AN: So I wrote this a while back. Found it. Did some editing and here we are. Have no idea how this will go but, meh. This is also my first attempt at a first person pov, so I'm actually really nervous about how I did. Hope you enjoy,I'll see you at the bottom.

"Mom, dad, I'm going to the park to see Izuku."

"Alright honey, don't be out for too long!" I heard my mom shout from the kitchen, "mkay."

I was busy putting on my shoes when my dad came and got me in a headlock. The familiar feeling of a noogie on my grey hair was rather unwelcome as I tried and failed to escape.

"Ow, ow, ow, get off me, old man!" I yelled. My dad, who looked like a bigger version of me but in tights, just laughed before eventually letting go, "have fun, pipsqueak."

I scowled while trying my best to redo my hair. It was already a rat's nest on a normal day, I did not need this right now. "I'll be home before sundown," hurriedly opening the door, I escaped before he could try anything else.

Zuku and I had promised to meet up at the park the previous night over the phone. We would often play Hero with the other kids there, though sometimes I had to stick up for Izuku so he could play too. He was a bit timid and had a tendency to let people push him around so he made for an easy target.

That, and the fact that Izuku had yet to develop his quirk. I actually don't have mine either, but having a dad who was an official hero tended to help. It did make me feel a little guilty at the special treatment I got though.

'When I get my quirk I'll show that stupid old man.' I told myself as different scenarios of me beating up my dad came to mind. I was basically walking on autopilot, snickering to myself as images of gaining a power type and giving him a noogie filled my head.

'One day,' I promised. Looking up, I found myself at the entrance to the park. Hurrying up, I made my way to our usual meet up spot, under a tree near the playground's jungle gym.

"S-s-stop it Kacchan! You won't bully him anymore! I-I-I'm not gonna let you!" I heard. That was Zuku's voice. Midoriya Izuku was my best friend. We met when we first started school together where he started geeking out after he found out my dad was the hero, Momentus.

His dream was to be recognised as a hero who always saved everyone with a smile on his face, just like his idol, All Might.

As I made my way onto the scene, I was able to pick out Izuku thanks to his prominent green hair, he was standing between a kid on the ground and three others our age. The situation was instantly clear to me when I saw a spiky head of ash blonde hair among them. Bakugou was at it again.

Bakugou Katsuki, a bully who had been one of the first in our class to get a quirk, an admittedly strong one too. He was definitely Izuku's worst tormenter. Being the first to dig at him for being quirkless. Always bullying and being rude whenever he tried to be nice. I hate this kid with a passion.

'Damn it, Zuku, why do you always have to play the hero like this,' I thought. That was when I saw Katsuki charge up his explosion quirk in his hands as if he were itching to blast Izuku in the face. I bolted towards them.

'What the hell is he thinking!? He can't hit him with something like that!' Time felt slow as I ran faster. It felt like I was getting faster with every step I took, covering the distance of about twenty meters in six seconds. A silver spark of energy that looked like lightning arc'd around me, building up until I tried to stop, sadly the momentum carried me too far.

I tackled Bakugou to the ground just as his hand was about to burst. Both sides fell to the ground as we slid away from each other.

"Izayoi!" Izuku yelled. I groaned from my spot in the dirt before I slowly sat up. That was when reality hit me. 'My... quirk. It's the same as the old man's!' I have a feeling my mom is going to be rather annoyed that I got yet another trait from my dad. The only thing I got from her were my blue eyes.

"Oi, Bakugou, are you alright?" The two lackeys quickly ran over to Bakugo's side as Izuku helped his friend up.

"Don't touch me," Bakugou shouted as he slapped his "friend's" hand away.

"H-hey Izayoi, are you okay?" Izuku asked tentatively. I flashed a smile to let him know I was alright before swiveling my head to look at Bakugou.

"What the hell are you doing using your quirk like that? That could have seriously hurt him, you know." the explosive quirk user's face held a look of absolute rage as he shouted back.

"Mind your own damn business, ya silver haired bastard." by now the little boy who Izuku was originally trying to protect had long fled the scene in a hurry.

We both continued to glare at each other heatedly. Well... Izuku, bless his heart, just kind of stood to the side, unsure of what he should do. He didn't want his friends to fight each other like this, I knew that; though I still didn't understand why he would call them friends.

The stare down went on for another minute until Bakugou huffed in annoyance as he straightened before turning his back and stomping away with his two followers in tow.

Zuku let out a sigh of relief next to me. For someone who got scared so easily, that must have been rather tough on him. I'm proud that my friend stood up for someone in need, but I wish he'd think a little beforehand.

