Chapter 23
It didn't take long at all for word of mouth to reach the nearest city, even as we made our preparations in the village... and Chara and Charlotte were a bit anxious to be sleeping where we were, since I chose the house that they used to live in when they were still alive, which we shared with a family that were actually distant relatives to the two of them, but all of them were nice, not at all like Chara's original parents. We ended up staying in this house with them, the Dreemurr family, and Bob while the other monsters either slept under the starry sky or got houses with the other citizens... and literally the very next day, we were approached by some news people, who were immediately wanting to report the story... but I was hesitant, especially considering the media in my world.
"If we find out that you report on what we tell you untruthfully, then just know it will only lead to all of us having more trouble in the future for doing nothing wrong," I said, the news reporter looking at me in confusion.
"What are you talking about, young lady? The law states that news stations must only report the truth. Otherwise, we get very hefty fines and some reporters get thrown in jail," the reporter said, that being drastically different than my world.
"Sorry, then... I'm new to this stuff, still," I frowned to her as we then told them the whole truth about what happened, though we did leave out the parts about the time loops, anything related to Toby Fox, and my origins, which they were understanding about the last bit, since I told them that part would be a bit confidential. And shortly after, the reporter got a call on her cell phone and she then sounded confused before she handed it to me.
"It's for you, miss Indie," she said, me holding the phone and speaking into it.
"Hello? This is Indie Gamma... Who is this?" I asked.
"Hello, miss Indie. This is the President of the United States... I just watched the news and got the surprise of the century... is all of it true? The monsters really are still around? And they've been imprisoned under a mountain for centuries?" the voice asked, me wondering if it really was the president.
"Yes, all of it is true... do you think that we could meet soon? I'm their ambassador and I want to make some new rules in place to protect both humans and monsters so we don't have anymore wars," I said, the President humming in agreement.
"Your location is the small village of Ebottown by Mount Ebott, right?" the President asked. And yeah, that was the name of the village we were at... somehow.
"Yes, that's the location," I said with a smile.
"Okay, I'll send some transports over there so we can meet in person, miss ambassador," the president said, me smirking and blushing at that.
"I'll see you soon, mister president. Bye," I said, us then hanging up and me then being even more confused at how we could have cell phones, televisions, and reporters, but we didn't have any other modern inventions for cooking or lawn work. I then decided there would be one last thing that I'd have to ask Charlotte about.
"What is it?" she asked with annoyance, me then going out of earshot of the reporters and citizens of the town to talk to her in private.
"I wanted to know... is it possible for Toby to return to this world?" I asked, her gasping at that.
"Y-Yes, it is... what's your plan?" Charlotte asked.
"I wanted to know... you can help me see through the screen to my world, so is it possible for us to go directly to the screen of Toby Fox in my world? So that we can give him a proper spooking?" I asked, Charlotte snickering at that.
"That sounds perfect. The perfect revenge," Charlotte smiled as she then had her power stop time all over and I then opened my eyes to see that I could see that I was looking right inside of Toby Fox's room and that he was currently sleeping in the bed.
"Toby Fox. Come over to the computer, you bastard," I said, getting him awake and him to be confused.
"Ugh... who turned my computer on?" Toby asked as he then got out of the bed and then looked at the computer, him being confused more than scared. "And who put this as my screensaver?"
"I'm not a screensaver, Toby," I said with a smile as I could feel Chara's bloody eyes and mouth start to form on my body, Toby being scared when I spoke. "Listen to me, you bastard. This world that you created, the world of Undertale... Gaster sent me to this world to prevent it from having time loops. And you are the cause of them! So tell me... what should I do to you?" I asked with a smile as I then reached forward and was actually surprised at how my arm could exit the screen and Toby was stunned when I grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, him sweating all over.
"P-Please, don't do anything to me... I just wanted to make a game!" Toby said with worry, me frowning at that.
"A game that has its own reality. How in the hell do you manage to create an entire reality based on an entire game?" I growled, Toby gulping at that.
"I... I... It was just an experiment..." he said, me frowning at that angrily. He did create an entire reality with time loops just to punish people in that reality with his 'game'.
"Well, here's what you're going to do now, Toby. You must prevent any further time loops for all of the Undertale files of every single player. If you don't do that, I will find out and I will return to put an end to your life," I said angrily as I then did the creepy laugh and I saw that my laugh was even deeper than Chara's, Toby being scared so bad that I could hear him shit his pants!
"And don't even think about trying to hide from us. We can find you from any screen in the world," Charlotte said in my voice before then returning into the screen with a snicker. "I hope to never see your fucking, deplorable face again!" Charlotte growled as I then found I was back where I was before when Chara took control of my body and, as I expected, my shirt and pants had splotches of blackened blood on them, as did my face.
