AN: I'm not dead! I have a lot planned out now, but putting it into words is a different story. I'm just going to go for it and see how it goes. I am determined to finish this though so I hope y'all stay with me. Love you all and on with the chapter!

Chapter 6:

Adrien went to his room with a skip in his step and a dopey smile on his face that night. He put the umbrella by his bag so he could return it to Marinette tomorrow and then he started changing into his PJ's. He decided to make a plan for his night outings.

"Plagg?" Adrien asked as he slipped out of the borrowed hoodie and into his pajama top, aka a large t-shirt. "What do you think would be the best idea for going out and still getting some sleep? Have any ideas?" As much as he'd like to just sit and daydream about Marinette, he'd like to get back out.

Plagg was floating towards the mini fridge where the camembert was kept. "Well, here's the thing. I can keep you from getting unhealthy side effects if you get four hours of sleep. But, it'd still feel like you got four hours of sleep."

"Wait so I won't die but I'll still feel like I didn't get very much sleep?"

"That's one way to say it."

"Okay. I'm still going to try to get close to eight hours of sleep a night since I want to actually enjoy school." Adrien's gears turned as he switched the sweatpants for a pair of basketball shorts. "Doesn't crime become most active after midnight?"

"Well, when it's dark. Midnight sounds about right." Plagg lazily said as he started to slowly eat his cheese.

"Okay. Four hours could be from 8-12 then I'll head out. Then I think even night owls feel tired after three. I think four would be a good time to come back, then sleep until I have to get ready for school."

"You do whatever kid. I'm going to sleep while you're at school." This made Adrien laugh as he looked at the clock. It was about 7:30 and he wanted to try out his new plan.

"See ya in a few hours Plagg."

Adrien woke up at midnight, and he was still slightly sleepy. His room was still dark after all. But, he remembered his plan and shook himself awake. With a 'Plagg, Claws out!" he jumped out of his window and into the night. He wouldn't get tired of this. As soon he felt he was awake enough he slowed down to look around as he continued jumping from roof to roof. Just at a slower pace.

An hour later he had caught some drug dealers. He caught them and then zip tied them together. They were really big burly men, but his super powers did wonders to his speed and agility. He was able to tangle them up and capture them with relative ease as they tried to hit him without any luck. They were just too slow. Adrien called the police as he started climbing up a lamppost to hopefully get him up to a roof easier. .

"9-1-1 what's your emergency?" the desk lady asked in a sleepy voice.

"Hey, I have some more guys for the police to pick up. Behind the Grand Pari Hotel."

The woman at the desk seemed to immediately snap out of her tiredness.

"It's you again! Stay where you are!" she said hurriedly as she heard her mess with some things on her desk and mutter some things to what he assumed was the police.

"I'm slightly busy though, so.." she cut him off.

"Sir, we need to take you in. This could likely be called assault in court, not to mention you don't have the authority to capture anyone. Unless you want to be in trouble with the law, you do as we say. Understood?"

Adrien hadn't thought of this. He just answered a quiet ok as he waited on his lamppost above the men he captured.

"Thank you for your compliance." the lady said as he heard a police siren coming from around the corner. She hung up as four officers in two cars showed up. Two got out and got the men into one car while the other two pointed their pistols at him. The man on the right seemed scared while the woman on his left had a stoic expression.

"Now, get down from there and come into the light with your hands in the air." the man shakily said. Chat did as he was told and he slid down the side and came into the light with his hands raised.

"Excuse me guys, could you not point those at me? I may have powers, but it's still scary." He asked as politely as he could. The female officer looked to her partner, and told him to put his gun away as she stepped closer.

"Hello. I need to take you in. I'm not arresting you, we just need to ask you some questions." she said as she motioned with her hands to the car that was still there. He got into the back of the car and they made their way to the paris police station. They arrived and he went into an office near the back of the building. There was two people asking him questions. One he recognised as the chief of police, Roger. The other was someone who looked like a lawyer.

"So," the lawyer asked. "You have powers like Ladybug. Correct?"

"Well, they function similarly, but they are very different. Hers is based on good luck while mine is based off of bad. Ladybugs are lucky, black cats are a bad omen." Chat said, remembering what Plagg told him the first day they met.

"May we ask what your powers do?" Roger asked.

"Well, you know how ladybug has the lucky charm?" he warily asked as they nodded.

"Well, with mine I can destroy whatever I touch." At that they looked slightly alarmed. "That sounds really bad doesn't it?"

"Well yes. With Ladybug she fixes what is broken, so there is no collateral damage. With this super power of yours, it destroys something and then it won't be fixed. Unless you have something that reverses damage?"

"Well, no. I have night vision and enhanced senses instead. I haven't ever used cataclysm though I swear."

