August woke up with a headache, and a sore throat. He felt groggy, and tried to call for his parents.

Then he remembered what happened.

He lowered his head and began crying again. Tears dropping onto his now completely ripped up sweatshirt.

Then, he heard his stomach rumbled, and quickly wiped the tears from his face.

He opened his eyes to look around at his surroundings, and noticed something was off.

Everything around him looked a little cartoonish, and he noticed one more thing.

All the trees were huge.

Be noticed that the mangled car that contained his parents wasn't there anymore, neither was the cliff. Everything was just forest.

His stomach growled again, reminding him that he needed to get some food in his stomach.

He began looking around trying to find anything that was edible to subdue his stomach.

He looked down from a small hill, and noticed a small town.

He sighed in relief, not just because he was hungry, but because he didn't want to be lonely anymore.

He started making his way down the hill to the town, hoping to find something to put in his stomach.

He got to the bottom of the hill and treaded towards the town.

Once he got close enough, he noticed something.

These buildings were massive.

He got worried when he saw this, and started walking very slowly to the town.

Once he started walking deeper in the town, he started seeing the inhabitants of this town, and he was left in awe.

Ponies. Colorful ponies.

He quickly hid behind a building to avoid being seen by one of them.

It was then that he noticed a cart of baked goods.

His stomach growled in satisfaction this time, and he made his way over to the cart.

Once he got there, he looked up at it. He saw that he was way too small to make his way up to the top. He then saw the spokes of the wheels, and decided to use it as a makeshift ladder. He had to jump high to get from spoke to spoke.

After he finally made his way up to the top, he was ready to finally put something in his belly. But then he saw that he wasn't even as big as a cupcake.

He tried to climb up the cupcake using the cupcake wrap, but the wrap started coming down over him and he fell back down.

He tried again on another cupcake, but then he heard a loud shout.

"Hey! What are you doing?" He heard a high pitched voice say, which caused him to trip and fall off the cart, which to him, was a long way down.

He hit the ground with a thud and a cry, and noticed a massive shadow looking over him. He looked forward and saw what appeared to be pink legs.

He curled up on the ground, terrified of what would happen next and began to cry.

"Who... Wh-what... what are you? A-Are you alright?" The giant pony said to him but he didn't listen. He quickly came up on his feet and ran away from that location as fast as he can.

Five minutes later he was still running with tears in his eyes. He kept running until he reached a large gathering of trees, which he saw were apple trees. He thought that this would be a better idea, since he didn't see any other ponies around.

He began climbing the huge tree, grabbing by the bark. Trying his best to reach the top of the tree.

Once he got there, he saw a massive apple connected to a branch.

He bent himself down, and jumped into the apple. The apple, however, didn't budge.

He tried jumping up and down on the apple to try to loosen it, but to no avail.

Then he heard footsteps coming his way.

"So what did it look like exactly, Pinkie?" One of them asked in a sort of country accent.

"I don't know all the features of it exactly, because it was so teeny-weeny. It was trying to take a cupcake from my cart." Another pony, he recognized as the one from before, responded.

"Well don't worry, we'll find the varmint. I just hope that it doesn't try to take any of my apples."The country girl said again.

August quickly jumped on a leaf to hide, but accidentally fell to another causing an audible russle in the trees.

"Did y'all here that?" The country voice said.

"It was coming from this tree." The pink pony said.

"Back up a little Pinkie. I'm gonna buck it real quick." The country voice told her.

Suddenly, he felt an immense vibration, that made him trip and almost fall off the tree. That vibration came again, this time knocking him off the leaf and onto the ground. He landed on the ground and cried. He looked up and saw the two ponies towering over him. One being the pink one from earlier, the other being an orange mare.

"There you are you little varmint!" The orange one yelled.

August scaredly looked up at the orange mare towering over him. Tears started streaming down his eyes and he darted back.

"There ain't no use in running, you rodent!" She called after him, hoping he would stop. Seeing that he wasn't going to, she started to give chase.

Not wanting to hurt the small creature, she stayed a little behind him. Her plan was to wait until the creature got tired.

August ran for a good thirty seconds before he tripped and fell to the ground. He began to cry on the ground, terrified of what she was going to do to him.

She took notice of his scared demeanor and calmed her own, "Now, now there, there ain't no reason to be scared. I just want ya to have a talk with one of my friends." She said to him. She bent down and reached her hoof down to pick him up.

August saw this and jumped. He began to back up on all fours, terrified. He looked behind him, and saw a very tall fence made of metal bars. He was small enough to fit through it, so he chose that route and darted away from her as fast as he can.

