A few minutes pass in relative silence as the three Force Users ponder on the matter of the Clone Army.

"Why did Anakin contact you?" Qui-Gon's voice brings the younger Jedi out of their musings.

"Shmi is looking kind of ill, so the Queen asked Palpatine's…staff…Doctor…to examine…them…" Callera's eyes going wide as does the other two. Callera instantly hops on the communicator, changing the frequency.

"Captain Panaka speaking."

"Captain it's Callera, has the Doctor gotten there yet?"

"No, he'll be here in an hour."

"Bring the Skywalker's to the Jedi Temple instead."

"Why?"

"The Council want their insights in regards to me. The Order can foot the bill for the medical procedures to speed things up."

"I don't think Shmi would be in any shape to testify even with medicine."

"Between the Force and medicine she'll be fine Captain. I would not be calling and asking for this if it wasn't important. I need their character references for the Jedi to believe me about the attacker on Tatooine."

"Would my words help as well?"

"Of course, they will. While you bring the Skywalkers, I'll clear it with the Council."

"It will take thirty minutes to get there."

"I'll let them know your coming. Thank you, Captain."

*CLICK* The line closes

"The High Council won't like this." Qui-Gon's voice stern.

"It's either that or let Palpatine get access to the 'Chosen One's medical records. Including potential midi-chlorian counts."

That brings Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan up short.

"Won't this still raise the Skywalker's profile in Palpatine's eyes."

"Probably, but hopefully only so much as I care for them and don't want to give him extra grounds to poking around in Anakin's background."

"What's special about his background?"

"He was conceived by the Force. No Father."

"That would lead credence to the 'Chosen One' theory."

And from what notes Sidious left, he suspected Anakin was conceived right when his Master, Plageuis, tried to use the Dark side to create the perfect host body to store their consciousness. It failed but helped Sidious learn how to shift his consciousness to his own clones.

"He can do that?" Obi-Wan's voice tinged with disbelief.

"I don't know if he can do so right now, but in my timeline, he was successful at the time of his death."

"So even if we stop him, he could come back?"

Nodding to Obi-Wan Callera speaks, "The Dark can be insidious and patient as much as it can be destructive and violent."

"And it's that patient insidiousness we face now." Qui-Gon adds.

"Correct. Palpatine is not just a schemer, he is THE schemer. I was surprised, that the bureaucratic paths I set the Queen on worked. I thought he would have blocked those paths as well, rather than just rushing the meeting. The only reason he didn't was he felt he had it all mapped out that a young headstrong woman wouldn't 'waste time' looking for options that might not work or take time and offer her the 'fastest fix."

"But then you gave her tools outside of what he thought she would have."

"Yeah, and he knows it's me that did so. He knew you were there. He knew the Queen's advisors. He had pure Sabacc and expected to win but I turned the Queen's hand into an Idiot's Array and trumped the hand."

"That doesn't change the matter at hand. The High Council will not like you trying to force their hand."

"I don't want to do it, but between that or letting Palpatine know the importance of Anakin; I'll take their ire any day."

The rest of the walk to Master Yoda was silent and brief. "So soon, you come back Master Qui-Gon?"

All three arrivals bow before Callera speaks, "Master Yoda, I have committed the grievous sin of acting before asking the High Council's permission. I summoned Shmi and Anakin Skywalker to the Temple along with Captain Panaka."

Yoda looks through her, 'Important you feel this is."

"I had to keep Anakin out of the hands of Palpatine's doctor."

"Afraid you are, no confidentiality."

"Correct Master Yoda. His mother is ill, but a full check-up for him would also raise flags. His midi-chlorian count would be of instant interest to the Sith."

"Why the Captain?"

"He was the one I contacted to transport them, a character witness for myself to the rest of the Council."

Titling his head the wizened green being closed his eyes, "Bring down more trouble on you, this will."

"It is a price I'm willing to pay." Her icy eyes boring into the grandmaster's own.

Yoda looks at the Master and Padawan next to Callera, "Your thoughts Master Qui-Gon?"

"If we had time to wait, I would counsel waiting, but this doctor's appointment would put the boy at risk." Qui-Gon's quiet resolve calming Callera's nerves.

Looking back at Callera, "Impulsive you are Bladesinger."

"If I didn't know what I know, I wouldn't have done this."

"If what you say is true, a bigger target on the Skywalkers you place."

"I am hoping to play it off as affection and care and wanting to mentor Anakin. He is a good kid with a connection to the Force, leak out I was a slave before my training in the Force and parallels are clear. Regardless of his potential, I can relate to him and want him to land on his feet better than I did."

Yoda's sigh of exasperation seems to have a fond tint to. "Understand I do, why you respect her Master Qui-Gon. Two hours after the Skywalkers arrive, convene the Council I will. Unhappy many will be."

"One cannot please everyone Master Yoda, one can only do what they feel is right and be judged accordingly."

"What of the Force's guidance?"

"For a Jedi what they feel is the right is usually influenced by the Force and the Code Master Yoda. And while I am acting suddenly and with emotion, I am doing so from a place of knowledge and peace with the price I might pay."
