The breakfast the next day was even more awkward for some reason. Maybe it was the intense amount of bonding they had between them or maybe the fact Tomura only had four days left to return himself back to normal or he was really going to redo half of his life all over again. This posed a big conflict in Izuku who couldn't even talk to anyone about it. He barely talked to any of his friends his whole vacation.
Part of him was hurt- agonizing over the fact he would lose Tomura. Even though he was a big asshole in a kid's body, he really liked him. There was more to the villain than the scary hands he had all over him and the quirk that could destroy the city. It was like fate brought them together for some reason but Izuku couldn't figure it out right now.
Izuku sipped his coffee slowly staring at the small figure in front of him.
We would've been best friends... In everything had been different, we could've been best friends.
His heart felt like someone was squeezing it too hard.
Another half of him knew that Tomura only trusted him since he had saved him and this altogether might have been nothing more than a mutual understanding. That Tomura Shigaraki would return to being the biggest threat to the city and there was nothing he could do about this. There was nothing he could do about the feeling of wanting to stay hanging out with Tomura.
Izuku hadn't fallen in love with him or anything like that. He loved the instant bond the two of them had between each other. It was something he had with Katsuki and he had lost it as he got his quirk. It was a friendship with someone he had missing all this time and it hurt he would lose it all over again.
"You ok?"
The teenager snapped out of his thoughts seeing the tiny villain was staring at him funny.
"I need a few minutes," he declared and he raced to the bathroom leaving Tomura there with a puzzled look on his face.

"Honey, you seem kind of down?" Inko asked looking at her son.
Tomura was in the middle of taking a bubble bath she had set up for him.
"It's because I am."
She messed up his green curls before kissing the top of his head.
"What's got you down? You've been so happy the last few days."
"I..."
Izuku drummed his fingers against the table.
"Is this about Tomura?" she asked, already knowing.
"It is," he whispered shamefully.
He felt like a child who was crying over nothing but it wasn't nothing to him. Things were so much more complicated than she knew and he didn't want to tell his mother any of it.
"Tell me what's bothering you?"
"You know how... Kacchan and I were really close then all the sudden we weren't?"
Inko nodded.
"Let's just say... he and I won't be friends after this. Because we can't. I can't say why but it's the truth. If it wasn't for this... we would never even talk."
"That is hard..."
She sat down and took his hand before giving it a gentle squeeze.
"Even if you can't be friends after this, he won't forget it. It doesn't matter about the quirk or situation that landed you both here. You two will always share something. He probably sees you like a brother after all this. That's much stronger than friendship, baby."
He blinked back the tears and only nodded.
"You're a great hero, Izuku. You don't give yourself enough credit."
He reached over and hugged her tight.
"Thanks Mom."

It was around evening time now and they had finished dinner. Tomura was sitting on the edge of Izuku's bed watching him dig through his drawers. It seemed the boy had nothing black in his attire at all. The small villain groaned and flopped backwards making the teenager throw a shirt at him. Tomura threw it back and sighed.
"You're too fucking cheerful to have black clothes."
"I have it back at the dorms you ass. I'm not made of sunshine and ponies."
"Could've fooled me."
The teenager shot him a dirty look.
"Why would I wear all black anyways? I could wear my hero costume-
"Shut the hell up. I don't want to be near you in your weird green bunny outfit."
"You're a dick."
The villain laughed.
"I try."
The two of them became quiet while Izuku pulled out a dark purple shirt and black shorts. Tomura just rolled his eyes as the teenager changed. Tomura didn't look much different than him in black shorts and a dark blue shirt but that's all they had.
"So, your plan is that we just go out and help people."
The little villain nodded.
"How many good deeds do you think you need to do?" Izuku asked as he slipped on his shoes.
"I don't. I got like two inches of growth from doing your homework."
"Hmmm."
"It's so stupid though," he admitted, "How the hell does doing things I wouldn't normally do inspire a growth spurt?"
Izuku hummed for a few seconds.
"I think maybe her quirk Second Chance is literally a way for people to see the wrong and right in their lives. Their second chance to change who they are. To make them realize who they could be and that's what this all is. A second chance to right all their wrongs. The same goes for you. Some it would be a second chance to escape a crappy life they didn't want."
The villain's mouth twitched.
"Did you ever want a second chance?" Izuku asked looking at him.
Tomura's jaw felt tight. He had an answer and it was complicated and it was something he wanted to keep to himself.
Fuck.
"Let's just get this over with."