"Come on." I said, "I haven't gone on the swings in a while." and just like that a large smile broke out on Izuku's face as he ran to catch up.

After that day, I made a promise to myself.

'If I'm to wield this great power... then I'll have to become even stronger than dad ever was. And then I'll be the ultimate hero... I'll save everyone!'

Eight years passed since that day in the park and a lot had changed as some might expect. When my father found out that I had inherited his quirk, he had been ecstatic. Boasting on and on about how great a hero I'm gonna be one day and how proud he was. It made me so happy that I completely forgot he called me a pipsqueak earlier.

Hero. My father was definitely someone who deserved that title. He saved anyone and everyone he could proudly. He was powerful but he was also gentle. Though he had always had a bit of a temper. Then again, you could've called it an extreme sense of indignance. He was my inspiration to be a hero. And I had always dreamed of him watching me as I walked the road to being the number one hero. Until that day... when he destroyed everything.

It was all a blur. Sitting at the table about to eat lunch with my dad. Mom had gone out and wouldn't be home until later. When all of a sudden our door was busted open and a man on fire stomped in, followed by a bunch of heroes and police.

My dad immediately stood up.

"Endeavor! What is the meaning of this!?" He roared in was Endeavor? The number two hero?

The flaming man leveled a glare. His blues eyes held a deep smoldering anger, as if his very being were made of rage and hatred. I would never forget the look in his eyes.

"Silence villain! We know what you've been up to! We're taking you in for questioning,"

"Bullshit!" He slammed into the man before wailing on him, each punch stronger and faster than the last.

I watched as he was blasted back by a powerful burst of flame, crashing into the wall. Endeavor slowly stepped forward.

'No!' I tried to stop him. I charged, tackled, bit, I had to stop this man.

"Get away from my dad!" The hero just clicked his tongue in annoyance.

"Don't test me brat!" He kicked me off. I felt my head smash against a countertop before crumbling to the floor.

The last thing I heard was the enraged shout of my father before my consciousness left me.

"It ain't my responsibility,"

"IZAYOI"

"As the chief of police, I am terribly sorry for our lack of insight, this is a black mark on our records and I swear that such an incident shall never happen again. I would also like to apologize sincerely to the wife and son of Momentus, as a husband and as a father, for the pain and suffering that we have brought upon them for our shortsightedness, we beg their forgiveness,"

A mistake they had called it. A framing.

A simple case of misinformation and a bad call.

A bad call that resulted in the death of my father.

An accident they said. He had never meant to mortally wound him.

And yet the only words that man ever spoke when asked was, "It ain't my responsibility,"

My mother and I moved away shortly after that. Unable to bear the emptiness we felt in our big house without our third member living there.

Actually we felt uncomfortable being in that general area. The pitying stares of our neighbors. The whispers while just going down to the store. It was too much for my mother and it was too much for me.

We moved to the other side of the city. And I started attending Mustafu Private Middle School. "It'll be a fresh start for you," my mother had told me. A chance to move on.

But I could never quite move on like she had hoped I would. I tended to start scowling more and I generally avoided everyone. That in itself made it quite difficult to make any new friends. Though I had already resigned myself to the fact that my only friend would ever be Izuku.

"Hey you!" Until today that is...

"You're the son of that hero who died right? You think you're too good for us or something, always scowling at everyone," well... not these guys...

"The hell do you want?" I almost growled. This punk almost reminded me of Bakugou, though he was nowhere near that guy's level of being a jerk, or as strong for that matter.

"We're just tryna' figure out where the hell you get the nerve to look down on everyone as if you're better than us," he snarked.

I absently noticed his little group of followers behind him. As well as the small ring of people that started to gather around.

"You think you're so cool, tryna' pull off the tough guy act. News flash, that so called 'hero' you called dad was a loser. A real hero is someone who always wins, so why don't-"

"Hey, cut it out," A kid yelled. I turned to my left to see a kid with flat black hair and some really sharp teeth pushing through the crowd.

The kid got in front of me.

"Dude, what's your deal? Just leave him alone," I think I remember seeing this kid in my class, now I feel bad for not knowing his name.

"Fuck off, Kirishima," oh, so that's his name. The bully sucker punched him, though I noticed his face scrunched up a little, as if he had just punched a brick wall.

"You can't even fight and your quirk is trash, so fu-" that was as far as he got before a fist sent him straight into the ground on his backside. My fist.

"If you want to pick a fight," I started, "you should be ready to take a hit too," I took one step and that was all the 'extras' needed to scatter like bugs.

