Chapter 12
MK and I went to the next area and we stopped to see Sans, who looked at me with confusion at first before he then smiled, as per usual.
"heya. i see you helped another one, huh?" Sans asked, me smiling at that.
"Guess who it is and win a free cinnamon bunny," I smiled at him.
"goner kid, also known as monster kid's grandmother. right or wrong?" Sans asked, MK looking at him in surprise.
"You're correct. Impressive..." GG smiled in my head.
"You got that right, Sans. Now here's your prize," I smiled as I then took out the cinnamon bunny from my inventory and gave it to Sans, him smirking and putting it in his pocket.
"i'll eat it later. so, how'd you meet with goner kid, indie?" Sans asked.
"Well, she actually appeared to me on my way through the marsh, right before a bridge that Undyne chased me on," I said, MK looking at me in confusion.
"Huh? Undyne was chasing you? Why?" MK asked.
"Well... you know how Undyne always is on the hunt for humans?" I asked, her nodding at that. "Well, surprise, but I'm actually one of 'em," I said, MK gawking at that.
"Really? You're a human?" she asked, me nodding. "Whoa... that's so cool! I've never met a human before! I didn't know how nice you guys could be!" MK smirked at me.
"Thanks for the compliment, kid," I smiled at her. "Also, I have another bit of secrecy for you," I said as I then whispered it to her ear. "I have a plan to bring the prince back to life as well as Chara, the first fallen human," I said, MK gawking at that.
"Really? How? That'd be even cooler than anything Undyne could do if you could do it!" MK smirked.
"I found Asriel's soul on my way through Snowdin in a secret room that was password-protected, and he's actually in my inventory right now. And as for Chara? Go ahead and hold onto my hand and look to my left," I said, MK doing so with her head and gawking at what she saw.
"But it's crucial that you don't tell anyone about this other than who we tell you to, okay, MK? Because there's a very mean flower that's trying to get Indie killed and has a nasty vendetta against Asriel and me. Do you promise not to say a peep about our presence?" Chara asked, MK smirking at that.
"I promise!" MK smirked as she wagged her tail and Asriel breathed a sigh of relief.
"Phew... now I can feel safe talking again," Asriel said with a smile.
"I also promise not to speak a word of this... at least, not until we can find a way to pacify this flower you speak of," GG said in my head.
"Hey, Goner Kid? Could I shorten your name to GG? You know, since you're a gram gram," I smirked, me hearing a half-hearted chuckle from them.
"Sure, I don't mind. It's easier to roll off the tongue," she smirked as we then proceeded to the south and I then got the idea to put on the tutu that I got from earlier... only to find it was a bit smaller than I would've liked. I then looked at MK and smiled.
"Hey, MK? How would you like to wear this?" I asked, MK looking at the tutu and smiling.
"Sure, I don't mind! In fact, that tutu looks cute," MK giggled as I then put it on her and she smiled after putting it on.
"That tutu belonged to one of the 6 humans that got caught by Undyne. Wear it with pride," I smirked, MK smirking widely at that as we then proceeded further and we came across Woshua, who looked at me with a derpy expression before I saw that my body could use a bit of freshening up. "Hey, mister? I know it may seem weird to ask, but are you good at cleaning things? Cause I need a wash badly," I said with a smile.
"Green means clean," Woshua smiled afterwards as he then sent some suds attacks at me and I made sure to make my soul and myself get hit by the green ones, my body immediately becoming clean from any and all grime afterwards at the expense of getting a bit wet.
"Thanks, bud!" I smiled at him.
"Always a pleasure to clean others up," Woshua smiled as he then left shortly after giving me 35 gold coins. We then moved forward again and we came to the river area with Onionsan, his tentacles appearing from the water and then him appearing shortly after in the cutest way possible.
"Hiya there, bud! I'm Onionsan! Who're you?" the big and cute vegetable monster smiled.
"I'm Indie, this is MK. Nice to meet you, Onionsan," I smiled at him.
"Nice to meet you as well! It feels nice to meet new people," Onionsan smiled happily and me nodding at that.
"I couldn't agree more," I smiled as we then moved a bit and Onionsan followed us in the water. "So, question of the day, but how tall are you, Onionsan? Cause your head is as big as my entire body," I asked, Onionsan giggling at that.