"Whoa! What the heck happened to you?!" asked one of the citizens, me looking at him with a groan. "Did the monsters do that to you?"
"No, they didn't... see, my soul is shared by two other people, one of them being a human with an LV of 20. It's her that makes my eyes and mouth bleed black, but only whenever I want to look at my world... it's only through her powers that I can see my world via through electronic screens," I said, the human frowning at that.
"And where's the proof?" he asked.
"I'm the proof," Charlotte said as she then forced my soul out of my body to show him the fact that my soul was combined with another one... and he looked shocked.
"W-Whoa... that's a very spooky looking soul combination... one's completely black and the other is very dark red," the guy said, me nodding at that.
"Don't worry, because even though I've got a scarily strong soul, I am a complete pacifist," I said as I then had my soul enter my body again and I sighed. "Do you think that you can get me some kind of wet cloth for my face?" I asked, the guy rolling his eyes afterwards.
"Fine, come with me," the guy said as he then got me a wet rag and I got the black blood off of my face afterwards.
"I'm sorry about the black blood, but it's just a side effect... you know, of all that LV and EXP," Charlotte said with a sigh.
"I know, and it's okay," I said as I then saw that Jerry, Bob, and Burgerpants were all talking to each other, me noting that their eyes and parts of their faces had turned black and white upon further inspection.
"So... what are the names of you three?" I asked, them smirking at me saying that.
"We had a feeling you'd know we were in control as of current, human," the one in Burgerpants said with a smile. "I'm called Fang," he said, me remembering he was the slime guy.
"I'm known as Flatbread... dumb name, isn't it?" said the one inside of Jerry, me remembering he was the gingerbread looking guy.
"Eh, I've grown accustomed to all of the pun names by now," I said with a smile.
"Like your name being a pun of Indiana... and Indie Gamer, right?" asked the final of the group, me actually giving it a good think before I then gave myself a good thunk to my face when I realized he was absolutely right. "Haha... anyways, I'm Assistant Hans, the one that still holds a small piece of Gaster to this very day inside of me... but it isn't a part of his body, rather it's a part of his clothes," he said, me breathing a sigh of relief at that.
"I thought that you were gonna say that the head you always held in your hand would've been the part of Gaster," I said honestly.
"No, that was actually my head and it was always attached to my hand," he said.
"So what were you talking about?" GG asked them.
"We were trying to sense the state of the other timelines... for some odd reason, all of them have been finalized and are no longer being reset... we have no clue as to why," Flatbread stated.
"Because me and Charlotte gave the real-life Toby Fox the scare of a lifetime, as you can see from the black blood on my shirt," I said, them looking at it and then at me. "And before you ask, no, I didn't harm the guy. The blood was from Charlotte's powers making my eyes and mouth bleed black," I said, them nodding at that.
"Yeah, we're aware... as for the Genocide paths, it seems that... well, the Frisks in those timelines actually feel regret for everything they did... some have committed suicide, others have simply stayed in the king's palace in his place, and others actively went on to call Alphys and tell the monsters about what happened, as the Frisk characters were always mute whenever the Player was in control of them... and not all of them end happily... in fact, most of them are quite somber affairs, with the only thing being remotely good is that Alphys took the Frisk's 7th soul and combined it with the others to destroy the barrier, with her becoming the ruler of the monsters after having taken action to evacuate as many people as she could, which really boosted her confidence," Fang said.
"I see... at least us scaring Toby actually left a lasting impact on him. He's finally done with the time loop nonsense... at least, I hope he is... but we did give him a very fair warning that, if he did try to mess with the time loops again, Charlotte and I would find him and kill him, since our combined powers can have parts of our body exit the screen to attack him directly," I said with a sigh.
"We can only wait and see as well as live life to the fullest... it'll be a bit difficult, though, because not all the humans in this village are trusting of us monsters," Hans said.
"it'll probably be that way the world over for a good while... at least, until we can show them the true nature of pacifism..." Sans said, me smiling at him as he appeared right next to me via teleportation. "jevil wanted me to come and get you so he could give you some magic lessons. he's going to teach you the basics while we wait for the president's transports," Sans said, me smiling at that.
"That sounds like it'll be a blast," I smiled.
"i'm sure it will... and after your business is done with the president, i'd say we should go to the amusement park right away," Sans smiled, me nodding at that.
"I'm going to get you to ride the biggest coaster at the park then, Sans," I smiled at him widely.
"go ahead and give it your all, indie. if you don't, i might end up falling asleep on the teacup ride," Sans smiled.
"How do you, though? Because those things can spin around pretty fast," I smiled widely.
"don't ask questions ya can't handle the answer to," Sans said, me smiling at that as he then led me to the jester so I could start my magic training. And I had all the time in the world to train with him.