He hopped off the bed and headed out leaving Izuku behind. Maybe it was the fact he had been away from his League for so long already... Or maybe it the way this kid just talked to him or maybe it was his mom... But he would like a second chance. A chance to be part of a real family. A chance for everything else to be better the second time around.
You already had your second chance when he found you and saved you.
His heart skipped a beat.
Don't fucking kid yourself.
The two of them walked in silence around the city for a while until people started thinning out. There wasn't much for either one of them to help anyone. There was- but Tomura wanted something more helpful. Something that would be more impactful to his growth but there really wasn't anyone around for that.
Izuku was losing his patience. He had offered six different things they could do but it seemed like the tiny villain was either stalling or he was really struggling with the idea of being a 'nice person.' There wasn't many heroes out but a few said hi to them along the way making Tomura stand on edge. None of them knew who he was. Most of them would've been teenagers or young adults when he was a kid.
"You care if we stop and get something to drink?" Izuku asked.
We're going to be out here all damn night at this pace. Maybe even tomorrow.
"I guess."
The two of them sat on the sidewalk outside of the gas station, each with a fountain drink and a hot dog.
"You don't want to do this, do you?"
Tomura didn't say anything as he finished off his drink.
"Let's just go home. We look weird being out late... well you do."
The villain gave him a dirty look.
"I don't want to... go home."
"Oh."
"It would've been easier to do this if..." he trailed off.
"If I hadn't intervened?"
He swallowed hard.
"You don't have to say it."
The teenager cleared his throat.
"Th-thanks."
"Wanna try this tomorrow night?"
Tomura glanced at him then returned his attention back to the ground.
"I'm running out of time," he whispered so low it was barely audible.
Izuku scooted closer to him.
"Look... I know you are but you aren't gonna get anywhere sitting here doing nothing. Let's get back home and we can do something about it then... We can brain storm in the morning during breakfast and set out earlier in the day. What do you say?" the teenager asked.
Tomura looked up at him seeing the reassuring smile on his face. He chewed on his lip a bit before nodding in agreement.
"Alright."
They began their walk again back to home in silence. It was weird since Izuku was the type to talk someone's ear off but he enjoyed the quiet between them. With other people it was awkward and he always wanted to talk to stop it. He had only three more days before Tomura would return back to his place in the world, leaving Izuku behind feeling like something was missing.
Rinnnngggg!
Rinnnnggg!
The teenager fished his phone out of his pocket and answered it.
"Hey Mom?"
"I'm home from work early. I'm going to take a bath."
"Oh ok. We should be home in an hour or less."
"You two be careful. I know you're a hero and everything but I don't want you to get into trouble."
"I know Mom. If anything happens I'll call."
"Love you both. Bye bye."
"We love you too. Bye."
"We?" Tomura asked with an eyebrow raised.
"You know you do. Don't act like that."
Tomura rolled his eyes and sighed but didn't argue making the freckled teenager smile.
They started to reach Izuku's neighborhood when Tomura got a weird sinking feeling. It was something he had gotten often since the incident with his family and sometimes he would get it when he was on... on...
"Ah-
Everything happened so fucking fast, neither the hero or villain had time to react. The young hero was pulled into a dark area of an abandoned building and a shed. Tomura charged into the darkness without thinking trying to find the teenager. He heard Izuku's muffled voice making him keep going, knowing he was following whoever grabbed him.
"Fucking little brat!" a voice growled.
Tomura's heart pounded in his chest as the fear sunk into him making it hard to breathe along with the running.
"YOU BIT ME YOU FUCK!"
BAM!
Tomura could hear the scuffle going on but he wasn't close enough to see. It was dark and the street lights only peeked through certain places. He slid to a stop seeing a dark figure.
"Little bastard! This is what you get!" the voice yelled.
"FUCK OFF!" Izuku shouted.
The dark figure moved more when the streetlight hit his face.
He had short, black hair and a black medical mask on his face. Tomura's eyes were wide but for some reason he couldn't place the asshole in front of him. He blinked trying to figure out why he looked and sounded familiar but his brain couldn't figure it out. He grabbed his head a splitting headache came on.
"Ugh!"
"Who the fuck are you?" the man asked.
"LEAVE HIM ALONE OVERHAUL!" Izuku shouted.
"Overhaul?" Tomura repeated.
The tiny villain walked closer seeing the position his teenager hero was in. Overhaul had his foot in the middle of his back and his arms pulled backwards to stop him from attempting anything. Izuku's eyes didn't show any fear, in fact- he was pissed.
"One wrong move you little shit and I'll make sure you never see him again!"
