Genesis landed on the outskirts of the castle in her dragon form. She had just finished an aerial patrol to see if the king had decided to send more troops towards the castle. Thankfully nothing out of the ordinary happened so she returned to her home. The dragoness reverted to her human form and made her way to the castle entrance.

"See anything?" Ozzie asked as the dragon shifter entered the foyer.

"Nope all is quiet" the red haired woman replied.

"For now anyway" Flea muttered joining them. "War never is"

Genesis nodded before she took her leave from her friends. Before she became Magus's lover she would always report to him after a patrol. As usual the dark mage was in his study focusing on his research. The door was open but Genesis knocked anyway.

Magus lifted his head up from his books and a smirk came to his lips when he saw who it was. Eclipse was curled up in the fiend lord's lap.

"I take it you just finished patrolling" Magus greeted.

"Yes and everything was quiet" Genesis reported to her master.

Magus nodded before using his magic to shut the study door behind him. Knowing what he wanted Genesis walked closer to the dark mage and gave him a kiss. Since she became his lover Genesis now slept in Magus's room.

It didn't surprise Ozzie, Slash, and Flea when they found out their lord was in a relationship with the dragoness. Hell they were glad about it. Magus always took the necessary precautions when it came to preventing a pregnancy. Before he and Genesis made love he made sure she took a contraceptive.

When Genesis finished kissing the fiend lord he growled in disapproval.

"Have you found any luck with finding a time gate?" she wondered.

Magus sighed and shook his head.

"Not yet" he admitted. "Though I did find out something interesting"

The blue haired male pushed a book so Genesis could see it. On the page was an illustration of a dragon in flight. Below it was a picture of a time gate.

"From what I have read here dragons can supposedly make a time gate open" the dark mage explained. "But only in times when the winged creature of fire feels it's necessary"

Magus then turned to look at Genesis.

"I think you unknowingly opened a time gate when you and your brother were attacked and thus you were brought to my forest"

Genesis was quiet when Stefan was brought up. Magus growled mentally in his mind for not thinking. The fiend lord stood up and carefully lay Eclipse on the chair so the feline wouldn't have his sleep disturbed.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you" he apologized.

Genesis shook her head.

"I'm not upset with you" she reassured the dark mage. "I just miss him"

Magus sighed before drawing the dragon shifter into his arms. Genesis lay her head against the fiend lord's chest and felt comforted being in his arms.

"Lord Magus!" Ozzie yelled from outside the study.

Magus released Genesis and used his magic to open the door. Eclipse was now awake and he transformed to his larger form. Ozzie looked out of breath and freaked out.

"What is it Ozzie?" Magus asked his servant calmly.

"My lord Flea was out on patrol when a dragon appeared out of nowhere and began to attack! Slash is aiding Flea but it's only a matter of time before that creature overpowers them!"

Magus nodded before he summoned his scythe and he did the same with Genesis's swords. Then the dark mage used his magic to transport him and Genesis where he felt the dragon's power. Upon arrival Genesis saw the dragon had just used it's tail to hit Slash and Flea hard. Both of her friends were slammed against some trees and they fell to the ground.

The dragon itself was larger than Genesis when she was in her dragon form. It had her same physique but it's scales were gold and the wing and fin membranes were bronze colored.

"Go tend to Flea and Slash I'll deal with this beast" Magus ordered.

Genesis nodded before she rushed over to her friends.

"I hurt like hell all over" Slash complained as Genesis helped him sit up. Flea was able to sit up on his own.

Genesis casted Cure on both of them so their wounds could heal instantly. The male dragon roared and Genesis looked to see the beast hiss a river of fire at Magus. The King of the Mystics countered with a water based attack and the flames were extinguished. The male dragon shook his tail from side to side in annoyance.

Then Genesis figured it out. This dragon wasn't here to start a fight it was here seeking a mate. In fact the male dragon was a shifter like her and no doubt he scented her pheromones. Genesis put her swords down and then proceeded to take her dragon form.

Just as a the male dragon was about to attack did Genesis roar a challenge at her opponent. She had no interest in becoming this fool's mate. The male dragon roared back before he spread his wings and took flight. Genesis did the same and once airborne did she attack first. She bit hard into her opponents flank.

The gold colored dragon returned the favor before giving her neck a good bite which hurt like hell. In retaliation Genesis hissed out flames and they hit the entire front side of the male dragon. Being burned by dragon fire was painful and her opponent roared out pain. Both dragons exchanged more bites and scratches until the male dragon eventually realized he wasn't going to win this battle so he turned and flew off. Genesis roared out in victory before making her descent back to the ground. She landed next to her master and returned to her human form.

Magus smiled at her. He was pleased how she handled herself during her brief aerial dance. Deep down he was proud of her. She willingly put herself in danger to not only defend her comrades not once but twice. She had also come to his aide even though he was never in danger. This was a woman he wanted to keep at his side.

Later.

By the time Genesis finished showering and pulled on her night attire did Magus return from his study.

"Where's Eclipse?" the dragon shifter wondered seeing her black cat wasn't with the dark mage.

"He's in the study for the night he likes to sleep there since it's comfortable according to him" the fiend lord explained.

"I think he wants to give us privacy" Genesis corrected.

That amused the fiend lord and he approached her. He caressed her cheek with a gloved hand.

"Of that I have no doubt, you did well today"

"I was protecting my mate" Genesis stated.

Magus widened his eyes when he heard those words leave her lips.

"Are you certain?" he asked.

Genesis smirked before using his cape to pull him closer to her. She gave him a quick peck on the lips before replying.

"Yes my love I am certain and as your mate I will protect you with my life but do you wish to accept my claim?"

"I would be honored" Magus responded.

Using his magic he soon was bare from the waist up making Genesis go red. Magus drew his beloved towards him and claimed a kiss of his own. Afterwards the fiend lord sat on his bed with Genesis in his lap. His arms were wrapped possessively around her waist.

"This will hurt for a moment" Genesis explained to her mate before her canines lengthened. Soon they were embedded in Magus's skin. The bite itself felt good and Magus couldn't help but moan when Genesis bit him.

Eventually she removed her fangs from her beloved and licked away the blood that surfaced from her bite. Seeing she was ready Magus leaned her head back before he bit into her skin as well. He didn't release his canines until he felt the mate bond open up. Satisfied he removed his teeth from Genesis's flesh and used his magic to heal the bite wound.

"Now your mine" the fiend lord said.

"Damn right" Genesis agreed. "And having my scent on you reassures me"

Magus chuckled before he lowered his new mate onto her back. It wasn't long until both the fiend lord and the dragoness were making love. From the study Eclipse wore a feline smirk before he decided to head to the dining hall hoping Flea would give him so scraps of meat from dinner.
