Gideon clenched his fist as he stared at the newspaper in front of him. The sound of vacuuming came from outside the bedroom window. Gideon exhaled deeply. He closed his eyes, took a breath, then looked back at the paper. He clenched the sides of the paper tighter as the sound of the vacuum got louder. Gideon looked around at his dark room. Posters and were strewn across the walls, plushie dolls of Gideon stared back at him with lifeless eyes. The lamp on his dressing table flickered, making Cheekums the hamster chitter nervously.
Gideon walked over to his pet. "Don't worry, Cheekums. Once I destroy the Murder Hut, my fans will come back to me. Oh, they will! I will prove to them that I am the greatest business in Gravity Falls!" Cheekums chittered again over the vacuum. He must be scared. Gideon leaned closer to the cage. "And once I destroy the Pines, I can get to a better lamp, and a bigger cage, and MA, WILL YOU STOP THAT RACKET, I CAN'T HEAR MY SELF THINKING!" The sound outside immediately stopped. Gideon turned to the cage, expecting no more disturbances when his father slammed the door open.
"Gideon Charles Gleeful, do not disrespect your mother. And clean up your room this instant!"
Gideon spun around and pointed a chubby finger at his father. "I can buy and sell you, old man!"
Gideon's father looked at him and shrugged. "Fair enough." The door closed. Gideon grinned. Yes, of course. It was too easy. He could just buy this upstart Pines and his company. Then no matter where the tourists choose to go, the cash flows right into Gideon's pockets. It was almost too perfect! Gideon turned and petted Cheekums softly. "Soon, Cheekums. Soon I will own the Pines' company. Then I will truly be the greatest child in all of Gravity Falls!" Gideon giggled. Menacingly.
Cheekums chittered again. "What was that, Cheekums? Oh, you're right. My dear cousin, Pacifica. Well, the Northwests have always been ahead of the game. I don't think it's fair on me to count her. And on top of that, she's dating Marius! As if she wasn't already destined to be rich forever." Gideon turned and looked into the mirror. "I can get to the same level as her, then everyone will see how great I am! Even my darlin' Mabel. She'll be my queen." Cheekums chittered. "Oh shut up, rodent."
Cheekums chose to chew on a gummy bear.
Gideon decided that he would visit Stanley Pines immediately. He tightened his bow tie and held the amulet attached to it. It glowed blue. He had convinced most of the simple people of Gravity Falls that it was the source of his psychic powers. Of course, he wouldn't tell them the truth. Ignorance is bliss, as they say. Gideon sprayed his hair some more and left his house. He had a company to take over.
The Murder Hut was as disappointing in real life as it was on TV. When Gideon watched Shandra Jimenez report the strange house in the woods as a new tourist attraction, he couldn't believe what he was seeing. This could become a tourist attraction? As if! Gideon walked towards the Hut, holding in his breath as he passed a pile of god-knows-what in the clearing. There was no way he would allow this to be so dirty when he gets his hands on the property. Gideon knocked on the door.
Stanley Pines opened the door, wearing the same suit he wore on TV. "Uh, hello? Oh. Gleeful."
"Why hello, Mr Pines! I was hoping I'd run into ya."
"You... came to my house."
"Well, let's not discuss that. Instead, I've got a bargain."
"Not interested." Stanley tried to close the door, but Gideon wedged his foot in the doorway.
"It may involve you getting more cash in your wallet." The door opened, revealing a grinning Stan Pines.
"I'm listening."
"Well, I was thinkin', why bother having you start a business on yer own? Just work for me! I'll pay you as much as I pay the rest of my staff!"
"No."
"But what if I also offered a couple thousand dollars for this land?"
Stan rubbed his chin, looked up thoughtfully. He looked at Gideon. "How much?"
"Two thousand dollars."
"Forget it."
"Three thousand dollars."
"No."
"Ten thousand dollars."
"Gleeful, I'm not interested in your deal."
"What?" Gideon stepped back. "But I need it!"
Stan pushed Gideon's foot back with his own and closed the door. Gideon slammed the door with his knuckle. "You're gonna regret this, Pines! You've made a terrible mistake! I will get my hands on this property, and I will destroy this Murder Hut!" The door opened again. Stan stood there with a broom in his hand. "Shoo, Gleeful!" Gideon felt the end of the broom smack his soft face and he stepped back. He moved back until he was out of reach.