They thought for a few moments and they conversed amongst themselves for a moment. Then Roger asked:

"Well that explains some things, but why don't you just help Ladybug?"

"Well, I think she's got the supervillains under control. The akuma from this morning took what like seven minutes? My job in this is a little more discreet. Crime is everywhere, and it causes people heartache. I also think the man behind all of it is somewhere and I intend to find him. I'll help Ladybug if she needs it, and I'll tell her if I need help. She's out during the day, and I'm out at night. That way Paris is always being watched." he said honestly.

There was a pause. Then both men smiled.

"Thank you for your honesty. We don't really have a problem with you working with us. All we ask is that you try to preserve any evidence that is at a scene and try not to use that Cataclysm of yours. Okay?" Chat smiled and shook their hands. "Oh and what should we call you?"

There was a pause while he thought about it.

"Chat Noir."

Two weeks later…

Marinette booked it to school with a croissant in her mouth and her backpack over one shoulder. She woke up to her alarm but she fell back asleep for a while. I really need to start setting better morning habits, she thought as she slid into her desk and slammed her notebook and pencil on her desk. It was then she actually looked around. Wait, I'm early?

The classroom was empty, and people were still chatting with one another in the halls as they usually do before they start the day.

"Tikki? Am I hallucinating?" Marinette whispered into her bag.

"No. You only fell back asleep for a few minutes before you jerked back awake. And I think you thought you were late out of routine. I think this is a record marinette!" Tikki whispered and then giggled quietly. "You have some time. You can do your homework or find your friends or something if you'd like."

"You're right Tikki. I'm going to find Alya. I'm sure she has something interesting to talk about." Marinette decided as she put her notebook and pencil back in her backpack. She then walked out of the classroom and found Alya as she walked through the front door. Once she saw Marinette she did a double take and rubbed her eyes with a look of surprise.

"What kind of alternate universe did I just walk into? Girl, we have like ten minutes before class starts."

"Funny story actually. I woke up and thought I was late without checking my clock. Now here I am. Have you gotten anything exciting for the Ladyblog recently? I haven't been able to check." Marinette does check once in a while to see how she did as ladybug, but now she just wants to see what Alya's working on now.

"Girl! I have a really big scoop for you! I'm thrilled to show it all to you. I need more evidence, but if it's all true it's going to be groundbreaking!"

"What is it? Tell me!"

Alya smiled and typed on her phone for a second before handing it to Marinette. On the screen was a news article, with the title of 'Glowing Green Eyes'. This had her intrigued.

"What is this Alya?" she asked as she started reading the article.

"I think there may be another superhero in paris."

Marinette was stunned for a moment before the gears in her head started turning.

"Wait, but wouldn't they have come out with ladybug to fight akumas if there was?" Marinette asked. Her work would be easier with help dang it!

"That's what I thought until I watched this part here." Alya said as she scrolled the article down a few paragraphs. There was a video interview with a reporter talking to a man in a prison cell.

"So," a woman asked on one side of a glass. "You've been telling the court that a man with glowing eyes caught you. Is this a hero like ladybug?"

On the other side, a man spoke nervously, like something was going to haunt him or something.

"Yes. I was with my little team, and we got back to our van and thought we were safe. Then he knocked us out one by one. I only got a small glimpse, bit it was a boy with bright green eyes." he said quickly.

"Can you describe what he looked like by any chance?"

"I didn't see much else? I saw a human-like shadow and glowing green eyes. Just for a split second. Next thing I knew I was in the back of a cop's car."

Right after the video interview, Marinette read more into the article. It seemed like people didn't actually believe what this man was saying. The police reported that there had been a lot of alcohol in these men's systems and they think the vision of glowing green eyes was a hallucination. None of the other members in the so-called 'team' reported seeing it, saying they don't even remember that night. The rest of the article was about the crimes this gang of people committed. A lot of identity theft and a few robberies at local businesses. Marinette became sceptical.

"Alya. It says these men were drunk. It was probably a hallucination by the guy in the interview."

"I know it sounds crazy Marinette. But, think about it. It would do this city some good if there was a super-powered crime fighter that comes out at night, don't you think? Besides, It would be too cliche if Ladybug came by herself."

"I don't think there's anything wrong with that stereotype though. But, If you find enough evidence that is not based on a drunk man's testimony then I'll believe you."

Alya smirked. Challenge accepted.

"Oh you're going to believe me alright. I'll get him in an interview, and you'll see." She said confidently.

"Deal." They shook on it as the bell rang and they had to go to class.

What if there really is another hero though? A thought popped up in Marinette's mind as she was doing bellwork. Well, then I'd like to meet him.

AN: Yes I'm back. I'm going to continue working on this. Thanks for sticking with me. Sorry but I don't know much about France's laws and things so I'm going to go with something similar to the United States. I think a meeting is on the horizon… Hope y'all enjoyed!
