Hey guys, I know I've been MIA for quite a while but now I'm finally back. I know you are all waiting to hear what Arceus has to say to Tregg in this chapter. But first, if you haven't yet, please go check out my cousins stories his writers name is Eklypse22. Your support means allot to me. Thank you all for sticking with this story and enjoy the chapter.
(Time for Arceus' big important speech, lets go!)
"This is a story that only I still know." Arceus said, sadness tinging the Pokémon gods' words. "As you know, in the beginning there was nothing, just this black void, and me." An image appeared, of a different looking Arceus that radiated power. "Back then I had my full power. Before I used them to create the universe, all the 18 type plates were in my possession." Arceus continued wistfully, "The first things I created were the sun, the moon, and then the earth." Tregg saw these twist into being from swirls of light emanating from Arceus. "Next, I made a companion in this world for myself, a being of immense power, a Pokémon called Steelagon (FM)." Arceus sighed, "If only I knew how that would turn out." Tregg looked and saw the shadow of a dragon-like Pokémon appear next to Arceus in the vision Tregg was seeing.
"Hold on a minute, are you saying this Pokémon is no longer by your side?" inquired Tregg, "And if I may, what does this have to do with me?"
"I am getting there." Arceus said, annoyance evident in his tone, "Humans, always asking questions. You are my second greatest achievement yet whenever I speak with one of you, you seem to always find a way to annoy me with your questioning." Arceus ended its tirade, "now, where was I? Ah yes, my greatest creation and companion. After I created Steelagon I treated him as an equal. That was where I made my mistake." Arceus' eyes darkened, remembering what had happened.
"At first, we were both content, however when we created more beings like us. You humans know them by the title, Legendary Pokémon. Steelagon felt he was now second to all these Pokémon in my eyes. Which could not be farther from the truth, but that fact did not stop him from fighting these other Legendary Pokémon. Steelagon challenged all of them to a fight. He trounced every one of them in a battle that lasted for only a day but destroyed the universe I had built. Leaving us once again with nothing but blackness." Arceus paused, pain clear in his eyes as the images of the epic battle played out in front of the human and the god.
'He may have had to destroy Steelagon, I mean otherwise how could there be any Legendary Pokémon today. It also would explain why I have never heard of Steelagon before.' Tregg thought to himself.
"human you forget I gave you your psychic gifts, I possess them as well. And no, I did not destroy Steelagon, I was not able to. Instead after creating the universe again I sealed Steelagon on an island on earth." Arceus paused, clearly having trouble seeing the image of him sending Steelagon away wrapped in chains of light. "It took years, 10 to be exact. But Steelagon broke free and came to challenge me, it saddened me greatly to battle my beloved creation. But fortunately, the breakout had weakened Steelagon considerably while I still had all of my plates, and thus my full power. Though the battle destroyed my precious universe once again. Once I had remade the universe, I then sealed him away again, though this time I used my plates to do this, sealing pieces of both mine and Steelagon's power within them. Then I scattered the plates throughout the earth, to keep Steelagon bound. Doing this meant I ended up revealing myself to humans though." Arceus said, there was no joy in his voice as he said all of this.
They both stood watching the images of Arceus scattering the plates and humans noticing him for the first time. "This was not the last time I sealed Steelagon either. 6 years later he once again broke the seal to fight me, this battle lasted for an entire year and it once again destroyed the universe I had created. When I reformed the universe, I discovered that our fighting had yielded a new form of evolution known as Mega Evolution. Our blood that was floating in this void crystalized as it fell to earth, Steelagon's forming Keystones, and mine Mega Stones. Steelagon and I were both severely weakened by this battle, but the creation of Mega Evolution had given me an idea to how I could more effectively seal Steelagon. I then made some of Steelagon's power into a Mega Stone, successfully preventing it from being used. At least until a human, your father helped him to regain that power."
"Wait just a minute, my father helped a Legendary Pokémon know to literally only you escape his bonds?" Tregg inquired, "I find that very hard to believe."
"I cannot lie human. So, you know I speak the truth. When I say your father set Steelagon free, however it cost him his own life." Arceus boomed, "Now may I return to your history lesson?" getting no response as Tregg was in shock from hearing how his father had lost his life. He had apparently lost it helping a Pokémon to fight the God of all Pokémon, not in a shipwreck as he had been told by everyone for his entire life. Once Tregg had stopped reeling from this new information, Arceus continued, "So your father found the Mega Stone know as the Steelagonite, he then started to hear Steelagon's voice when he would hold the stone."
