Chapter 21
Asgore got onto his throne and clanked his staff against the ground so that a small camera would appear out of the ground, him then turning it on as well as holding a microphone to his mouth. "Attention all monsters Underground. Today marks the start of a new era... one of peace, kindness, and mercy. Today, numerous miracles have happened. Prince Asriel and Princess Chara are now alive and well once again. The barrier is now shattered and we can finally see the sun and the moon. And every one of the human souls is able to have a second chance at life... and it is all thanks to a singular human named Indie Gamma... would you like to talk to the citizens, Indie?" Asgore asked, me smiling at that and nodding. He then aimed the camera at me and gave me the microphone afterwards.
"Hello everyone. If you recall, I fell down here yesterday out of nowhere and have managed to do a lot of good in this world... but the thing is, you may not believe me, but this world is not the one I originally came from... a freak accident happened in my home in an alternate universe, caused by someone who has been lost to us for many years, that being Professor W.D. Gaster... he brought me to this world from my own, as I had an infinite FUN value, meaning that I could finally save this world from one thing that most people don't realize... this world was caught in a time loop that happened shortly after the monsters lived on the surface, where the entire day would start out back at square one with the 7th human falling into the Ruins... but today, all of that has changed," I said as Asriel then took the microphone to prove that he was alive again.
"Indie was brought here by Gaster for one reason. To give this world a happy ending, freed of any and all time paradoxes... but in order to do that, she had to do one thing. She had to defeat Gaster in battle, ending his torture that he had to endure in a plane of existence known as the Void. Shortly after his death, the time loops ceased to exist and the world was safe from being 'reset'. But Indie still had to find a way to resurrect myself and Chara... at the time, I was in the form of a talking flower, after a failed experiment shortly after the 6th human soul was collected... Indie found my soul behind a hidden door, provided by Gaster, in order for me to be able to return to my old self and be able to destroy the barrier with the human souls, as I still have Chara's soul in my body... Chara? You want to explain your part now?" Asriel asked, Chara nodding and taking the microphone and the camera zoomed on her, but she still felt a bit shy as her cheeks became rosy red.
"I... I want to apologize to everyone down here... all of this chaos started because of a plan I had in place... I poisoned myself with buttercups so that Asriel would take my soul, cross the barrier, and collect 6 more souls from the humans, gaining enough power to free everyone down here... but when we were combined in one body and mind, we were constantly fighting for control... I wanted to harm the humans, Asriel didn't want to... shortly after they killed us, thinking that Asriel had killed me when they saw him with my body in hand, my spirit was all that remained in the Underground after Gaster took Asriel's combined soul and put it into hiding... I couldn't be seen or heard by anyone until Indie showed up, as she had her infinite FUN value. And through a bit of circumstance, we found someone willing to give me a new body as well as inhabit my spirit to their soul, giving me a second chance at life... his name is Jevil and, as he states, he can do anything. And that included changing his original form to look like I did before I killed myself... you're free to show your real form if you want, Jevil..." Chara said as Jevil then did just that and showed his real form, Asgore looking a bit surprised by it.
"And as for my say in this matter... could I get a drum roll, please?" Jevil asked, me not even daring to do anything... but Sans did. He did a drum roll on the ground with two conjured bones and Jevil then spoke the words that we hated. "I can do anything!" Jevil smiled, me changing the camera to myself just so I could show myself face-palming, Jevil snickering at that and me feeling that the Underground was going to be bursting out in laughter at my reaction to it. "But in all seriousness, I was hoping to take Indie's soul for myself so I could be freed from these time loops, as her world is full of freedom and has no such time loops... but her world? It's worse than anything that came from this one. So, I decided to stay behind after she confirmed there would be no time loops and offered to give Chara a second chance at life. Now she's got to put up with me for quite awhile," Jevil smiled at that last bit.
"Jevil, you're kind of killing the mood here," I frowned at him.
"Ah, ah, ah! Every single event needs to have the comic relief, now doesn't it?" Jevil asked, me smirking at that.
"Maybe you should ask Mettaton. He'd be more knowledgeable on the subject than any of us," Alphys giggled.
"Ah, of course! Chara, do you mind if we go and seek out Mettaton now?" Jevil asked.
"Fine, just get me away from that camera and turn me back into my form," Chara groaned, Jevil snickering as he then did just that and then teleported the two of them away in an instant.
"So... um... how do we end this broadcast?" Toriel asked.
"I know how... by laying down some ground rules when we get to the surface," I said with a serious attitude. "Rule number one, no monster shall ever lay a hand on a single human on the surface unless they get a job that requires that to happen... Second rule, we will outlaw anything related to soul fights on the surface as well as monsters taking human souls. Because that's how this whole ordeal got everyone trapped Underground. And third and most importantly, we must be passive and nice to any human we come across, no matter how nasty they may treat us when we get there. Sure, some of them may be willing to hurt and even kill monsters... but if we just prove to them that monsters mean no harm, over time, we can get everyone to live happily on the surface, without fear of segregation between the two races of humans and monsters... do those sound alright with you, Asgore?" I asked, him smiling at that.