"I'm actually 20 feet tall if you include my tentacles. I have to sit down in the deepest parts of Waterfall, but I know that, when Undyne gets the last soul, we'll finally be able to see the surface! She said I could go live in the ocean! I heard it's super deep, perfect for me!" Onionsan smiled widely.
"Well, I actually wouldn't know what the ocean here would look like... little known fact, but I'm actually from an alternate reality... I got warped to this one out of nowhere when I was playing a video game... and in my world, our oceans were so deep, that you couldn't see in front of your face after about a thousand feet of deepness... and some of my world's oceans were deeper than 30 thousand feet," I said, Onionsan gawking at that and MK doing the same.
"Really? That sounds so cool! You come from a world with that kind of awesome stuff? How'd you get to this one, then? And how do you plan on going back to your world?" MK asked.
"Well, I was warped to this world after I said a name of someone from this world... someone that basically forced me to come here to fight him so that he could be freed from an eternal torment. He had the same problem as GG did, trapped in the Void, which forced people to forget about the existence of those lost to it... Gaster was already dead, however, so he gave no EXP or LV... but like I said, I didn't want to fight him. It was basically the only reason he got me to warp to this world," I said, MK gawking at that.
"Gaster? Who's that?" MK asked.
"Yeah, who is that? I don't remember a guy like that," Onionsan frowned.
"He was the original Royal Scientist before Alphys got the job. Gaster was the one who created the CORE in Hotland, which is what ended up killing him and sending him to the Void shortly after," I said, MK gawking at that.
"Whoa... I was taught that Asgore made the CORE, not Gaster... so how come you knew about him?" MK asked in confusion.
"Well, I'd tell you, but it's kind of a super mega secret. And since we're in the open, that flower could be anywhere hoping to listen in on us," I said with seriousness.
"Yeah, besides, we don't know if you'd believe it. It's kind of difficult to believe," Asriel admitted.
"Okay, how about you tell me when we get to someone's house and away from prying ears?" MK asked, me smirking at that and looking at Onionsan with a smile.
"Sure, that sounds safer. And Onionsan? How would you like something to eat? I have a spare cinnamon bunny from Snowdin," I said, me taking it out of my inventory and Onionsan smiling at me widely.
"Thanks, miss human! I LOVE these things!" Onionsan smirked happily as he took it with one of his tentacles and ate it, me literally seeing hearts appear above his head as we got to the end of the passage. "Looks like there's no more water here. See you later, friends. In Waterfallll..." Onionsan smiled as he waved goodbye and I did the same, us then going forward again... only to see the monster I wanted to reunite with her family the most. Shyren. And she looked like she was crying softly. I then started to hum a tune that I liked from the game, it being Metal Crusher. And when Shyren heard it, she started to hum along with me, though her music notes did attack my soul, they just brushed against it and did no damage before disappearing from the forcefield's effect. I continued to hum the tune along with her until I then decided to change it up and hum the tune to Spear of Justice, which Shyren managed to hum the last bit in a final toot that made her smile and blush big time.
"Impressive humming skills, miss. What's your name?" I smiled, her smirking at me with a shy blush.
"Shyren... I'm Shyren... and... what's your name?" she asked.
"I'm Indie Gamma and this is MK... would you like to tell me why you looked a bit down?" I asked, Shyren sighing, but she did still keep her smile on her.
"I just... I really miss my sis... she went to Doctor Alphys nearly 24 years ago to get healed up from a bad injury... but after Alphys said she could come home, she then hid her away... same with everyone else. I... I just want to see my sister again," Shyren said with a small frown and tears soon after, me then taking her fishy body and hugging her gently, Shyren smirking at my gentle touch.
"Well, I have a proposition for you, Shyren. I'm going to go meet with the king, so that means I'll be going to Hotland on the way. And Alphys is there, so I think I'll try to convince her to tell everyone about the test subjects and have them come home. Would you like that?" I asked, Shyren smirking widely.
"I would really like that... but good luck trying to talk to Alphys, Indie... she never opens her lab doors for anyone except Undyne. She's become a complete shut-in," Shyren said.
