Keeping Watch
Rex entered the house. Scylla wheeled out to keep watch.
"Black SUV, is it?" she told herself. It was too dark to see much.
Lief hopped beside her. "Need assistance?"
"In this dark night, yes," Scylla replied.
Damon turned into the driveway. Maia unfroze. The entire complex consisted of two buildings: an average family home linked to a modest-sized warehouse.
Damon shifted into park.
Maia slid off the roof rack and onto the pavement. The others followed close behind.
Scylla froze. Lief clung onto her bag.
Maia spotted them.
"Excuse me, but is this Armstrong's Appliance repair?" Maia asked.
Scylla and Lief were too scared to respond.
Tempest turned on his light. "We're at the place. Let's pay our old friend a visit."
Lief and Scylla watched as the villains entered the warehouse.
Forrest awoke. Lief and Scylla stood by him.
"What? You look like you've seen a ghost."
Lief hopped on a box and looked out the window. A strange drill-lamp-fan hybrid closed the warehouse door.
"They're in the warehouse."
Forrest shook. "No time to rest. We need to take action."
Four scared Rainbows sat on the shelf. Maia chuckled.
"We only want one of you..." she said.
Tempest hopped in front of Maia. "You know which one."