Tregg's eyes widened, "So that voice…." Tregg thought aloud, 'Steelagon must be that metallic voice in my mind.' Tregg finished the thought in his head.
"Yes, the voice you have been hearing is indeed Steelagon's." Arceus replied, nodding in approval of the teen's deduction.
"But I don't have a Mega Stone." Tregg said confused.
"And here I thought you had figured it out. Guess not." Arceus made a movement that amounted to a shrug, given its Anatomy.
That is when it all started to click for Tregg. His father had only left him one thing, the Dracoball. He had never checked inside the mysterious Pokéball, but he was willing to bet that was where the Mega Stone was. Though one thing still confused Tregg, "Wait, but if I am connected to Steelagon, then why did you call me your champion?"
"Ahh, yes, the question that this whole story has been moving towards answering. Now, may I continue?" Arceus asked, if the Pokémon had eyebrows Tregg was sure he would have raised one of them.
Tregg nodded, cutting off the stream of questions that he was just dying to ask the Pokémon god.
"Good," Arceus continued, "now, where was I? Oh right, the connection you have with Steelagon. As you know, you have the ability to communicate with Pokémon. You are the only person I have granted this ability to, it is like a more potent version of the bond my aura guardians, like your cousin share with their partners. I gave this unique ability to you for one reason, and that is because of your bond with Steelagon. I want you to seek out Steelagon, this is why you are my champion. You must bond with him and make sure he does not destroy the universe once more. Because seriously I am tired of rebuilding it, he's like a two-year-old destroying my fort."
Tregg understood, but really everything he knew of life was less than a fort. Come on. "OK, I think I understand. You want me to show Steelagon the good in the world, just one problem, I don't even know where the hell he is."
"Seriously," Arceus sighed, exasperated with the teen, "I am the damn god of all Pokémon do you really think I didn't have a plan for that!? Now get out of my mindscape."
"Woah what, this has been your mindscape this whole time?!" Tregg said, incredulous.
"Um der. If no one else knows any of the information that has been playing like a movie all around us than where else would we be. (softly) Ah humans, always the thinkers." Arceus shook its head.
Tregg flushed with embarrassment, he had obviously heard the remark, being inside Arceus' head and all.
"Now wake up, you are fully healed." Arceus said to the now empty space. "Well I guess he found the door." The Pokémon did a motion that amounted to its version of a shrug.
(While that was happening)
"Come on its been two days," Connor said. "Has anyone found out why he is in a coma still. I mean his vitals have been fine and the bruise is gone with no internal bleeding."
"I just don't know what…" Ashton started, but stopped short when he got a text.
It read, Hey bro, can you pick up my homework. I may be a little behind. Thanks!
He showed the text to Connor, however as he did that another one came through.
That is if you don't want Menz to find out you have a spiderman onesie.
Connor stifled a laugh with tremendous effort and gave his cousin a quizzical look.
Ashton quickly looked at the text and turned red, causing Connor to laugh uncontrollably. Ashton stuffed his phone in his pocket and mumbled "Lets get going already."
It took Connor a while to recover, and by that time he had to use aura to boost his legs and catch up.
When the two boys finally got to school, they saw the sign hanging over the door saying Assembly on the back field instead of third period.
"Wonder what that could mean?" Connor said.
"Well my guess is it means an assembly." Ashton rolled his eyes.
"Wow I never knew your name was No Shit Sherlock!" Connor said.
"Good one cuz," Ashton said, he gave his cousin a light slap on the back of the head.
"Woah! Glasses remember." Connor said catching them with his aura enhanced reflexes before they hit the ground.
Ashton cringed "sorry."
Connor shrugged "no harm no foul. While let's get this day started."
And so the two teens entered the school building
The first two periods of the day crawled past slower than cold molasses (hurray for clichés) and by the time third period rolled around both cousins were itching to finally find out what would be announced at the assembly. After hearing all sorts of rumors and speculation flying around the school all day, they were dying to get some answers.
"come on let's go!" Connor shouted back at Ashton as they ran through the hallways.
"I'm going as fast as I can without aura to help me." Ashton shouted back.
"Well than get some aura." Connor retorted.
"lets just get to the assembly." Ashton replied, rolling his eyes.
As the pair rushed toward the back of the school, they almost collided with a red haired girl coming from another hallway. The teens shared a look, that could never be misinterpreted, it meant 'ugh, not her again'. Because of course the girl that stood in front of them was none other than Sonia.
"Oh wow. You guys must be really excited for the assembly." Bubbled Sonia "Of course I'm excited too, just not as much as you two. I mean wow you were going really fast."