"You think you can stop me? I'm Gideon Cha-" Stan stepped forward and smacked him again. Gideon grunted and decided to leave. There was no choice. He ran off and turned and spit at Pines but slipped on some mud. He got back up and looked at the mud, except it wasn't mud. It was the pile of dung. "Oh, Pines," Gideon muttered as he walked away. "You've just made a terrible enemy."
Gideon was lost in his thoughts, walking away from the woods, when he heard someone call his name. "Gideon?" He looked up to see Dipper and Mabel Pines. "What are you doing in the woods?" Mabel asked.
"M-Mabel! My darlin', Mabel. Your Grunkle Stan is insane! He won't sell the property!"
"Darlin'?" Mabel repeated, looking repelled.
"Won't sell the property?" Dipper looked at Gideon. "Of course not! We've worked hard on the Hut, and we're not losing it to the likes of you."
"The likes of me? The likes of me! As if we'd like to deal with your kind!" Gideon stepped forward.
"My kind? What's that supposed to mean?" Dipper stepped forward too.
"Dipper, let it go. It's just Gideon." Mabel tugged Dipper away. They passed him and walked into the woods. Gideon watched as Dipper took his Mabel away from him, leaving him standing alone in the woods. "Oh, Dipper Pines. You and your Grunkle must have a death wish."
"Just leave them alone."
"Don't you understand? They can't be as good as us! They'll never be as good as us!" Pacifica didn't reply to that. Giddeon quickly realised why. "Except for that Dipper Pines. How disappointing for you to come second to Dipper Pines."
"Shut up."
"I guess even the perfect Pacifica has her flaws." Pacifica didn't respond. She wasn't frustrated by his insults at her. But then, could it be...? "Still, it's not like that Pines is good at anything else in life, is it?"
"Shut up, Gleeful."
"You... care about Pines?" Marius, who had been silently watching the cousins whipped his head around to look at Pacifica, who looked shocked.
"What? Of course not! I just don't think it's worth spending your breath on them!" The table was silent for a second. Pacifica was breathing slightly harder than before. Marius was looking at his girlfriend strangely, and Gideon was trying to decipher the truth. Gideon decided that he couldn't understand it. He had better things to tend to, anyway.
"Very well, cousin. I hope you enjoy lunch. Marius, Auf Wiedersehen."
"Ja, Auf Wiedersehen, Gideon."
Once Gideon was out of sight, he pulled out his phone from his pocket and started scrolling through his contacts. It seemed Dipper Pines was not only keeping Mabel away from him but also affecting the resolve of Pacifica. If Gideon wasn't careful, Dipper Pines could lead to his downfall. Gideon needed to get rid of him, at least until the Hut belonged to him.
At last, he found who he was looking for. He pressed the call button and held the phone to his ear. "Ghost-eyes, you there?"
"Gideon!" Ghost-eyes exclaimed through the phone. "Yes, of course! What do you need?"
Gideon grinned. "I heard you wanted a break from doing meaningless duties for me. Is that true?"
"N-n-no, of course not, boss!" Gideon shook his head lightly. He liked the loyalty that Ghost-eyes and the others showed him, but they were terrible at faking their boredom. Gideon looked around to make sure nobody was listening. Then he whispered into the phone. "I need you to do a job for me."
There was no response. Gideon thought he had gone too far, but then he heard a grunt. "Who?"
"Dipper Pines. Don't kill him, just break his arm. Or a leg. Maybe two legs. Just break something!" Gideon moved his hand to his mouth. Maybe he was being too loud. Still, once Dipper Pines is out of the way, Gideon will finally be seen by the people of Gravity Falls. No longer will he have to deal with a vacuum constantly disturbing his thoughts, no longer will Pacifica have the upper-hand, and Mabel will be free to date him!
Gideon took out some hairspray and applied it. The Pines have found themselves a new enemy.
Woah! I am so sorry. I forgot to publish this last week. It was written, but I forgot to actually publish it. I know, silly me. And yes, it's a short chapter, but Gideon is really just a side character, so I can't make his chapters too long.
But anyway, we have quite a villainous Gideon here. He's even sent Ghost-eyes to break Dipper's bones! How do you think Dipper will deal with this? Anyway, I won't leave you hanging too long. Since I forgot to publish last week, I have a present. I'll publish the next chapter within two days. After all, I'm almost done with it.
Until next time!
