Honest won't get the grades from her test in until probably next week. Cliffhanger!

"Teehee. Prison Island looks like a guitar." Honest was watching episodes of Sonic X for the gazillionth time when she was supposed to be doing her school work third period. It was September 15th, 2017, and Shadow was sitting beside Honest. He was staring into space for the longest time, but now he was distracted by what was on her screen.

"Everybody says that! You don't have to keep pointing it out, you know," Shadow complained.

"But it does! Also.. Every time you say anything, it sounds a lot more sinister than it actually is," Honest said to him, her head tilted in wonder.

"Quit stating the obvious. About Prison Island's shape and about the way I pronounce things. Trust me when I tell you I'm comfortably aware of how I sound at all times," he said.

"Sh," Honest hissed. "I love this part."

"Because I'm on-screen?" "Yeah."

Shadow "pft"ed and laid his head on his desk.

Sixth period, Honest was working on her homework for a class she would have in two hours. She found out that Mephiles indeed, had a memory. Well, I mean, he did remember Shadow's shape and form and his promise to kill him in Sonic 06, but this was more of a short-term kind of thing.

Remember when Honest helped him with his homework? Well, now he helped her in return. They finished eleven questions in no time at all since they were working together. Honest was super grateful and only partially creeped out this time.

Seventh period, the class had to deliver giant speeches in only three minutes. Shadow was extremely monotone, and he constantly checked the clock the whole time. Some of the other students, who had struggled with delivering theirs', had to cover their ears to keep from being jealous when Honest effortlessly talked three minutes straight about the most boring subject in the world- with a smile, even. Like usual, Sonic gave a relatively-normal speech that would cause almost anyone to think he was a model video-game mascot, which he more or less wasn't.

Eighth period, Dr. Eggman gave them all a long math test to complete. Honest struggled to complete hers on time. Silver rushed through the questions and was done before anyone else in the class. He sat there and made the most annoying noises with his mouth that Honest had ever heard before. Even more annoying than the noises Sonic made in episode... whatever that was. (Episode 48 of Season 1 "Designated Heroes" I watched it just now to make sure, and... it's such a good episode. How come I always forget the good ones?) She hadn't watched that episode in a while, so she had forgotten what number it was. Anywho, yeah, it was very annoying and Honest had trouble concentrating. When the bell rang, she left several questions blank and ran to get Shadow and go home.

While she was waiting, Honest thought it was a good idea to dart into the art room and grab her portfolio from last year. She had thought for sure someone had thrown it away when she forgot to get it the last day of school last year. Luckily, the art teacher saved everything Honest made like she idolized her, so everything was fine.

Okay, everybody! Stop! Stop the story there! I need to talk about something..

As everyone might know, Sonic Mania came out in August, and it is a good game. A great game. *looks around for Silver* Anyway, yeah! It's amazing. It's not exactly good because of Sega, but part of the credit should go to them anyway. Because of this game being a success, people are distracted from the horrors that were the past games. Hopefully (and I say hopefully), this will improve people's views of Sonic and the Sonic following (if you can't tell, I hate the word fan base). Only time can tell for sure, but I was pretty blown away myself. I mean, I know it's 2017, but the two-dimensional 3D was cool to me. XD I'm still hyped for Sonic Forces, though. I know it's going to be a bad game, but if it's anything like Sonic 06 or Sonic Generations, I know I will enjoy it. Except, well, I don't have a PS4. In eight years, when I finally manage to scrape up enough money, I will enjoy it, though! :D