"Yep," Connor replied, "We just want all the guessing to be over."
"Oh, believe me, I want all these rumors that are going around about what it could be to finally be confirmed or denied once and for all. Because there is nothing I hate more than false rumors….." Sonia kept rambling on, but the two boys tuned her out.
'Wow she is worse than normal' thought Ashton. 'She really must be excited.'
While we know Tregg is awake, but this is how he woke up.
When Tregg jolted awake, he expected to find his room at home. However, he was instead greeted by the smell of antiseptic and blinding white sterile walls and ceiling. 'Crap how long did that little meet and greet with Arceus last?' he wondered. He quickly grabbed his phone off of the bedside table. Its screen told him it was Wednesday morning; he had been out of it for two whole days. Tregg shivered and realized he was in a hospital gown, and we all know how drafty those are.
The next thing he did was locate his clothes, once he had done that he made to sit up and realized that there was an IV in his right arm. So he did what any sane person would do (at least according to TV) he ripped it out. Arceus had said he was fully healed, but he felt even better than he ever had in his entire life.
Once he was dressed, he facepalmed, remembering the one thing all teenagers would love to forget. His schoolwork was going to be three days behind by the time he got to it. So, he texted Ashton to ask him to get it for him, he also gave him a little brotherly incentive to do so.
Just as he finished sending his message Nurse Joy walked in with a tray of food. "I thought I heard movement in here. Its good to see you are finally up, that was quite the wound you had." She said setting down the tray.
Tregg's stomach growled as he looked at the hospital food, even the green Jello. He tucked right into the food barely remembering to breath he was so famished. That was one thing that Arceus' mindscape didn't have. But the god of Pokémon didn't need to eat so it made sense.
Just then Tregg's phone buzzed, it was a text from Connor saying glad you are awake, also a onesie, really lol.
Tregg smiled, he knew he would definitely be getting his homework. Now to get out of this hospital.
As Ashton and Connor finally reached the back of the school where the training fields were, they saw all of the teachers and most of the students gathered by the training arenas, including Leon surprisingly. The shear number of people gathered in one spot astounded the cousins. They had never even dreamed that there were this many students or even faculty members at their school. The crowd would only get bigger as there were still ten minutes until the assembly officially began.
Much to the two teens relief, Sonia had started talking to Leon. Seeing this the two cousins seized the opportunity to finally slip away to the shelter provided by the many tall trees that ringed the arena. Breathing a sigh of relief once they reached them.
"Damn, she never stops talking does she." Connor chanced saying while glancing back over his shoulder.
"I know, you would think she would at least need to stop to breathe at the rate she talks." Ashton responded in a whisper, "But apparently she doesn't."
"It would be much harder to tolerate her if she wasn't; you know, kinda hot." Connor said. It was then that a blue shape flew up and out of his backpack, Landing a perfect high jump kick into his back.
'Psychic link remember,' Riolu thought glaring at his trainer so intently Ashton thought his cousin might combust and tapping his temple in a way even a three year old would find demeaning.
"Ow!" Connor exclaimed, then switching to telepathic communication he asked Riolu 'What the hell was that for!'
'You know sometimes it's just so hard sharing a mindspace with you.' Riolu answered telepathically while shaking its dog-like head.
"And what's that supposed to mean!" Connor spat back at the blue Pokémon, this time out loud.
"If you don't know by now you never will." Riolu retorted, also switching to verbal communication.
Ashton who wasn't privy to the exchange had pulled out his phone and was scrolling through Snap, which is an app where trainers post pictures of both Pokémon and themselves. Hearing Riolu shout, he looked up to see if the two had finished arguing yet. He then looked down at his phone to check the time. He then said "If you two are finished arguing, the assembly is going to start in two minutes." He looked at the Pokémon and trainer who were having what looked like a stare down, but easily could have been a mental shouting match.
"Fine," Connor sighed breaking eye contact, "I've been waiting all day for this news so it had better be good."
"Going off of a reading of your classmates' and teacher's auras it is." Riolu said.
"Well than what are we waiting for; lets go hear this!" Connor yelled over his shoulder as he was already halfway to the battlefield.
Riolu and Ashton both sighed and ran to catch up with the aura guardian.
Well that's it for now, I know it took me quite a while to write this chapter. However, with everything happening in the world and university starting back up, this is when I could do it. Chapter 4 is coming rest assured, I'm just not sure when. As always I hope you guys enjoyed the read, thank you for your time and reviews are appreciated. I'll bring you more content as soon as I can.
