"
Modeus' eyes widened in surprise. "He knew the plan?!"
"While it is true, that those four, who are some of the strongest of Earthland's inhabitants may be able to damage the Dorma Anim, they remain ignorant of what it truly is." Nelo Angelo began to explain.
"What are you talking about?" Modeus questioned.
"You'll see before long." Nelo Angelo answered.
Inside the ruins
As Dante, Natsu, Wendy, and Gajeel continued to face Faust, he looked on at his four opponents. "These are the Dragon Slayers…. But… who is this one?" Faust looked at Dante. "He is clearly not a Dragon Slayer, yet…. The power he has…. I've never seen anything like it…. It… it may be very well greater than anything I've seen before." A mad look in his eyes formed.
"His power… Their power… I will not rest until I have it for myself!"
A dark purple and black magic aura formed around the Dorma Anim. Streams of dark energy began to emerge from the ground and form from the air and fly straight to the Dorma Anim.
This earned a look of surprise from the four. "What's happening?!" Gajeel questioned.
"This is bad guys… its gaining power!" Wendy said. "Pulling it from the air!"
"And it's flowing into the armor!" Natsu saw.
"Not just the air, the ground to." Dante observed. "Its like… this Dorma Anim thing is absorbing the very essence of this entire world!"
Outside the ruins
Nelo Angelo and Modeus both saw the dark streams enter the coliseum's ruins and into the Dorma Anim.
Modeus looked in surprise and concern. "What is this?" He wondered out loud. "What is happening?!"
"Dorma Anim's true power." Nelo Angelo began to explain to Modeus. "You want to know why the humans we're so scared of it? Not just because of its destructive power, but because it draws power from Edolas' own magic. Due to magic being finite in this world, there is strong reason to believe the Dorma Anim could drain it dry. Imagine it, all of Edolas' magic, every ounce of it, essentially the very essence of this entire world, being condensed and absorbed into one single weapon."
Modeus' pupils shrunk. "No…."
"Yes." Nelo Angelo said with a laugh.
Inside the ruins
The four continued to watch as the Dorma Anim absorbed more and more power. It began to shift and change as well.
Faust chuckled as his insane train of thought continued to sprout new ideas. "If I capture the Dragon Slayers… and even this Dante… I'll be able to start my Anima-project all over again."
Dante and the Dragon Slayers backed up slightly as the Dorma Anim's changing form cast a dark shadow, which loomed over them.
"They're the key to everlasting magic power for Edolas!" Faust continued to think. "Wait… what am I thinking? They're weapons! I should secure them for myself! With their power, not only will I be able to kill Nelo Angelo, but also I may even have the power to rule both Edolas and Earthland! If they happen to get damaged in the process, then so be it!"
Faust began to speak out from the transforming Dorma Anim. "I shall rob you of the will to fight! You'll be begging me for mercy! Witness the power of Dorma Anim's BLACK HEAVEN!
The four looked in shock as they saw Dorma Anim had transformed. It stood upright, looking much taller. Its armor was completely black, the blades on its arms we're much longer, and its eyes we're an even darker red.
"Oh crap." Dante grimaced.
"I've got you now!" The newly transformed Dorma Anim launched its right arm-blade at the group. Natsu took the worst and was sent flying from a smack of the arm straight to the wall. But he immediately launched back at the armor with a flaming fist. Faust however was able to block it with almost minimal effort.
"You'll have to do better than that!" Faust flew Natsu back and sent him flying.
Dante was next as he tried to shoot at it with Ebony and Ivory, but the bullets barley seemed to scratch it. "What the hell…?!" Dante questioned.
Faust laughed. "You said something about having enough of my attitude, boy!?" The Dorma Anim swung its blade at Dante. The increased speed caught Dante by surprise as he was flung to the opposite wall just like Natsu.
"No! Dante! Natsu!" Wendy screamed.
"That thing took both their attacks and didn't even flinch!" Gajeel exclaimed in shock.
Faust continued to laugh. "Can you feel it?! This absolute magic power?! It's spectacular!" He exclaimed joyously as he raised his right arm blade, and it glowed darkly with magic power. "Don't bother falling to your knees and begging for your lives! Stay right where you are! So I can watch you tremble in fear!"
Natsu and Dante both recovered in their respective spots to see the glowing purple blade the Dorma Anim was preparing to use.
"YOU CAN'T STOP ME! I'M THE ONE DRAGON YOU CANNOT SLAY!" He swung the blade down to the ground, creating a purple energy shockwave that shot right at Gajeel and Wendy, causing them to scream in pain as it engulfed them.
Faust's maddened laugh rung throughout the area. "WHO IS LEFT THAT CAN POSSIBLY CHALLENGE ME!?"
"I'll take you on!"
Faust looked down from the Black Heaven Dorma Anim and saw Dante, breathing heavily, with blood dripping down his head and side, but still standing tall with Rebellion.
