It was September 26th, 2017, and Honest ate the strangest breakfast of frozen toaster pastries and Summer sausage before dashing off to school with Shadow.
They found Daniela and another fan character talking about some sort of new information leaked about the upcoming Sonic game, Sonic Forces. It was funny how everybody was so hyped for Sonic Boom, but when it came out, everybody was deeply disappointed, and yet people are starting to feel the same way about this game. Why? Couldn't they remember what happened the last time they were hyped for a new game? Sigh. Honest tried not to listen to them, as she didn't want to get any sort of spoiler. It wasn't like she would be able to play the game in her lifetime anyway what with it only coming out on consoles and gaming clients that she didn't have access to. Sonic wanted to get Sonic Adventure for PC, but Honest knew the lag would be way too advanced for it to be playable. Sigh again.
(Actually, I eventually did get a PS4. ^^ I just saved up all my Christmas and birthday money for two years and bought it myself.)
Honest heard the jingle of loose change in her backpack, and was reminded that she had a dollar in quarters on her person at the moment. She was on her way to Spanish when she heard it. Hopefully, since it was a new week, the drink machine would have apple juice. Just the thought of the fruity beverage made Honest drool. In fact, there was now a wet spot on her jacket sleeve. Oops.
Anyway, Honest typed about her morning. What she ate for breakfast, what her friends at school talked about.. she even went on a tangent, talking about the hype surrounding Sonic Forces. Truthfully, she just wanted the game to hurry and come out so she could watch someone play it and begin drawing fan art and writing about it. Knowing her luck, it would probably be cancelled and be put off until next year like Fire and Ice so Sega could "slow down and focus on quality". Pft. Since when was Sonic known for going slow? After all, he's gotta go fast!
But whatever. Honest needed to focus on school right now, just long enough until she could go home at 2:30 anyway. So, let's see. Next period she needed to work on her art project. Then she would eat lunch. Afterwards she would get an apple juice *drool* and then study hall and then working on her speech, then Algebra II and whatever work the Doctor wanted to pile on her that day.
Then, in sixth period study hall, when Honest had successfully retrieved her apple juice from the machine and sat down at her desk with a notebook and pencil at the ready, Honest remembered that school would dismiss at 2:30 instead of 3:15. Which meant... she wouldn't have to go to Doctor Eggman's class! She sighed a big breath of relief and started drawing again. As soon as she put her pencil to the paper, a human girl behind asked what she was typing on her computer.
"A story." "About what?"
Honest thought for a while. "About everything that's happened to me today," she replied. That was half the truth, but the girl probably didn't understand what a "fan fiction" was.
When the girl got close to her screen and began to read what she had typed, Honest clicked the other tab and showed her all of the chapters she had yet to publish to Wattpad. "Is this all today?"
"No," Honest said, almost laughing. "I've written this over a long period of time." Honest pointed to a chapter of Cafe Edition. "See? This was written on the 7th."
"Eventually the girl backed away from her screen. Yet another breath of relief.
"Then Honest typed about what had just happened to her a second before. xD This story is becoming more and more ridiculous as time goes by. What's next? The chapters become nothing more than ASCII art of apple juice and giant cookies? I miss the giant cookies :'( (Now, I really miss the giant cookies.)

The next day, the 27th, Honest was critically thinking about her future. She had one dollar in her backpack that she could use to buy an apple juice, but- Sonic had asked her to buy him an apple juice. Maybe she could ask someone else for a dollar so she could buy two.. but then again, Dr. Eggman was going to be taking them on a field trip to who knows where that afternoon, and Honest may not have time to drink apple juice, making buying one for just Sonic her only option. She wondered if wherever they were going that afternoon allowed drinks? If not, maybe she could hide it and drink it secretly.. maybe not.
Anyway, Honest finished her assignment in Spanish for the day with 27 minutes left to spare. She typed a part to her fan fiction, but this was super boring because she hadn't really done anything interesting that morning.
In AP art, Honest had finished her first project and was now searching the internet for ideas for her next project. She wanted to make some sort of mixed media collage. You know, take a sheet of paper, glue random things you find on the side of the road to it, it looks like someone literally glued trash to a piece of paper, which is what you did... and then things start falling off and you have to keep gluing them back on. By the time it's time to turn it in, it has dirt in the glue and it looks even more like garbage was glued to it, which then again is actually exactly what you did.
During fifth period, the art teacher made Honest work on some great, big project called "Homecoming" in the gym. What it was, Honest had no clue. All she could assume was that it was some kind of grand ritual that took place once a year and made everyone batty trying to prepare for it. She missed lunch because of it. The problem with this was that Honest hadn't eaten anything in over 12 hours. Honest bought an apple juice after lunch despite knowing that Sonic would be mad. Sonic could be mad if he wanted to. Honest didn't want to die of starvation. She was shaking as it was, preventing her from drawing a straight line.
At 1 o'clock that afternoon, Dr. Eggman announced where they were being taken... Eggman Land! Everyone got on the bus and everything. Meanwhile, Honest was burning up. She had sat in the sun after lunch to chase away the bad feeling in her stomach from being hungry. It did nothing but mask the bad feeling until she got out of the sunlight. Now she was sweaty, sick-feeling, and tired because of all the labor she had done on Homecoming (I'm not even sure if I should capitalize that foreign word).
Cream made Honest follow her to go talk to her mom, too. They ran all the way across the campus searching for Ms. Vanilla, only further tiring Honest.

This chapter is getting too long, so I'll end it here. I will write about the trip to Eggman Land in the next chapter. Please (leave a review) if you enjoyed, and good-bye!
