***Hello, everyone! Yes, I am bad at titles, but I do love the fluff. Anyways, I don't own Victor or Yuri, but I do own Koyuki. She's the one I mention in my other fic, but this can be read as a standalone. Let's go!
Victor had been awake for over twenty-four hours now, sitting in the hospital room by the bed. He would have normally been exhausted after staying awake for so long—he'd done it before, with the amount of world travelling he'd done.
But back then, he was younger, and he wound up dead on his feet when it did happen. Now, he was older, and he actually had some energy in him this time.
That was because he now had a newborn baby girl sleeping soundly in his arms.
It had taken around twenty hours of labor and a solid hour of pushing, so Yuri was getting some well-deserved rest at the moment. After Yuri's family had left for the hotel they had been staying in for the past week or so in order to be close when Yuri finally gave birth in St. Petersburg, Victor was free for some quiet bonding time with his daughter. His Koyuki Katsuki-Nikiforov.
He smiled as he gently moved the pink blanket away from Koyuki's face. Her head was covered in white hair (Yuri had blamed his awful heartburn during pregnancy on that, despite loving how adorably it flopped into her eyes), and focused brown eyes had only stayed open for a short amount of time before she'd had enough and fallen asleep.
"Hi, Koko," Victor said, his voice just above a whisper as he ran his fingers on Koyuki's soft, pinkish skin. It would likely become paler as time went on. The newborn's eyes opened, allowing chocolate irises to view the world.
"You know Dad's voice, don't you? I've talked to you for a while now, but maybe it sounded a little weird while you were in Daddy's tummy," Victor said.
Koyuki wiggled around in her little bundle, letting one chunky arm slip out of her bundle. Victor extended a finger, and Koyuki wrapped tiny fingers around it. Victor smiled. Then, he let out a contented sigh.
"There are a lot of people who are excited to see you, you know. You're a special baby girl. Everyone's going to want to come and see you once I spread the word that you're finally here. Chris has wanted to spoil you for months now... Phichit will be happy... Minami will probably tear up on the spot... Yuri will act uninterested, but we all know he's happy about a little baby... Otabek will just kind of follow Yurio's lead... and Seung Gil will probably show actual emotions for one," he said.
Then, he pressed a little kiss to Koyuki's forehead. "But no matter what, no one else will love you as much as me and Daddy. We both have loved you, every since we found out you were in Daddy's tummy."
It was after that when Victor began to think about the past nine months. He remembered, despite how hard it was on Yuri's body, that there were moments both of them would forever remember.
Getting paint on each other's clothes as they painted the nursery walls purple. Victor gently rubbing the growing bump of Yuri's stomach as they laid in bed together, rambling on about whatever popped into his mind. Victor secretly (well, not so secretly) watching Yuri's awkward duck waddle as he got closer to the end of his nine-month ride.
But nothing, the Russian decided, would ever top getting to hold Koyuki for the first time. It was recalling that moment that made Victor's eyes well up with tears.
But it was when he realized that Koyuki was smiling up at him that made the tears spill over.
Victor smiled back, wiping away his tears. "That's my baby girl."
***Short and sweet, the product of my boredom today. Be sure to leave a review on the way out, and I'll see you all in the next one! Bye!
