The next day
The silver haired girl woke up from her sleep , wore a pair of black jeans with a white top and blue sneakers . She found out that she woke up very early and the mid- thirtied man is still asleep . She said to herself :
Well the earlier I go , the earlier I get back home .
Then she grabbed a sticky note and wrote :
Dear Harald ,I am pretty sure you'll get worry that I left without breakfast . But it's fine , trust me . I will be going to find where daddy could be in this village . So I hope you just don't get mad at me for leaving also without telling you . I'll be back at 6 .And have a good day .
All love , Dina .
She sticked it to the fridge and left on her way .
She walked all the way , stopped at every house , asked a few questions to every citizen . But all of them seem to have told her the same rumor . Until she found an old man cleaning up his store .
He might help me too if i helped him .She rushed over to help him carrying tons of boxes . The old man was happy to find a kind girl to help him .
An hour later
They both got tired and had a seet . The old man decided to open up to the young girl :
" Thank you so much for helping me . I should do something for you , young girl . By the way , you remind me a lot of Harald . I must think you live with him "
The young girl didn't know what to answer so she said :
" Well actually , practicly everyone in this city noticed the resemblance between us . We may have had the same backstories but our lives are different of course . By the way I came to ask you about him . Is there something you know more about him . "
" Is that so ? Then what I said about you was true . Did you come from Neo Domino City ? " the old man asked her .
" Yes , but wait , you mean Harald may really be my father ? " she asked confusely .
The old man breathed heavily , and thought it's time to tell this girl the truth to be told :
" Actually , he is your father . I know you might be shocked . First he's no other than a Rune - eyed heretic and I suppose you are too . And secondly , he had a reason actually to leave you . Not because he doesn't love you . In contrary , he sobbed days and days about you , regretting for leaving his 10 months old precious baby girl. I was with him , helping him to move on and that's how I acually know him . Do not underestimate his love to you . He kept it a long secret , and I think he figured it out before you . He didn't want to tell you because he didn't want to lose you . So he let you figuring it out . And also he had a very sad life : when he first quit the military , his uncles , who worked there and forced his family to send him to the base , have traited their family and burned his parents and sister alive , in front of his eyes . And after his wife passed away while giving birth to you and became a widower , he didn't want to risk his own daughter's life in danger . That's why he never told anybody about you and he always wanted to protect you from harm . That was the harm he's been talking about . I hope you don't get angry at him . He always loved you , no matter what . "
Dina was left speechless . She had nothing to do in front of the old man but to cry heavily on his shoulders . She was angry at first but when the old man explained everything , she felt sorry for her father . All she wanted to do now is to go to her own father and hug him tightly , she wanted him back again in her life .
At night ,
The silver haired girl left and thanked the old man for telling her the truth that she always wanted to know . It was 6 already . She was scared to make her father worry about her . She rushed to her house , she never cared about what people would say about her . The only thing she wanted is to find Daddy and she finally did.
Meanwhile , Harald was preparing the dinner . As he got tired of keeping such a secret on his daughter , he decided to tell her the truth about him . But little does he know that she knew already .
He heard a knock on the door . He opened it and saw Dina with tears .
" Daddy ! " Was all what she said and hugged him tightly crying again on his shoulders .
The yellow eyed man had nothing left to do only to hug her back and shed some tears . But this time , they were tears of joy . He never cared how did she knew , he only wanted to be with her at the moment .
" I like the sound of it , Little Wolf ! " he brightly said .
They hugged longer than it should be and pulled each other away .
Minutes later ,
" So , daddy ? " the yellow eyed girl asked him while both washing dishes .
" Yes dear ? " he smiled and answered her .
" What does mom look like ? I think she's a really beautiful woman . Am I wrong ? "
" You may have all my features , but you always still have your mother's beauty and optimism . " He said . " You see , when I was a passive person , your mother was strong , beautiful , optimist and on top of that : unstoppable . I fell also in love with her deep blue eyes that showed me a way to escape the bad life I had as you seem to know now . I missed her a lot . If she was here , she would have killed me for leaving you and going back to the army . " as he goes back sadly to wash the rest of the dishes .
She suddenly pulled him in a hug and told him : " Mom would have been happy because you always believed and had faith on your daughter . I think this is the father-daughter bond we share : it's faith in each other . "
It was late . Both of them had to go sleep but this time , it's exceptionnel because they will have to sleep next to each other .
" Papa Wolf ? Do you have a bedtime story to tell me ? " the young Rune-eyed heretic asked with an innocent tone .
" Well if you admire history . I have many because now you're older enough to start loving history " the older one answered back .
She simply nodded and smiled at him . He started talking and talking until sleep overtook both of them , hugging tightly and close to each other.
This is what I like to name " Fatherly love ".