"Yes, those rules do sound good... and one final thing I wanted to mention... I am stepping down as king of the monsters the moment we leave the Underground... and in my place, Indie Gamma will become the ambassador for monster kind. And the plans of Armageddon are officially canceled... I have regretted that decision since the very day I declared war on humanity... and now that my family is alive and well once more, I see no reason to be vengeful at the humans anymore... the way to the surface is at the back end of my throne room, so everyone should take the elevators from the CORE and MTT Hotel in order to reach the castle and see the surface," Asgore spoke, me smirking at him as Toriel smiled at us happily and Undyne proceeded to hug Alphys happily, me seeing Alphys blush all over when Undyne kissed her on the lips, which I thought was adorable. And then the numbers appearead above her head of 9999, but they had hearts in the circles of them and it was colored pink.
"HER LOVE POWER IS THROUGH THE ROOF! YOU'VE GOT MY FULL SUPPORT, UNDYNE!... NOW, ABOUT THE ROYAL GUARD... IS THAT STILL GOING TO EXIST IF THE KING IS NO LONGER THE KING?" Papyrus asked as I noticed that Asgore had turned off the camera.
"Well, even if there isn't a Royal Guard, I do know one job you can do that'd be way better than being in the Royal Guard, Papyrus," I smirked, him looking at me in confusion.
"AND WHAT WOULD THAT BE, INDIE?" Papyrus asked.
"You ever hear of Italian restaurants? They specialize in pasta dishes. And what is your favorite food to cook?" I asked, Papyrus's eyes immediately turning into hearts from his little pupils.
"YOU MEAN I CAN MAKE SPAGHETTI FOR EVERYONE?! AND THEY'D LIKE IT?!" Papyrus asked with excitement.
"That's the idea. And you can name your pasta restaurant "The Great Papyrus's Pasta Palace!". Sounds awesome, doesn't it?" I smirked, Papyrus blushing at me saying his own title.
"hey, indie? take it easy on him. he looks ready to bust a nut," Sans said, me smirking at that.
"But skeletons don't have nuts... do they?" I asked, everyone looking at me in confusion minus Alphys and Undyne, who simply blushed.
"What are you referring to?" Asriel asked, me then realizing that, when he was naked before, he didn't have anything showing down below...
"Um... okay, this is awkward... do I really have to explain it? It's kind of embarrassing..." I said, Alphys then smirking and stepping forward.
"W-Well... the nuts that she's referring to... I saw them in an adult anime once... it's another way of saying... a part of a male human's anatomy... and yes, it is really embarrassing," Alphys said, her entire body blushing red all over.
"It's a part of the body that humans use to make babies. There, I said it for all of us," Undyne said, the kids giggling at that and all of the monsters immediately blushing shortly after that understood what that meant.
"Okay... yep, this has officially became awkward... very, very awkward," Bob said, me then walking over to him and giving him a small hug, Bob being a bit confused afterwards.
"Um... why are you hugging me?" Bob asked.
"Sorry, I just like hugging kitties and you look exactly like my kitty back home," I smiled at him.
"Oh?... Well, I wouldn't mind living with you, if that's what you're asking... I need to get away from those other Temmies, after all," Bob said with a blush on his white and fuzzy cheeks, me smiling at him happily.
"Now we can only wait for everyone to get to the castle... in the meantime, I say it's time that we go up and be the first to see the world above," I said, everyone smirking at that.
"I really want to see it... but I want to wait for Shyster first... I want to see it with my sister by my side," Shyren smiled.
"and i'd rather wait as well... i want to stay behind until everyone is out of the place, then i'll leave last... i just want to see if the world resets or not... and if it does... i'm officially done with everything..." Sans sighed, me looking at him with a small smile.
"Don't worry, Sans... I won't let this world reset anymore," I said as I then went forward ahead of everyone and started to think to Charlotte. 'Charlotte?... Are you done meditating? Because I have a very serious question to ask of you," I said, her then responding in my thoughts, as no one behind me reacted when she spoke.
"Yes, I'm finished... and I feel better... what is this question?" Charlotte asked.
"You would know, since you can see past the game's boundaries and to the outside world... is this world safe from people resetting it? Or is my Switch and PC going to be able to be used by anyone else?" I asked, Charlotte sighing as I could feel her eyes become my own as I saw time stop all around me... and I was able to see from my side of the screen to the other side in my room... and I saw that it had been through hell. My entire room was in complete shambles and the screen was the only thing that worked... and my Switch and computer? They were in plain view of the television, completely trashed from fallen debris and busted into five pieces each.
"Your world encountered a nasty hurricane shortly after you entered this world... I am unsure of how it happened, but this world is completely safe from time loops, especially since the source of the time loops are destroyed completely," Charlotte said, me smiling at that.