"Oh, shoot! You know what, I'm gonna just go get Rainbow." Applejack said to herself and then trotted off.

Meanwhile, August was still running away, wondering why this had to be happening to him. Crying.

After running for a good five minutes, he spotted a small patch of trees, empty this time, except for leaf. In the middle of it all, was a small pile of hay.

He was starting to get tired from running so long. So he decided to take a break there.

He walked up to the hay pile and climbed on top of it. He laid down on it and closed his eyes.

He must have fallen asleep, because when he opened his eyes again, the sun was in a different position. He carefully climbed down from the hay pile and started walking.

A few seconds later, he heard what he thought was a jet engine.

Without warning, he was pinned to the ground.

He saw that it was a cyan hoof holding him down. He tried to wiggle out of the grasp, but to no avail, as the hoof was bigger than himself. His arms and legs were trapped.

"Ha! Applejack seriously had a problem catching this tiny little thing?" He heard a female voice say. He looked up and saw a cyan furred, rainbow maned pony. It was the one holding him down.

He began to cry again, tears streaming down his face, afraid of what was coming next.

Rainbow felt the little creature trembling under her hoof and saw little tears streaming down it's face. She loosened her grip on it, making sure that she wasn't hurting it.

August, however, continued trembling and crying.

"Hey, little guy, I'm not gonna hurt you. I just wanna make sure you don't go anywhere while we wait for Fluttershy to get here." That sentence was indeed truthful, as hurting beings smaller than themselves was frowned upon, and never done, especially to ones as small as him.

His trembling calmed down a little, but he didn't stop crying.

"Rainbow Dash, what are you doing to the poor thing?" A very quiet and shy sounding voice said.

Rainbow Dash carefully lifted her hoof off of August.

"I wasn't hurting it, Fluttershy. I would never dream of hurting something as small as it. I was just making sure it didn't leave before you arrived " Rainbow Dash replied.

"Well, okay, I believe you, just... try your best not to hurt it." Fluttershy replied and turned to the small creature. She immediately noted its terrified demeanor.

"Oh, you poor thing." She said and walked over to it.

"Uh, are you sure you don't wanna talk to it about trying to take other ponys property? I mean, I know it's tiny, but that's not okay to do for anypony." Rainbow Dash told her.

"I don't think it knows exactly what it has done. Look at it. The poor thing is petrified." Fluttershy replied, and picked up August with a hoof.

"I'm pretty sure it knew exactly what it was doing," They heard Applejack's voice frim behind them, "It was hiding in my apple tree trying to take one."

August was scared, being in the grasp of one of them terrified him, but he thought maybe if he talked, then they wouldn't hurt him.

"I-I'm sorry..." August replied in his small child voice, causing all of them to stare at him with shocked expressions, "I-I d-didn't know it was y-you're property. I'm really s-sorry. Just, p-please, don't hurt m-me." He finished and started to sob.

AJ, Fluttershy, and RD all stared at him with the same shocked expression.

"I-It can talk?!" Rainbow asked rhetorically.

"He sounds like he's just a young'un." Applejack said, still shocked.

"The poor thing, it's just a baby." Fluttershy said

They were all still suprisee, but regained their composure a hit when they realized that he was crying.

Fluttershy brought him close to her and lightly hugged him, "Hey, little one, it's okay. Shh..."

"Yeah little buddy, it's okay, you didn't know. We're sorry for scaring you." Rainbow Dash almost whispered.

"Hey, lil fella, could you tell us your name and how old ya are?" Applejack asked quietly.

He looked up slightly and said, "M-my name is A-August ma'am, and, I'm f-five.

Despite them knowing he was young, they were still shocked when he said it.

"You're five and you're out here all hy yourself? What are you, anyway, and where are your parents?" Rainbow calmly asked him. Rainbow wasn't usually good at this type of stuff, but seeing this tiny boy upset made her heartache. However, she didn't know that she made him more upset with just one word.

Parents.

He shook and drooped his head down. He now began sobbing audibly.

Their sad expressions now turned into that of great worry. Applejack and Fluttershy both looked at Rainbow.

"What? I didn't say anything! You know I didn't!" Rainbow told them.

As they watched him sob with worried expressions, Fluttershy came up with an idea.

"Why don't we take him over to Twilights? We could figure out what he is, and maybe he could open up a little more. We could introduce him to our other friends to." Fluttershy suggested.

They all smiled and agreed with a nod. With that, they trotted towards Golden Oaks Library.

On their way there, they took turns holding August
