It Just Might Work

The door to the Rainbow Room was closed. It felt like something was standing on the other side, holding the door closed.

Forrest and the other vacuums sat outside the door.

"How are we going to save them?" Rex asked.

Forrest thought for a while. "Hmm, I think I recall seeing something like this on an episode of..."

The other vacuums waited for an answer.

"...a show I used to watch when my Master's son was young."

Forrest's love affair with human TV programs began when he first woke up.

Forrest's laptop companion scrambled over. "Is this the one you were talking about?"

The laptop played a clip where a costumed actor, dressed like a panda, used a vacuum cleaner as a battering ram. She had accidentally left her house keys outside and needed to get out of the house.

"Really?" Emily groaned after the clip was played. "You're using TV logic?"

"Well, it just might work."

After Forrest left, the other vacuums had a long discussion.

"Does he always use TV logic in situations?" Samael asked.

"Uh, yes," Rex replied. "Usually, it's one of the more serious shows, not the Chocolate Malts."

Forrest returned with another vacuum: an old Electrolux vacuum.

"I'm ready! Let's save the lamps!" the other vacuum said.

Rex rolled his eyes. "Of course he uses the crazy one."

The old Electrolux wheeled forward. "Ready when you are." She said.

"Fire at will, Eileen," Forrest said.

Eileen rammed herself into the door.

Slate felt the door twitch.

"Something's trying to come in!" he said.

Tempest turned around.

"All right, let them in," Tempest replied.
