It was October 13th, 2017, and everyone arrived at the lunch table before Honest, like usual. Honest didn't even attempt to stand in line for a tray. She disappeared into the kitchen, a few minutes later coming out with a carton of milk. She sat down and began chugging it.
Everyone at the table was preoccupied with something, but Shadow noticed and watched in confusion as the blond cat drank the whole carton in a matter of seconds.
When Honest finished it and set it down on the table in front of her, Shadow asked, "Did you just drink that whole thing?"
"Yes," Honest said drowsily, immediately feeling the effects of the milk on her ability to feel awake. Shadow tried to continue eating his sandwich, but Honest soon began to lean on him, almost pushing him into the floor. He didn't say anything in fear that he may wake her, but he was considering it the whole time. Eventually everybody left the table and he was forced to, much to his dismay.
"Wake up, Honest. It's time to leave. You slept all the way through lunch," he pointed out, though it had only been a few minutes since she had arrived there later than them.
She didn't open her eyes, only whispering, "I can't get up," and lifting her hands towards him. He sighed loudly before getting up and carrying her to the door. He felt eyes on him as he did this, but he tried to block them out. They should understand by now how Honest was. After all, she had been around for two and a half years now.
"Pathetic, weak-"
"You do know I'm awake, right?"
"Oh, yeah. Sorry." He carried her all the way to the front steps and they sat down in the sunlight. The last straw occurred when the sunlight affected Honest so much she began to drool. Shadow made a sound of disgust and pushed her away from him.
Eventually it was time to go in, and Honest was revived when she realized she needed to work on the next chapter of her fan fiction. She had finished the last chapter that morning, but now was the best time to work on her next one now that she had inspiration from the events that transpired just a few moments ago. Also, she could resume Monday reflecting on what had happened Friday, though over the weekend she would most likely forget everything and have a hard time remembering it to write about it Monday. Those were some big last two sentences. And before you say anything about the lack of grammar in that sentence, remember what Tails said...
"Look at all those Eggman's robots!"
A-Anyway, uh, sorry about that. Honest watched videos of people giving speeches all seventh period. It was kind of boring, but also kind of.. interesting. How could those humans have enough courage to speak in front of all those other humans? It fascinated Honest, but she just ended up assuming that it was because humans lacked humility.
Eighth period, Honest hoped and prayed that Dr. Eggman wouldn't give them homework to do over the weekend. Honest had a lot of work she had to do the two days she didn't have school. She did not need to worry about homework the whole time. It would just result in her not being able to focus on getting actual work done. (Though the Doctor might like to argue that homework is actual work.) Surprisingly, he didn't give her any homework that day.
Even though Honest had drank a whole carton of milk, that still didn't solve her hunger. She definitely wasn't dehydrated, though, that's for sure. Plus, she had a water bottle in her backpack filled with a mysterious, green substance she could drink. It had replaced the bottle of tea that went bad after two to three weeks of being carried around everywhere. This drink had most likely been in her backpack longer, though it wasn't going bad because it was just flavored water. Not very mysterious at all, now that I think of it. :/
Monday, Honest and Shadow were standing at the front door, waiting for Sonic to get ready. Eventually he appeared and walked past them and outside. "It doesn't matter to me whether I show up to school early or late. I'm going to have to take all of my tests at the end of the semester whether I get too many tardies or not because of my grades."
"You might get kicked out of football," Shadow reminded him. He just shrugged and zipped off.
"Why do we even wait for him? We should've left when we were ready and left him here," Honest told Shadow angrily. Shadow crossed his arms.
"You're the one who said we should wait for him," he reminded her.
They both had dentist appointments tomorrow, so they would get tardies for four classes then, too. They just couldn't catch a break, could they?
"You're the one who said they saw a door over here!" Honest exclaimed.
Shadow just raised a brow in confusion. Honest laughed. "Sorry. Just had to. :3"
Third period, they had a sub, and so they copied down vocabulary all period.
Fourth, Honest watched boring videos all period about something she could easily learn herself in a few minutes.
Fifth, Honest finished her drawing of orange and red flowers and reflected on how boring it had been to draw them.
Sixth, study hall, they had the substitute again, but then again... it was still study hall. Honest knew that she could draw if she wanted to without being told she couldn't, but she still didn't feel like drawing. She worked on her fan fiction (which might as well be an autobiography of her life now) instead.
Meanwhile, Shadow was taking... some sort of class in the classroom down the hall (I don't know what it is he's taking. Oh no! o). It was in the science classroom; Honest knew that for sure. He asked the teacher if he could run use the restroom. On the way to the bathrooms, he could've sworn he felt somebody watching him. He brushed off the feeling and focused on getting finished using the restroom so he could return to class. He walked back out into the hallway a moment later. There was a brown, badger girl wielding a boomerang waiting for him outside.
"Did you or did you not just use the bathroom just now? Answer me, android scum! If you didn't, then you must be an android!"
Shadow jumped when she suddenly sprung out of nowhere and asked him a question.
"Uh.. yeah. You're that badger... Sticks, right? From Sonic Boom?" he asked.
"I am! Did you use your android scanners to find that out?" She was clearly bent on the idea that he was an android.
"I don't have scanners. I, uh, watch the cartoon." She continued to question him.
"Why are you spying on me? What do want to find out by watching us? Where are your android overlords?" He tried to break and run for it, but she held him in place by his arms.
"Is the government paying you to watch us? Are you working on the behalf of a society of aliens living in outer space?" Shadow eventually realised what she was suggesting.
"So let me get this straight.. Just because I'm an alien robot that works for the government, I'm out to get you?" Shadow then realised what he had just said.
"So you admit it!" Sticks exclaimed. Eventually a door opened nearby. Marine stepped out.
"Captain Substitute wanted me to tell you two drongos to quit talking. There are people in there that are trying to study! Strewth!" Shadow pried the badger girl off of him.
"I admit it, okay. Now go back to class." He began walking off.
Sticks was about to say something back to him, but thought twice about it. "F-Fine then." She walked the opposite direction.
Strewth! xD I kind of want to ship them together because their roles overlap pretty well. She hates robots, government agents, and aliens. It just so happens that he is all three! :D Stadow? Shticks? Shtickadow? I like Shticks honestly. :3 Anyway, please (consider leaving a review if you enjoyed reading). Thanks so much for reading! It means so much to me to see that you're enjoying this story. 3
(Just two chapters left! :3)