"Hmph. You are determined; I'll give you that much, boy. But determination will only get you so far. Give up, you can't possibly hope to stop me."
Dante spat some blood before glaring at the Dorma Anim. He then stuck up his middle finger. "Go to Hell, old man."
This seemed to anger Faust. "You insolent little…" He raised his arm blade as he prepared another strike. "I'M NOT ABOUT TO LET SOMEONE LIKE YOU TALK LIKE THAT TO ME!"
Dante held Rebellion in both his hands as he stood his ground. "Bring it on."
They both surged at each other. Dante clashed Rebellion against the glowing arm-blade of the Dorma Anim. Both blades locked against each other as a strong and powerful aura surged around them. Both grunted and glared at each other as they pushed against each other. Powerful winds surged, Dante's hair and coat flailing violently as he struggled against the immensely powerful Dorma Anim. The strain from their struggle created small shockwaves, rocks crumbled into dust around them as the whole island they we're on felt like it was going to crumble apart.
Outside the ruins.
Modeus could feel the ground shake as he looked at the light coming from the struggle that was taking place.
"This… this is…"
He then felt a sharp pain in his chest as his eyes widened and pupils shrunk. He looked down to see Nelo Angelo piercing his scythe-blade through his chest and the Onyx Reaper smiling evilly.
"I'm sure Sparda taught you many things, but apparently he never taught you to keep your eyes on the enemy at all times. You left yourself wide open."
Nelo Angelo withdrew the blade as Modeus fell to the ground, clutching the bleeding wound and barley breathing.
"Don't worry, you won't die yet." Nelo Angelo said as he towered over him. "I want to keep you alive long enough to see all your precious friends die. After that, I will slowly cut you to pieces, until finally all that's left of you is your heart." He lifted his blade to his mouth and licked the blood from it in a sadistic fashion.
This left Modeus to desperately thinking of finding a way out of this situation.
Mystogen, who was still with Panther-Lily and Belletokia, was also witnessing the battle. "Forgive me, Natsu." Mystogen said, as he did regret leaving them alone to fight the mad king.
"You're highness… what's going on?" Lily questioned, his wound was wrapped in bandages and Belletokia flew to support him under his arm to keep him up. "I saw what happened…. Why did you let him hit you?"
Mystogen turned to Lily with a smile. Lily knew the Prince enough to guess what he was thinking.
"Don't tell me you did it to save me."
"I was worried about you." Mystogen said.
"I'm fine." Lily told him. "It's barley a scratch."
"That's not true." Belletokia contradicted. "You're in a lot of pain right now and you know it."
Mystogen looked back at the battle. "We have no choice but to leave the Dorma Anim and Nelo Angelo to Natsu and the others. We have another matter to attend to."
"What might that be?" Lily asked.
Mystogen had a serious look on his face. "I have one final task, and I know I won't be able to do it without your help."
Lily looked surprised. What could Mystogen possibly be planning?
Meanwhile; the Royal Army Legion Platoon had caught up with the Exceeds and we're shooting them with their Magicalizing-cannons, turning them into lacrimas.
The Legion that had Coco, Erza, Lady, Trish, Lucy, Lisanna, Grey, Happy, and Carla on it caught up and was able to see what was happening.
"This is horrible…" Happy breathed.
"I never thought the Royal Kingdom would resort to something like this." Lisanna stated.
"I can still hear them screaming." Carla said.
"The Royal Army, we've almost caught up to them." Erza said as she held a sword in her right hand.
"Good." Lady stated as she cocked one of her pistols. "I'm eager to put these bastards in their place."
"There's so many of them." Grey saw the large number of soldiers.
"What'll we do?" Lucy wordily asked.
"I can think of one thing." Trish stated. "We'll kick all their asses! Send these pieces of crap straight to hell!"
"Yes! The Exceeds are counting on us!" Erza agreed.
"I wanna help you guys fight, to." Happy said with determination.
"Me to, we have to whatever we can to protect our homeland." Carla agreed.
However, there was someone blocking their way. "I've been waiting for you… Scarlet."
"Oh come on!" Lisanna complained upon seeing the Edolas version of Erza.
"What do you want with me, Knightwalker?" Erza demanded as her Edolas counterpart gave a smirk.
"Tell me, where is Dante?" Knightwalker questioned. "Is he too much of a coward to face me?"
"No, he's busy kicking your bastard-King's teeth in, bitch." Lady told her. "You know, kinda like what we're gonna do to you."
Knightwalker smirked. "Don't be so overconfident."
Trish turned around and saw something that made her look really annoyed. "Uh guys, we got company."
There was a massive platoon of Royal Army soldiers, all mounting Legions behind the Fairy Tail members.
"Oh no, it's a trap!" Grey exclaimed.
"We've been ambushed!" Lucy exclaimed as well.
"Get us out of here Leggie!" Coco told her Legion as it began to fly away. But countless energy blasts shot out from the ground, almost like machine-gun fire as the Royal Army soldiers tried to shoot them down.