"Good... and it's better that I remain here in this world than return home to my own... I feel that this life will offer me many good things," I said, Charlotte sighing at that.
"I sure hope so..." Charlotte frowned as I then noticed time flow freely again and I noticed that... for some reason, I had black liquid under my eyes. "And... you may want to clean that off before the others notice it... unless you want to tell them about me..." Charlotte said, me sighing at that.
"Only if you're comfortable with it," I said to her in thought.
"Yes... the kindness in your soul... I feel at peace... for the first time in ages..." Charlotte said as we then got to the surface and we saw a sight that was never in the games. Rather than it being the sunrise or sunset... we saw the moon, its rays of reflected light bathing the land in a gorgeous light blue hue, the group of monsters next to me looking at the sight with awe.
"WHAT IS THAT GIANT SPHERE OF WHITE IN THE DISTANCE? IT LOOKS LONELY," Papyrus asked.
"That's the moon, Papyrus... and it isn't lonely in the sky at all. Look up all around the sky," I said, everyone then doing just that and looking all over the skies to see the sight that I'd wanted them to see for a long time. The stars in the sky.
"Oh wow! They look just like the glowing rocks in Waterfall! What are those things?" MK asked in wonderment.
"Those are the stars... each of them is a very distant version of our very own sun, some of them being trillions of miles away from us, and some even further... it's hard to imagine that this world is only one of numerous worlds, each one having their own star to give them warmth and light," I said, Alphys and Undyne actually tearing up at that.
"Undyne? Are you crying?" Snowy asked her with worry.
"How can't I cry?... It's so beautiful how she said that..." Undyne said with tears in her eyes.
"Well, now's as good a time as any to say this, since Undyne's in a good mood... Alphys let me read your letter after she read it," I said, Undyne's tears immediately drying up and her looking at me with a glare. "Don't worry, I'm not saying the words that were in it. I just wanted to come clean and admit that I did a wrong thing," I said, Undyne smiling at that.
"How humble," Undyne smirked at me with a wink, but only then did she notice that the bags on my eyes were actually dried blood. "Um... what happened to your face? You get cut or something?" Undyne asked, everyone then looking at my eyes with a frown.
"No... there was one thing that I neglected to mention during that meeting in there... I did manage to rescue one person that wasn't from this world... and I'm not talking about Jevil this time... this girl was from different versions of this reality, where murderous humans killed everyone Underground and gained LV 20 after killing Asgore in cold blood... and this person stole the souls of these murderous humans so that she could try to find a way to stop the worlds from suffering anymore from time loops... and she's... well..." I was about to say before Charlotte spoke.
"Chara... I'm an alternate version of Chara..." Charlotte said, the group looking scared stiff when they heard the deeper voice Chara, but me holding my hands up shortly after. "There's no cause for alarm... let me explain why I'm a part of Indie... you see, I had gained a lot of power from stealing the souls of thousands of Genocidal maniacs before I sensed Indie's soul... I then tried to attack her while she was asleep via battling her in her dreams... but her FUN value was so high, it not only prevented her from taking damage, but anytime I hit her with an attack, her soul would attack me on its own... and each successive attack took hundreds of the souls away and shattered them with each hit I made... when I only had one left, Indie finally managed to calm me... and offered me a second chance, as she did to all other people in this world... though her LV is now the same as mine, that being 20, she wants to help me find a better meaning in life... a life of mercy instead of bloodshed," Charlotte said.
"So... do we still call her Chara?... Or, what?" Mr. Snowdrake asked.
"Her name from now on is Charlotte... and try to be courteous to her, because she's even more shy than the Chara in this world," I said, them nodding at that as Charlotte smiled in my head.
"Thank you, Indie..." she sighed as I then looked at the moon once again.
"I THINK WE'VE STOOD HERE FOR LONG ENOUGH. LET'S GO FIND THE NEAREST TOWN AND SAY HELLO!" Papyrus smiled, me shaking my head no at that.
"Sorry, Papyrus, but that's not a good idea... even back in my world, humans tend to be very cranky when woken up, and people always fall asleep when the moon is out. Not only that, but people are very wary of others if they come and visit them at 3 in the morning... back in my world, that's usually when people would break into houses and do bad things," I said with MK looking confused.
"What kind of bad things?" MK asked.
"Stealing stuff, destroying property... harming innocent people... but that was in my world... I have no idea what the humans in this world will be like, to be quite honest," I admitted.
"I think I know a little bit... but not much... when I ended my journey at the ends of all those time loops... the last thing that I did was go to the beach with Undyne, her kissing me on the cheek... and after I blushed all over, the resets happened, undoing everything and leaving me a nervous wreck at the start every time," Alphys sighed.
"So then what do we do, then?" Toriel asked.
"We should wait for everyone to leave the Underground, then we'll march down to the base of the mountain and set up a camp and sleep until morning comes. Then we'll go to the nearest village as a singular group," I said, everyone nodding in agreement at that.
"Sounds like a plan," Undyne smirked at me. And now we had to play the waiting game.
