Chapter 5
Ash clearly doesn't want Gary around, Serena thought. I'll just tell Gary that for him, yeah, today at lunch! She smiled proudly at herself. Her Pokémon, whom she was grooming, all looked up at her questioningly. "Oh, its nothing guys, don't worry!"
God, the nerve of that blonde bitch! I can't believe she said that to me! Gary thought as he stared blankly at his computer.
-Flashback-
Gary had just sat down at the breakfast table, waiting for everyone else to arrive. He sat there with Umbreon on his lap, purring at the feeling of Gary's hands brushing through her fur. Suddenly, Umbreon started to growl. Gary looked up from his Pokémon to see what caused her to get so upset. Serena walked around to his side, not caring about the Pokémon growling and glaring at her, and sat beside Gary.
"You're a dick with no friends," she said casually.
"Excuse me?" he half shouted.
"You heard me." Gary was going to yell something at her when the youngest member of the group sat across from them. "
You guys ok?" she asked innocently.
"I am, not sure about the loser beside me," Serena said with a smirk. Gary glared at her and scoffed. He wasn't going to stoop to her level, especially with Bonnie right there.
"I don't think Gary's a loser," she said.
"Thanks Bonnie," he said with a small smile on his lips. It was at that moment Clemont walked in and sat beside his sister.
"Well he is, so don't trust him. Last night you saw how rude he was to Ash right? That's his true personality, he's faking right now," Serena replied as seriously as possible. Gary scoffed once again. He was slowly losing his temper. For the next 5 or so minutes, Serena tried her best to make him crack. It wasn't until just before Ash walked in that he reached his limit. His breaking point was when she mentioned his parents. Everyone knew his parents died in a car accident when he was 5, but Serena took it way to far.
"Your parents probably died on purpose to escape you," she giggled. She had waited for Clemont and Bonnie to go grab their food to say that, as to not look horrible in front of her friends. Ash walked in moments after, and he snapped. He wanted to hit her, but he didn't.
-Flashback over-
By then, he was on the verge of tears.
"Breo," his companion purred whilst rubbing her head against his calves. He smiled weakly at her before returning his gaze to his computer. On the screen were a bunch of photos and an email.
Dear Prof. Sycamore,
My name is Gary Oak. I'm an old friend of Ash Ketchum's. I heard you could contact him, and was wondering if you could do me a favour. I want to surprise visit him, but neither I nor my gramps could set that up alone. I want to ask if you would help me, as I need to tell Ash something important.
Thanks, Gary
Of course, the professor agreed, somehow knowing exactly what he wanted to do. The photos that were scattered across his desktop were all of Ash. Some were ones he took, others with him in it, and the rest were from his Gramps and Delia, as both figured out very early on about his crush on Ash. He sniffed and wiped his eyes. He started to jot down notes on the different behaviours of some newborn Kanto Pokémon that were residing in the lab. His work was interrupted by a knock at the door.
"What," he groaned. The door slowly opened, and a small blonde figure popped their head through the door.
"I brought you lunch," she said shyly.
"Thanks," he whispered. "Come here." He motioned her over to him. As she came over, she placed the food on the desk. Gary lifted the young girl up and placed her on his lap, which she giggled slightly at.
"That's a lot of pictures," she said. Her eyes were wide, and her jaw dropped. "Is that a young Ash?" she asked, pointing to one photo. The photo was of Ash and Gary when they were 8. It was the middle of winter and both of them had been playing in the snow. Gary had a big blue jacket on, gloves and black pants with green shoes, whilst Ash had taken his jacket and gloves off and was only wearing a long-sleeved shirt and pants. He had lost his stuff in the snow when the two had a snowball fight. After a while, Ash started to get extremely cold, so Gary hugged him tightly as they walked to their houses, which where side by side. His Grandfather had taken the picture through the lounge-room window, as he thought the scene was cute.
"Yes, yes, it is," he said.
"Is that you?" she asked, still pointing to the picture.
"Yep."
"Where you guys friends?" she stopped pointing at the picture and was looking into his eyes instead.
"More like brothers," he whispered.
"What happened?"
"Stuff that you're too young for." She nodded her head and jumped off of his lap.
"Bye Gary!" she yelled as she ran out of the room. He smiled at the young girl, happy that she was happy.
Here we go, new chapter. if it sucks its cuz i wrote it last night, but i really like this chapter.
