It was September 7th, 2017, and Shadow woke up to see that a huge section of the chocolate cake, which he had made to make up for the cake he wanted to bake for Sonic's 25th birthday a couple months ago, but couldn't because his hand mixer broke just before he could make it, was gone. Several moments later, Honest strolled into the kitchen behind him, licking chocolate, buttercream frosting off of her gloved fingertips. "Cake for breakfast, really?"
"Yup! :3" Honest's tail stood straight up. "You should have some. The sugar rush works just as good as coffee!"
"Right.." Shadow just ignored her and started to make a pot of coffee. "Do you mind waking Sonic up? He probably slept through his alarm clock again."
"No puroburemu!" Honest exclaimed. She disappeared down the hallway.
"So. How did yours and Sonic's date go yesterday?" Honest asked.
Shadow rolled his eyes. "How many times do we have to go through this. It was not-"
"The date was wonderful! Me and Shadow had so much fun. Don't you agree, Shadster?"
"It wasn't- Oh, well, it was pretty fun." Honest looked at him strangely. Shadow returned her gaze. "But I really don't like that nickname."
"Shadster is kind of a friendly name compared to Faker. I consider you my friend, so you're Shadster!" Sonic exclaimed.
"Faker." Sonic sighed, looking disappointed.
"You two got home at 11. Rouge closes up the place at 8. What did you two do before coming home?" Honest asked, interested.
"Uh," Shadow tried to say.
"We played Sonic Colors at Tails's place!" Sonic exclaimed.
"Uh- Yeah," Shadow said, sounding deflated. "He drug me into it it."
"It was a video game date!" Sonic said, sounding delighted.
"It was not a date!" Shadow stomped off.
Honest watched him go. When the Ultimate Lifeform was out of earshot, Sonic added in a hushed voice, "It was a date. At least from my point of view it was." He looked somewhat sad and left as well.
Fourth Honest worked on her fan fiction. Fifth, Honest made more paper. She added a piece she called "Strawberry Shortcake" to her collection of paper. Her others she called "Grape", "Blueberry", and "Lemon-Lime". At lunch, the whole lunchroom smelled of chili dogs. Sonic was overjoyed, but everyone else just felt sick. Sixth period, the teacher told Honest that she got a 100 on her essay about a certain architectural feat that impacted the environment in major ways. Honest enjoyed going into great detail about subjects she cared nothing about. It was strangely fun to her. (What does that say about this story, then? e.e)
Honest felt bad that she was forced to type her fan fiction the whole period of study hall to trick the teacher into thinking she's doing work. She'd much rather draw, but it was harder to pretend she was doing work when the piece of paper had pictures instead of words. Oh well.
Honest probably also could listen to music, but she'd rather not because she didn't want to be ridiculed for liking Japanese music. This was ridiculous because if she had liked Korean music, they'd be totally okay with that. The reason they would ridicule her about liking what she liked was because they couldn't begin to comprehend the concept of "digital singers" like Honest could. Their refusal to learn to accept anything foreign to them was kind of annoying. That's not how learning should work. People should want to learn things they don't know much about in order to become more knowledgeable about a greater range of subjects- but whatever. Who could understand people. And it wasn't even a human thing. Even mobians were that way.
It was now September 8th, 2017, and Honest was practicing her singing by following along to a slow song on a piano. Shadow busted into the room with Akane firmly attached to his leg just above his inhibitor ring. "Honest!"
Honest pulled Akane off of him. Black fur was stuck in her teeth. "What happened?"
"We're out of cat food!" Shadow exclaimed. He sat on the edge of her bed and examined his microscopic injuries.
"Both kinds?" "Both kinds."
They were silent for a while. "I-I don't have anything to buy food with, so.."
Honest thought. "It's Friday, though, so the money we both have earned from the cafe this week should be enough to buy something for her."
Honest went and got a plate. She tore a piece of turkey for sandwiches into little pieces and gave that to Akane. The orange cat sniffed it and wrinkled her nose.
"That's all we have, Akane. Either eat that, or wait until lunch and eat school food like the rest of us," Honest told her. Akane turned into her other form and bowed her head.
"I'd rather just wait for lunch.."
Honest sighed and turned to leave for her bedroom again. They had some time before they had to go to school, so she wanted to finish practicing her singing real quick..
When Shadow and Honest arrived at school, Daniela was waiting for them at the curb.
"Hey," she said. Honest waved. She had a feeling that Daniela was just like any other fan character: crazy over Shadow. For some reason though, Daniela didn't seem to really express this. Maybe she was crazy over some other character.
"Do you want to go say good morning to Silver?" Honest asked her.
Daniela nodded. "Okay! Come with me!" Honest pulled her towards the school. Shadow followed them silently.
Silver was showing Blaze his terrible crayon drawing. She was nodding slowly, pretending to like it for Silver's case. Honest could never be that patient. She would eventually have to tell him that his art was bad. Mephiles hung in the air next to Blaze. He was looking at Silver's drawing, but not saying anything. Of course, it was hard to tell if he was speaking or not because he didn't have a mouth.
"Hey!" Blaze turned her head instantly, while Silver and Mephiles slowly turned towards them. "This is Daniela the Hedgefox."
"Why hello, Daniela! I'm Silver!" He shook Daniela's hand viciously before unfolding his large sheet of paper. "Do you like my masterpiece?"
"Sure," she said. Silver was happy, but Honest was confused as to why he was content with "sure". Daniela was clearly not crazy over Silver. Hm.
Third period, Honest, Scourge, and the rest of the students in their class were learning about developing and developed countries. Dr. Eggman had just picked up their study guides for a test they would have later.
"The first question was 'list some developing countries'. Let's see here what some of you put." Everybody looked at each other. This was a question that was difficult to answer seeing as though most of the 'countries' on Mobius were actually just stages in video games.
"'Grand Metropolis'? Hardly. You do know it read 'developING' don't you?" He looked directly at Sonic. He shrugged.
"'Mazuri'. I would say so. Good job, Shadow," he said, flipping through some more of their papers.
"Developing countries, developing countries, developing- 'Guatamenyada'?!" Eggman looked at Honest. "I-I mean.. it is a developing country, but.."
Honest and Scourge bumped fists. The doctor continued flipping through the students' study guides. "Eggman... Land. Hey! Eggman Land is to developed!"
Scourge and Honest started laughing. He gave them detention for dissing the country he founded. Now Scourge and Honest were walking to art together.
"You don't feel bad about being mean to Egghead like that, do you?" Scourge asked as they walked down the stairs.
"Of course not! He's a villain whether he has his teaching degree or not," Honest replied, still laughing from the Sonic Boom reference they made Eggman make just then. "Is Eggman Land really a country? I mean, it wasn't destroyed at the end of Unleashed, was it?"
"No. I wonder if he will take us there on a field trip just to prove us wrong about it being a developing country?" Honest shook her head.
"Naw, but it probably is developed by now. That was nine years ago after all."
Eggman Land a country? The stages you go to in Sonic Unleashed are called 'countries', and the Eggman Land level is pretty large. It could be big enough to be considered a country. Anyway, please (review). I typed all of this on the dates it mentions.
