(;( Everything has a purpose, though. Jet disappearing was probably the best thing that could happen.)

It was April 20th, 2017, and Honest watched solemnly as people one-by-one disappeared into the classroom beside hers second period. None of them were green birds. Honest just sighed and pressed her face against the cool, brick wall beside her. "Senpai, where are you?" she whispered.

Shadow passed by her on the way to his second period class, biology. She had an aura resembling Mephiles's, including the tiny, wavy, purple particles that sometimes floated around him.

Shadow just shook his head, sighed, and continued on his way, heading down the stairs to the lower hallway.

"You okay, Honest?" Scourge asked her as she took her seat in front of her computer.

"No," she said simply, logging into the computer and drumming her fingers on the table. Scourge couldn't be actually concerned for her, Honest thought, though she was wrong. "Why? Did something happen?"

"No," Honest said again. "Other than Jet not showing up to school for almost two weeks."

"Oh," Scourge, said, looking down. "Storm and Wave aren't here either." When he realized how he was sounding, he looked up. "And I'm glad, too. Those people are so dumb."

Just when Honest had grown to like Storm, someone bashed him like that by saying he, and his friends as well, were dumb!

"You know, you're not much of a genius yourself," Honest told him.

Scourge rolled his eyes and grasped the back of his chair with his hands. "I didn't mean to offend anyone."

For once, Scourge, the scourge of all weirdos, wasn't meaning to offend anybody! Honest smiled widely at him. "Really? That's a start for you!"

A vein pulsed on the side of Scourge's head. "Dummy."

Honest just burst out laughing. Scourge couldn't help but laugh out loud as well. Scourge was the one person in this school that she could really laugh with like this.

Now it was April 21st, 2017 on a Friday, and Honest's senpai was still nowhere to be seen. ISS for two whole weeks? How many tardies did he have? Maybe he wasn't in ISS. Maybe his family was having an emergency. His... family... what family was this again? Exactly, Jet didn't have a family unless you counted the Babylon Rogues, which were more like a group of, well, rogues than a family. Honest wasn't worried that he had dropped out of school. Jet was an incredible student. She had seen this firsthand. The first time he had forgot to logout of his account on her computer, she had seen a Google Slides presentation of his that blew her mind. It was extremely comprehensive. He must've been very, very smart, so there would be no way he could drop out of school. Honest was stuck on the idea that it was something having to do with his job. After school, he worked as the manager of Hedgehog Hut Pizza. Maybe it was something with his job that was keeping him away from school.

First period she found out that her computer had been stolen from the charging cart kept in the front of the classroom. Second period was entrepreneurship, so she had to deal with stocks, which meant lots of numbers and headaches. Third period, she and the rest of the 3D art class were in charge of making giant tree silhouettes for a showcase in the small hallway outside the art room, agriculture room, and study hall. Others drew the trees on big pieces of paper or helped stick the silhouettes on the walls with a broom and a ladder. Honest, however, had to get on her hands and knees to cut out the silhouettes with scissors. She had others to help her like Shadow and Akane, but it was still painful to be on the cold, dusty floor on her bare knees. Luckily, she could quit whenever she had cut out the silhouettes and rest while they were being hung up, so it wasn't all that bad. She worked patiently, all the while daydreaming about the soda and giant cookie she would buy fourth period with the money she earned at the cafe. Mmm... 3

And then it was fourth period! She ran to the drink machine, which happened to be near where they were working on the trees, and pulled out her money, frantically sticking it into the machine and grabbing her drink before dashing up the stairs. Shadow and Akane followed as fast they could, but before they knew it, Honest had disappeared into the World History classroom on the opposite side of the upper hallway with the memory of a giant cookie's taste propelling her forward. Luckily her friends didn't need anything from their lockers, so they focused on getting to the classroom before Honest did anything scary or dangerous.

After Honest had bought her cookie, she sat down to eat it. Her drink was a bottle of apple juice. She felt like a kindergartner, sitting there with her juice and her cookie. Mephiles sat at a desk near the front. He was turned around in his seat, facing towards her, staring over the chair at Honest with his dead-looking eyes, tentacles floating, at the ready, around him. Honest didn't see him, but Shadow did. He sat near Honest's desk, and he found that it was difficult to disregard his dangerous, dark double's disturbing gaze.

"Honest, hurry up and eat your cookie. I don't like the way Mephiles is eyeing you," he warned.

"Huh?" Honest looked over at Mephiles's desk. Sure enough, he was giving her one of his looks- the kind that made you want to run and hide. Plus, his tentacles were out and moving around behind him. Why would they be out like that if he wasn't planning on using them?

Honest devoured her cookie as fast as she could. Mephiles was still staring. Couldn't he tell that Honest and Shadow were aware of him? They were staring back at him! Honest turned up her apple juice. As soon as she had looked away, two of Mephiles's tentacles shot across the room at supersonic speed, wrapping themselves around Honest's middle and slowly pulling her through the air towards him. "Shadow, Shadow, Shad-" Shadow sent out a chaos spear so fast that neither Honest nor Mephiles knew what was happening until the tentacles became severed and Honest fell three feet onto the hard tile. "Ow-w-w..." Honest said, repeating the "w" sound over and over. Some of her apple juice had splashed out.

"Ouch," Mephiles said. Had he actually felt the two limbs being separated from his... body if you could even call it that? Mephiles glanced at the teacher, then back at them. "Hm, I'm not sure if I'm even afraid of being caught right now." Suddenly the whole room began to shake. All of the students looked around them as pictures fell off the walls, markers and erasers fell from the whiteboards, whole desks were turned over, and papers flew everywhere. "Mephiles?"

Honest turned to look at Mephiles's desk. It was being taken over by black sludge. The sludge grew and grew until it was taking up a whole side of the classroom. The students were pushed to one side of the classroom. "The windows!"

Silver opened up his school-issued laptop. "No, Silver. Not Windows 10," Blaze told him, jabbing him in the arm with her pencil. "Oh."

Honest climbed on top of the bookshelf behind her desk. This reminded Shadow too much of what had happened at the café the other day in {Café Edition}. He jumped on top of the bookshelf as well and helped Honest open the window. She looked over at him as they had succeeded in lifting up the glass. "We should have tons of experience in escaping Mephiles, shouldn't we?" Honest asked with a smile.

Shadow nodded, but then an OC pushed through the window he had opened and another OC named Iris Elisa that him and Honest had looked up on DeviantArt the other day prodded Honest on. "Go through! Hurry up!"

Honest looked at Shadow. He just silently looked at her. Honest stuck her head through the window, then pulled Shadow by his arm out with her. Shadow was startled and let out a girl-like scream before both him and Honest fell heads-first into a bush below the window. The other students, including Iris, jumped over the bush and ran towards the hills.

"Ow," Honest said flatly. "Shadow, just- ow." She turned completely over and fell on her back. Shadow stuck his head out from the bush a few seconds later. He watched the FCs and OCs flee the school.

"Come on, Honest. We need to go." He dove back into the tangle of leaves and branches to go back and find her. Her fur was being caught on thorns near the wall of the school. He pulled on her tail to help tug her free.

As they battled the foliage, Mephiles slowly swelled, filling the school. And then, as quickly as this had all happened, he dissolved into liquid and seeped his way into the ground to find a way out. The students gradually started returning to the building and to their fourth period classes.

And that's how Honest does character building.

... I don't know what to say, so bye.

(Same here. Bye.)