One blast was able to hit the Legion in the stomach, which blasted everyone off. "LEGGIE! NO!" Coco called out to her pet as she, Lucy, Grey, Lady, and Trish all fell.
"Happy!" Carla told him.
"Aye Sir!" He knew what she meant as they flew down after them.
"Take Over: Animal Soul: Wings!" Lisanna's arms transformed into green and pink bird wings a she flew down with Happy and Carla to try and catch their friends to.
Happy saw the transformation and looked in shock. "Wait…. How can you do that?! Only the Earthland Lisanna…." He gave a gasp. "Lisanna…. Is… is that….you….?"
Lisanna then remembered how he was never told that it was indeed her. "Happy, I promise I'll explain everything to you later! But right now, we have to help them!"
Happy looked at her for a moment and realized she was right. He nodded as they and Carla flew after their friends.
Knightwalker saw them all fall. "Those who dare threaten our king cannot be allowed to live! We cannot let them escape! Head to the surface!" She ordered her soldiers.
"Yes Captain!" They all replied as they flew down to finish them off on the ground.
Meanwhile; Carla was able to catch Trish, who held onto Coco; Happy was able to catch Lady, while Lisanna was able to catch Grey and Lucy who held onto her.
Carla was having some trouble with her load as Coco was flailing in Trish's arms. "Please, you have to stop flailing child unless you want me to drop you!"
"But we have to save Leggie!" Coco cried out.
"Thanks Carla." Trish thanked her before turning to the younger girl. "Hey you heard her! Quit squirming or we're gonna fall!"
Lisanna was also struggling with her decent. "You okay, Lisanna?" Grey asked.
"Yeah… never carried... two people before." Lisanna struggled.
"Please don't drop us!" Lucy comically said as she clung harder to Lisanna to avoid falling.
Happy also struggled a bit as he carried Lady. "Oh man, you're so heavy!"
"You're so dead if you drop me, cat!" Lady comically yelled.
Happy then realized something. "Hold on, did we forget someone? Where's Erza?!"
Lady looked up, and smirked at what she saw. "I don't think we have to worry about her."
Back in the air, Erza was able to use a chain to wrap around the throat of one Legion and swung herself to gun straight for Knightwalker with a sword-in-hand. Knightwalker looked in shock but recovered quickly enough to block her sword with a spear. They clashed metal a few times before locking weapons.
"Trying to sneak up on me?!" Knightwalker questioned.
"I'm ready to finish this once and for all! I've had enough of you!" Erza exclaimed as they continued to struggle against each other.
Erza jumped back and off the Legion with Knightwalker following behind her. "Get to the surface men! I can handle this one myself!" She ordered as she and Erza landed on the ruins on a floating island.
"Yes Captain!" The soldiers all flew down on their Legions as Erza Scarlet and Erza Knightwalker faced each other.
Knightwalker looked at the environment that would serve as their battlefield. "Hmph. The ruins of one of the wretched cat's ancient cities. This seems like the perfect place for your grave."
"Wishful thinking. I will not die by your hand." Erza stated as her body began to glow, she was reequipping. "I can't believe that someone with my face could ever cause Fairy Tail so much pain!"
Knightwalker glared at Erza. "Well I can't believe that someone with my face would bear their fangs at the king!" She stated as her weapon began to glow
Erza had requipped into her Heaven's Wheel Armor with dual swords in hand. "Come get me!"
"I'll be more than happy to." Knightwalker accepted the challenge, as her spear became a powerful mace.
They leaped into the air and clashed weapons, both with the intent on ending the other. One thing they would agree on, this would be their last battle.
"I'll never stop fighting! Not until I've rid this world of you!" Both Erzas exclaimed at each other as their final battle began.
Done.
So a lot of things are happening as the Final Battle for Edolas erupts…
*Dante, Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy face off against Faust in the Dorma Anim
*Modeus finds himself in a battle for his life against Nelo Angelo
*Grey, Lucy, Lisanna, Lady, Trish, Coco, Happy, and Carla fight the Royal Army
*Erza engages her Edolas counterpart Knightwalker in one final duel.
Before you ask; NO I am NOT killing Modeus, he just suffered a serious wound. Nelo Angelo wants to keep him alive for as long as possible as he tortures him. But Modeus may have a hidden trick up his sleeve, one that even he might not know about.
No spoilers, you'll just have to wait and see.
Some of you may wonder why Dante is struggling against the Dorma Anim. Well, Nelo Angelo himself said it, it is a weapon that basically absorbed the energy of the entire world. So basically Dante is fighting all the magic in Edolas. So yeah, its gonna be a bit of a challenge for him.
Sorry again for the wait, as I've said I've had a lot going on. I will continue this story, no date given on the update as I've got my own things in life, and other stories to work on, but this is still continuing. Thank you for your patience.
