Sam and Dean tied Sara to the bed and taped her mouth shut to keep her from screaming and attracting attention. Prue was preparing to do what she needed to do to get the essence out of Sara's body when Leo showed up with the alchemist. Leo held the alchemist's arms behind his back as he struggled. His eyes grew large and panicked when he realized he was faced with his creation…
"Who is that? What is going on now?" Dean demanded, exasperated and overwhelmed. All he wanted was to get whatever was possessing sara out of her and make her safe. He didn't want to lose anyone else.
"You are not going to like what happens next…" Prue said sadly, and she told Leo to explain.
"What is she talking about?" Sam asked looking worried
"The only way to get the essence out of Sara is to kill her. That is why Leo tracked down the alchemist. He can bring her back just long enough so that we can heal her." Leo Explained.
The alchemist let out a laugh and looked over at Sam and Dean.
"What makes you think that I want to help any of you. Why should I? One less charmed one in the world wouldn't be such a bad thing!" When he said this, Bobby had to restrain Dean and Sam looked like he was about to jump over furniture to kill the alchemist.
"But because I like my life I will do what I have to…" the alchemist conceded.
"Sam you may want to leave the room…" Prue said to him, knowing that it would be difficult to understand what she needed to do. She had been through this before and it almost didn't work out last time. At least it was easier this time. She didn't grow up with Sara. She didn't have a connection to her that would make her hesitate.
"I'm staying. I won't leave her…" Sam was adamant, refusing to leave the room at all. He planted himself next to the bed and put his head down on his folded hands.
Sara was watching everything unfold, but it was getting harder and harder to breath. She was losing her battle and she needed them to hurry up already.
"Sam…. Please….. Help me…." she gasped. The demon on the other hand was laughing past her gag and no longer struggling. She knew that Sara was losing her battle and they were running out of time. Sam sat straight up and took the tape off of Sara's mouth and just as the essence was saying it was too late, Prue sent the hunting knife plunging deep into Sara's chest. Sara's face was a state of shock, blood trickled from her mouth and her eyes frosted over as her head fell forward.
"SARA!" Sam and Dean Yelled in unison as the scene unfolded before them.
The essence emerged as smoke from Sara's mouth and nose, similar to the demons that Sam and Dean were used to. As it emerged it was pulled towards the green bottle and absorbed into it. Prue fastened the lid and passed it to Leo to dispose of. He nodded and orbed out. The alchemist then stepped forward with Paige and cast his spell to resurrect Sara. She gasped as she woke up to a gaping wound in her chest. She searched the room for Sam and Dean, tears rolling down her face. Paige was sitting beside her reaching out to heal her. Her hands glowed bright white and the wound healed and the mess disappeared and Sara realized what her premonition meant.
She had seen herself dying so that she could be saved. She overreacted and it put her and everyone she cared about in danger. She had to be more careful from now on. She looked up at Sam and gave a weak smile while reaching up for an embrace. He didn't hesitate and he leaned down to hold her. Dean sat at the foot of the bed and rested his hand on her ankle.
"Sara, don't ever do that ever again… Seriously… Not cool…" Dean said to her in an exhausted manner.
Sara didn't even argue. She nodded in response and looked over at the sisters.
"I'm sorry I took off… I had a premonition and it scared me… I am okay now though…" Sara said to Prue and Paige.
"It's okay, we all make mistakes sometimes. It's how we fix our mistakes that matters." Prue replied to Sara.
"She's right, and I should know something about that. I ran away when I found out I was a charmed one and it almost got me killed. So I get where you were coming from." Said paige.
"Well How about nobody makes any more life threatening mistakes? I would appreciate that." Bobby threw in at last and Sara chuckled. All that really mattered was that Sara was safe and the essence was disposed of. Now they can worry about the real mission at hand. Stopping the apocalypse.
