~Chapter 29~
Elsa
James knocked the wind out of me as I hit the ground with a harsh roll. Being someone with powerful elemental magic, it didn't matter in this moment. James didn't bat an eye at anything I threw at him. This wasn't looking good. I crawled over to Marcus and touched his face and put my palm in front of his mouth. He was breathing, that was a relief. I struggled to my feet and tried to freeze him to the ground, but I was too slow and he dodged quickly. James leapt toward me I tried to freeze his arm, but I missed. He grabbed my throat squeezing tightly. I gasped for air and clawed at his arm. Marcus groaned behind us and I saw his eyes flutter open. It took a few seconds for him to really focus, but once he did, his face looked panicked.
"Elsa? Let her go!" He muttered, struggling to his feet.
"You will watch this." James growled, squeezing me tighter, "And then you will join her."
"No!" Marcus cried, he swung his arm sending a firebolt toward James, but it missed.
I didn't dare give up and a sharp icicle hit and pierced his arm. It must have done something because James released me yanking the icicle out turning to face me looking angrier than ever. Suddenly a snowball hit him in the head.
"Watch out for my butt." Olaf yelled.
It didn't even make him flinch, but that's not why Olaf threw it. I glanced up at the cliff overhead as Anna dove down and hit the ground in a graceful roll. In one fluid motion, she picked up the obsidian weapon and struck James with it.
As the weapon pierced his chest, James froze as a dark shadow started to emerge from his mouth. It screeched and was terrifying. I could almost see some light return to James's eyes. The man that had been held captive by Kuva for so long. Anna took the weapon and stabbed his chest again quickly.
"Thank you." James muttered.
He turned to stone and faded away with the wind in seconds. I helped Marcus steadily rise to his feet as Olaf and Sven came out from their hiding place. Kristoff hopped down joining Anna's side as we all looked at each other in disbelief.
"Is it really over?" Anna asked.
"I think so." I nodded.
Immediately hugging each other in sheer relief, Marcus pulled away glancing at me.
"Let's go home."