Both of the kids on the floor just stood back up. The kid that helped me, Kirishima, looked amazed while the bully just scowled in annoyance.

"This ain't over punk," I just smirked. And suddenly I was right in his face before he could blink.

"Of course it is, unless you want me to beat you up again," he promptly fell back on his ass a second time before scurrying off.

And with that, our little show ended, the crowd splitting up quite quickly after that..

I turned back before walking over to my, hopefully, new friend.

"Yo, thanks for helping me out back there," I offered my hand. My mother had drilled good manners into my head since I could talk.

"No sweat, you actually did most of the work anyway," he laughed as he grasped my hand.

"The name's Kirishima Eijirou," he introduced himself.

"Kansei Izayoi, you can just call me Izayoi," I decided I liked this kid.

"Well in that case, you can call me Eijirou. Hey that was pretty cool what you did back there, are you a power type?" Ah, and he had a brain too.

"Cause if so then you'd make an amazing hero, though I guess that's to be expected with your-" he trailed off. Okay, maybe not.

"Ahh! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to mention your- ah, I'm such an idiot and I-"

"Woah woah," I cut him off, he's kind of like Izuku in a way, "It's fine, it doesn't bother me that much anyway," a lie but I knew he just meant well.

"A hero can't get hung up on shit like that, otherwise how would you smile at the citizens when you're saving them?" I said warmly, I hope.

"Smile, huh. You an All Might fan?" He snickered. I laughed a little.

"I respect him enough," truth be told, I respected him immensely.

As it turns out, the utter vast majority of the hero community had believed my dad to be a traitor at first as well. Only All Might, as well as a small number of other heroes, had wanted to get more conclusive evidence before the charge. Apparently, Endeavor thought otherwise.

"What about you? You seem like the hero type," his smile brightened at that.

"Really?"

"Well yeah, there were a lot of people who just stood to the side like this was some t.v show. But you showed initiative and tried to protect me. You even took that hit like a champ," I stopped as my mind thought back to that moment.

"Hey actually, I noticed that guy flinched slightly when he hit you, is that your quirk or do you just have a hard head?" Eijirou looked a little dumbfounded before laughing weakly.

"Yeah, that was my quirk, it's called Hardening, I can basically just make my whole body harden. It's pretty lame but I'm amazed you could figure it out so quickly," This guy probably hears a lot of dick jokes.

"So you can harden yourself? Ya' know, that kind of reminds me of Crimson Riot."

This immediately got Kirishima's attention.

"R-Really!? You think I'm like Crimson Riot!?"

"Well with that smile you have right now I'd dare say All Might, but yeah, all you need is the red hair," at this he was practically glowing.

"I fucking love-" he was interrupted by the lunch bell.

"Oh damn, well, see you later?" He looked at me funny.

"Dude, I sit right next to you," Okay now I really felt bad.

The guilt seemed to show on my face apparently since he just waved me off.

"Don't worry about it, you looked like you were deep in thought the whole time."

Class was interesting to say the least.

Everywhere I turned, there were people pointing not so sneakily and whispering about what happened at lunch.

Among them, I noticed the loudest was a pink girl with horns. Sitting next to her was a girl with dark green hair, who didn't say anything, but the constant staring was kind of creeping me out.

Eijirou, as it turns out, did in fact sit right next to me. For the whole rest of the day he went on and on about his idol Crimson Riot. Huh, well what do you know?

Soon enough the final bell rang, signaling the end of class, Eijirou was asking me if I wanted to hang out at the arcade when the loud pink girl and her green haired friend came up to me.

"Hey hey hey! That was pretty awesome what you did to Hideki earlier! He's such a jerk!" Sheesh, she was loud, "I'm Ashido Mina, but you can just call me Mina," she introduced herself.

Then she gestured to her friend, "This is Tokage Setsuna, she's kinda quiet but she's fun," said girl glaring at her friend in annoyance but that didn't last too long before she smiled and gave us a wave.

I just smiled and waved back. And I could feel the light blush that was slowly creeping up my face.

"Hi."

AN: And that's a wrap. Now, I actually have quite a bit of the second chapter already written, but as I said before, I'm rather uncertain about this story so whether I continue to update this fic will depend on the reception it gets. I already have a lot of stories planned and adding another to the list is something I want to avoid due to past experiences. If this story does get a lot of good feedback, I'll treat it as one of my main stories, if not, it'll just be a side piece with maybe an occasional update.

Lastly, I own a discord server for fanfic writers to come together and improve or just chill and have fun. Readers are welcome too, of course, if you're interested then here's the link discord . gg / V54pcwA (remove spaces)
