Piper wasn't sure what to do. Alex had been gone for half an hour and she was alone in her apartment. She made herself some single origin coffee and brioche French toast and was pleased to see Alex had authentic Canadian maple syrup. She called Polly who sounded as if she was out. She was having brunch with her new beau, Pete. She asked Piper where she was. Piper explained what had happened.
"Are you crazy pipes?!" Polly said. "There's something really shady about this woman, the cops don't just turn up for no reason."
"Maybe it was a misunderstanding?" Piper said, but it was half hearted. In her heart of hearts she knew this was not kosher, not even a little bit and just how did someone of Alex's age afford an apartment like this? Fridge full of expensive champagnes, the latest mod cons. She certainly wasn't working as a waitress in a cocktail bar.
"It's got to be one hell of a misunderstanding if the police are there," Polly said, failing to relent.
After the phone call, Piper went back to bed and lay on the Egyptian cotton sheets. They were a very high thread count, the sort of quality you got at a Hilton hotel if you were a regular rewards user. Just then the apartment buzzer sounded. She thought it was Alex, maybe she'd forgotten her keys? So she didn't bother checking the video display and instead let the person in.
She went to the front door, but there was no Alex, just some other woman, short haired, plain looking. She introduced herself as Sylvia and looked piper up and down.
"Alex in?" She said.
"No," Piper replied, "do you want me to pass on a message?"
The woman scoffed. "I'll pass on my own message in person."
Then she turned to leave, before pausing and turning back to the blond.
"You know she'll just use you right?"
"I'm sorry?" Piper said, taken aback by this woman's frankness, especially since she was dressed head to toe in Old Navy.
"She's just looking for another runner." Then she laughed again, but there was no warmth to it, the air felt icy around her. "You'll see what I mean soon enough hon." And then she did did leave.
Piper spent the rest of the morning fretting about what the woman had said. She searched the apartment for clues, but there was just a lot of books, some Louis Vuitton luggage and expensive perfumes. Alex Vause certainly had great taste, but was she to be trusted?
Around 2pm Alex returned with a box of donuts and profuse apologies. There was some mix up with the license plate of her car she said. But now it had all been smoothed out. She leaned in to kiss Piper, but the blond pulled away, she wasn't going to be someone's play thing - used and abused and then tossed atop a scrap heap.
"Sylvia came over," Piper said.
"Oh," the raven haired woman said dropping the box of confections on the granite worktop.
"I think you have some explaining to do," Piper said.
Alex swallowed hard and explained Sylvia was an ex with a grudge.
It was hard to stay mad at Alex, she was so damn sexy, her green eyes smouldering. It wasn't long before they found themselves in the bedroom.
Alex threw piper on the bed. "Now for something different," she said.
Piper was ready for anything, nobody had made her feel like this, like her whole body was on fire. Alex blindfolded her and then handcuffed her hands and legs to the bedposts so she was spread eagle.
She licked Piper's clit, her arm around 75 degrees around Piper's waist. The blonde grabbed handfuls of the brunette's hair and it was mere seconds before Piper squirted her with her delight, but Alex wasn't done yet.
"You want to feel me inside you?" She growled
"Oh god yes," Piper said, her fears of the morning long gone. Alex put a strap on and slid straight inside the blond. She was slick with wetness and it wasn't long before Piper was bucking against the raven haired woman, nails digging into Alex's pale flesh, screaming blue murder and seeing stars.
Afterwards they ate donuts in bed and Alex kissed her gently on the side of the head. "You just need to trust me," she said.
But there was still something gnawing away at Piper and that was the problem.
