Chapter 1
Harsh beginnings
Our story begins one stormy afternoon, we look upon an Espeon and a Vaporeon running for their lives, along with an egg on the Vaporeon's back.
"Come on, we've got to hide the egg!" Scarlet yelled.
"You try carrying the egg for once! I'm moving my flank as fast as I can!" Pyro replied.
The egg shakes a little
"Oh, that is not good! Come on little one, stay in there a little longer for Mommy!" Pyro Pleaded.
A cave can be seen in the distance, the Espeon looks back and spots their pursuers
"They're catching us! But I see a cave just ahead!" Scarlet said.
Pyro speeds up "Then let's get moving!"
They continued running until they reached the cave, with the egg shaking more frequently as they got to the entrance
"They're too close!" Pyro said nervously
"Then hide the egg as much as possible and help me protect it!" Scarlet urged
The Vaporeon nods as the pursuers reached the cave
"Oh, so you've finally given up? A shame, but we mustn't upset our master!" Pursuer 1 states
"Indeed, let's finish this NOW!" Pursuer 2 confirms
"Not so fast" Pursuer 1 calls out to another pursuer "Make sure we weren't followed!" Walks menacingly towards the two "Now tell us what we need to know, or I will let him eat your egg!" Points to the other pursuer in the entrance
"Oh don't tease me! They WILL talk!" Pursuer 2 states
"We won't tell you anything!" Pyro stated
The egg shakes again, alerting the pursuers to its presence
Pursuer 1 grins "You did a horrible job of hiding it! Fine, if you don't want to talk!" Motions to the other pursuer "It's all yours~!"
The second pursuer leaps forward with a burst of speed from a quick attack, attempting to rush the egg. Suddenly, it hits a barrier. Growls "You DARE get in my way!?"
Scarlet grins from the other side of the barrier "Of course, We aren't worried about you~"
Pursuer 2 has an evil grin "You dare, even while at a type disadvantage?"
"Oh, but of course, your kind have always been weak~!" Scarlet taunts as he unleashes a Dazzling Gleam
At this moment, pursuer 2 was sent flying into the side of the cave, causing several stones to fall around them. Seeing her partner being flung into the wall, pursuer 1 went red with rage
"You shall pay for this" Their left eye becomes red "WITH YOUR BLOOD!" Unleashes a devastating Hyper Beam that creates a hole through the Vaporeon's right eye
As the Vaporeon falls down in a heap, the Espeon looks over with the face of pure horror, followed by pure rage
"I was willing to let you go, but now?" Scarlet uses Psychic Terrain "Now this is PERSONAL!" He unleashes an equally devastating Expanding Force which hits both of the pursuers and causes more rocks to fall
All the vibrations from the attacks were taking their toll on the cave they were in. as the two traded blows, both bing much stronger than their partners, the egg began to shake more often, as a dim flash appeared around the egg
Songset begins to wake up [Argh, where am I? It's so dark! I can't see a thing!] Begins to hyperventilate then feels around [A-A wall? It feels so… weird!] Begins to tap the walls and notices they feel weak "!" [They are… What if I?] Begins to hit harder, making some of the wall crack. [This seems too easy to break to be made to contain me] Hits a few more times, hitting harder each time until she breaks through [Success!] Emerges from the egg and looks upon the scene W-What- w-why is my… [Ok, relax, think this through, what could have caused this? My voice is more feminine…] Looks down at herself [I appear to be an Eevee! But I appear to be near an ongoing battle…]
As she looks upon the scene, she sees the Vaporeon and reacts without realising it
Mommy! [Wait, why did I just call her mommy? Could she…?]