"Oh, don't worry... I'm sure I can find a way to get to her," I smirked widely as I then gave her a small hand-to-fin shake and she smiled at me. "Stay strong, hon. I'll reunite you with your sister. That's a promise from me to you, okay?" I smirked.
"I trust you, Indie... I'll be waiting and humming until then," Shyren smiled. I then looked at MK on our way forward through the area of the cave that was underneath a river, the cracks above us making it rain a bit, but I didn't care about it too much.
"So tell me, Indie... you sounded a bit positive whenever you were talking about saving Shyren's sister. Is there something more to this story?" MK asked, me smirking at her happily.
"I think I'll have my friend tell you," I smiled as I held my hand to MK's head and Chara then began to explain it to her.
"Indie comes from a world that knows pretty much everything and every detail about this one. Because it was a video game in her universe," Chara said, MK gawking at that.
"Really? SO COOL! So that's why you sounded so confident! You probably reunited them before, haven't ya?" MK asked with a smile.
"Well, yeah, but it's a bit more complicated than that..." Chara frowned. "See, there's a good reason why Alphys never told anyone about what happened to them. She injected them with human Determination using the souls of the 6 humans to revive them from near-death. But even though they woke up as if nothing happened, Alphys injected them with so much fo the stuff, that their bodies couldn't handle it... they melted and molded together into different beings that were called Amalgamates, monsters that are a combination of three or more different individual ones, all sharing one body and being made up of every single soul that combined them... Shyren's sister was made into an Amalgamate called Lemonbread, who is also made up of a Moldbygg and a relative of Aaron," Chara said, MK gawking at that.
"Oof... that sounds spooky, to be honest," MK said as we then got to the cliff and I was able to get up it easily with my upper arm strength, me then reaching down and grabbing MK so she could come with me. "So how are we going to save them? I mean, you must have some kind of plan, right?"
"I do. Since my soul is filled with a very high FUN value, I have a small theory on how it could work... maybe, if I came into contact with them, then it may just be the cure they need. But that's just a theory, no way to tell unless I can find out on my own," I said, us continuing down the path until we came to the very long and rickety bridge. And after I moved along it for a bit, I then saw the ground start to glow.
"Hold it, kid. Danger lurks nearby," I said, the light actually disappearing shortly after and me being confused at that.
"Human," I heard Undyne's voice say from below us, me looking down and seeing she was below me and holding a spear in hand. "Let that kid go right now," Undyne said, MK looking at her in confusion.
"What are you talking about, Undyne? She's my best friend!" MK smirked, that actually making Undyne look a bit taken aback.
"But they're a human! You can't be friends!" Undyne said angrily as she then jumped from below and got in between me and MK, me looking at Undyne with a frown.
"MK, you should probably find another route ahead. I'll escape from this tomboy easily," I said, MK nodding and rushing off from where we came from, Undyne growling at my choice of words.
"Tomboy?! What the hell is a tomboy?" Undyne growled as she formed a spear in hand.
"It's a term used to describe a girl that does more manly things. Like a girl who enjoys weight lifting and sports instead of playing with dolls and putting on makeup... but enough about that, I think it's time for me to escape now. Bye," I said as I then rushed down the path and Undyne chased after me angrily, me feeling a couple different spear slices against my body, but it did nothing to me and Undyne looked shocked at that.
"H-HEY! GET BACK HERE AND STAND STILL!" she exclaimed as I then made it to the dead-end and I looked down to see that the ground was very far away.
"Okay..." I sighed as I looked behind me and saw that Undyne was growling angrily beneath her helmet. "Bye for now, miss Undyne," I said as I then jumped off the bridge down to the ground below, me closing my eyes and bracing for impact... but color me surprised when the fall didn't hurt me too much and that a patch of golden flowers were underneath my feet. I then looked at Chara and she smiled at me.
"You're welcome, Indie. And next time, how about you jump down to an area that's much less smelly?" Chara asked in annoyance.
"Fine, I know I wouldn't want to ruin your manicure," I smirked at her.
"Oh har-dee-har-har," Chara complained, me smirking at her. She may have been dead, but she still had that sassy nature to her.
