Gary Oak decides to surprise his friend Ash, so he did. all was well at first (kinda), until a jealous travelling companion came into the she'll do anything to get rid of her competition. Will she succeed or will she fall? rated T just in case

9. Chapter 9

When he awoke, he was in a room of white.
"You're awake," Professor Sycamore said from beside his bed.
"Wha-" he started.
"You collapsed from dehydration and shock as Serena was being arrested." Ash blinked a few times as he remembered the events of the night.
"Gary! Where's Gary!" he yelled, sitting up on the bed and searching the room.
"In another room, sleeping still." Sycamore replied. "Why was Serena attacking you?"
"She was jealous," Ash replied, lying back down.
"Of?"
"Gary," Ash stated blankly.

After a whole day of all of his friends from past regions, and other people who he knows, came to check on him, he was finally allowed to leave the hospital. It had been a week since he left, and Gary was on his way to the lab now. They were both headed back to Kanto, to recover from the injuries they acquired. Ash sat in his room at the lab waiting for Sycamore and Gary to arrive. He had packed his bags, and found all of his Pokémon, which Serena hid outside. It turned out she was lying about harming Pikachu. The mouse was with Bonnie during the whole night, which Ash was grateful for.
"We're back!" Sycamore's voice echoed through the lab. Footsteps echoed throughout the house. Ash jumped up off of the bed he was sitting on, which he instantly regretted as a wave of pain shot through him, and walked down to greet them.
"Hey!" Ash yelled as he reached the ground floor. After a short reunion, Ash and Gary set off for the airport.

Both boys sat awkwardly together side by side. The professor had organised a private plane for the two of them. The plane was empty, and large. It felt awkward to Ash, having so much empty space for the two of them. The silence in which they had been sitting for 20 minutes now was not the comfortable sort.
"Uh," Gary started, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
"I um-," Ash started.
"I love you!" Gary blurted loudly. Both faces turned a dark crimson.

Sorry for the crap ending and long wait, i've been really lazy lately, and now i have top do an assignment due in 3 days that i haven't even started, so i'm stuffed.