As the little Eevee runs over to her mother, pursuer 1 looks over and purposely aims a Hyper Beam towards her. Seeing this, the Espeon jumps in the way of the Beam, as it slices right through him stomach, which he barely survives
Pursuer 1 laughs Maniacally "Not my intended target, but this works out PERFECTLY!" claps with glee
Scarlet barely gets the words out "Songset, run! Get out of here, YOU MUST… survi… Dies due to blood loss
Seeing this, Songset looks to the only other remaining mon alive in the cave, horrified
"Oh, why the face? You'll be joining them soon~" Pursuer 1 purrs as she begins walking towards her "After all, we can't have experiments walking around without knowing their secrets" Points to the Espeon
As she says this, the cave begins to shake
Pursuer 1 is distracted by the shaking "What the…"
Songset takes advantage of the distraction to run past her as fast as she can
As the little Eevee ran towards the exit, she saw another mon flying towards the cave
[Oh shit!] Jumps out of the way of the incoming mon
"Boss, the coast is clear, but ther-" Pursuer 3 is cut off
As he uttered the words, a large piece of the caves ceiling came loose and dropped on his head, crushing him and blocking the cave's entrance, the Eevee safely outside
Songset pants heavily and starts to hyperventilate again [What the fuck was that!? I-I just… hatched? And came out of the egg to that!?] Calms down and begins to talk aloud "Ok, so now what? My daddy said to stay alive no matter what, but why? There has to be some reason he said that…" Begins to walk north
We now shift our focus away from the Eevee for now, and over to an unassuming small village just to the north of the cave. We look upon a Serperior and a Lucario within their home.
"So how was your morning walk hon?" Candy asked
"It was alright, I had to fend off a couple Vibrava but they were no hassle at all!" Sky replied
"Oh that's good to hear. Anyway, I wonder what my sister's doing right now?" Candy wondered
Lays on the couch "Please don't remind me of her, she stopped being your sister as soon as she attacked you last week" Sky stated
"It may be true that she attacked me, but she didn't seem in her right mind, I'm just glad we wer-"
Candy was cut off by the smell of smoke coming from outside
She sniffs the air and looks worried
"What did you smell?" Sky asked
"There's a fire nearby?" Candy said, questioning her assessment
Sky sniffs the air and stands up instantly "That doesn't smell natural… But what could be causing that kind of smell?"
"I'm not sure, but we should investigate!" Candy stated
"But what about the egg?" Sky asked
Candy's pupils start to slowly dilate "I'm sure it'll be fine, we need to make sure it isn't a serious fire"
Sky looks confused "You're usually so much more worried about the egg, why not now? I would have thought that a fire would be making you extra panicked!"
"Well we need to make sure that the fire isn't far away, no point in bringing it with us if the fire is far away" Candy said, in a slightly dazed state
Sky starts walking to the room the egg is kept "Either way, I'll get the egg"
Her pupils dilate more and she uses Vine Whip to grab his arm
"Hey, what's the big dea- What's up with your eyes?" Sky begins to look more worried
"I said, leave the egg! We need to go look for the fire!" She said while holding his arm
"What has gotten into you?" He asks while he uses Blaze Kick to get the Vine off his arm "I am getting the egg, and YOU are staying HERE! You are not acting like yourself" Runs to grab the egg
"How DARE you, that's MY egg!" She says as she slithers after him
Sky grabs the egg and tries to walk through the door, only to be blocked by the Serperior
"Give me the egg NOW!" Candy yells, Using Leafstorm
Sky sees a small gap where the Serperior has left room to turn around and jumps through "As I said, you aren't in your right mind! I shall keep our egg safe until you calm down enough to see it!" Uses Extreme speed and runs out of the house, leaving a screaming Serperior behind
As he exited the house, he could not believe the sight he saw before him. Several houses were on fire, but not from any normal fire, it was swirling around like a mini tornado, and was the colour of pure darkness.
"What the hell is going on here?" His eyes widen as he runs towards where the jail should be "Oh please don't tell me she found a way to escape ALREADY!?"
As he runs through the village, there were many mons going crazy, using Hyper Beams and Flamethrowers, causing complete chaos everywhere he looked, even recognising some as his friends.
"I told them that she was too powerful, but nooo, they had the power of Ice and Arceus on their side, so they would be fiiine… Idiots!"
He continued running through town, occasionally being attacked by rampaging mons but fending them off with ease
"Things are really starting to heat up around here, literally!" Sees the jail "There it is, I hope I'm wrong!"
As he ran near the jail, he noticed there was a think black mist that was coming from the jail
"Well shit, looks like she's still down there at least!"
"Not for LONG!" A mysterious voice said
A figure came up the stairs at an alarming rate. The figure looked like a Serperior that had been burnt to a crisp, causing their scales to turn black and become rougher, their eyes were also as black as their scales and their form was slightly Wispy, with the smoke seemingly seeping from their scales.
Sky jumps out of the way of the creature just in time "Oh this is JUST SWELL!" Begins running away from the creature towards the south
"Aww, what's the matter? SCARED!" It says, slithering after him
"Oh trust me, fear is the LAST thing I'm feeling right now!" Sky replied matter-of-factly
"Then why are you running!?" It asked
"Because I'm not about to put my egg down where it could get crushed/eaten/corrupted or somehow WORSE!" He replied
"Oh how sweet, you think that keeping hold of it will keep it safe?" Laughs maniacally as she rushes towards him, too fast for him to react and knocks the egg out of his grasp
"Noooooo!"
As Sky rushes towards his egg, a flash of light encompasses the egg before it begins to shake more
Starlight begins to wake up [Ow, my head] Looks around and sees she's in complete darkness [What the hell? Why am I in… Ok, calm down, no need to panic, there has to be a reason for this] Feels around the darkness, touching a rough surface [Now that's a strange feeling… Hmm, I wonder] Punches the surface, making a large crack form [Haha! I knew it!] Continues punching the surface until enough pieces fall off that she can escape through [Ok, time to exit this… Oh shit!] Notices that she is soaring through the air "Well this isn't good! [What the fuck was that!? A female voice? That's just insane!]
Sky notices that the egg has hatched in mid air and jumps to save the little mon
[What am I?] Starlight looks down at herself [I-I'm a Snivy!? What the hell happened last night?]
Sky manages to catch the little Snivy and lands on the wall of a hill with a large cliff, sliding down to safety
"A-Are you ok, are you hurt?"
[Who the hell is he? Why do I feel like crying? W-why do I feel like saying…] Daddy! Starlight hugs him tightly
"Don't worry my little one, Daddy's here" He gives her a little nuzzle
Begins to clap sarcastically "Bravo, bravo! You managed to save her from hitting the ground, but I am still here~" The monster taunted
"And why should I care? She has hatched which means she can hide!" He motions for her to run and hide
She does as he says [What have i just… hatched? Into?]
He glares at the creature "I shall make you wish that you were never born!" Uses Extreme Speed to run up the cliff face and into the air, followed up by a Shadow Ball
"Well shi-" Is hit by the Shadow Ball as part of its body flies off, only to reform moments later "Haha, it shall take more than… Where the hell did y-" It questioned
He appears behind it and uses yet another Shadow Ball, this time aimed for the head
It barely dodges its head out of the way, but it still hits its neck, decapitating it
"That ought to slow you down!" He says as he goes to check on the little Snivy "It's safe to come out for now"
Starlight peaks out from the bush she was in and runs over to Sky "Daddy!" Jumps up to him and hugs him tightly again
"You have been very brave so far, but we need to get out of here, hop on my shoulder and hang on tight!" He told Starlight
"Oki" [I have never said that word out loud in my life, so why does all of this feel so… right and natural?] "But that was a little scawy" [Great, I can't even pronounce my Rs in speech… at least it was cute!] Starlight complimented herself
"Well don't worry, I'm here to protect you!" He says
Starlight beams up to him and nuzzles his neck [This just feels too nice to be a dream, I'm glad I'm here right now… Just wish my friend was here to enjoy this…] Has a small frown
He sees the small frown "What's wrong?"
"Don't wowwy daddy, I'm oki" [Why do I suddenly feel... sleepy?] Her eyes begin to close
He chuckles to himself "It has been quite the experience for your first few minutes, have a little nap, I'll be with you when you wake" Smiles
Starlight nods as she falls asleep
"Now, let's go see if she's calmed down enough"
With that, Sky walks back through the streets to see the damage that had been caused, only to find the entire village in ruin, most houses were on fire and most of the mons that were being destructive had died, with no mons surviving the carnage
"How… I was away from here for 5 minutes… How has there be- Oh no!" Runs towards his house
As the Sky ran back to his house, he saw more carnage and destruction, until he saw his house, the roof had partially collapsed and it was on fire
He runs inside the house "Candy! Where are you!? Spots her laying on the floor, in a pool of blood, presumably dead "No… Nononono! Puts Star down and lays with Candy, tears flowing, unrelentlessly.
As he lay there, her body slowly began to become dark, until it was as black as night. Moments later, her body began to melt into a black puddle, which slowly began to move towards Star, unbenounced to Sky. As the liquid reaches Star, it seeps into her right eye, as she stirs in her sleep. Sky, hearing this, looks up and sees that Candy's body is missing, and sees the last of the liquid enter her eye.
"Oh no, nonononono! This can't be happening!" Picks Star up "You'll be ok, I'll make sure of it!"
With that, Sky ran out of his burning house, towards the next town to the south, in search of help for his daughter, and his town.
