Later that day, Apple and Briar were in Wooing 101.
"Miss. White, are you feeling alright?" asked Professor Knight as he noticed the board expression on her face.
"I feel fine," said Apple.
"It's just that you haven't reacted like you normally do to any of the poems today," said Professor Knight.
"Let me try," said Daring as he confidently walked over to Apple.
"Apple White, your hair shines like gold, eyes a bright blue that…," said Daring, but he stopped when Apple yawned out of boredom. The whole room went quiet while staring at her with dropped jaws.
"Alright, Miss. White, seeing how you're not interested in this you can leave," said Professor Knight. Apple just got up and started to leave without a word.
"May I leave too, sir?" asked Briar with an expression that told him that she would talk with Apple.
"Alright," said Professor Knight. Briar then hurried after Apple, and once she had caught up, Briar pulled her into an empty classroom.
"Whoa, what are you doing?" asked Apple.
"We need to talk, now," said Briar as she closed the door, but it was broken and opened back up by just a crack.
"I want to know what happened in one night to change everything you believe in," said Briar.
"I realized that no destiny is fully good," said Apple.
"What do you mean?" asked Briar.
"If you go through with your destiny then you will wake up without any of your friends," said Apple.
"Ginger would have to use her cooking for evil, Humphrey will get seriously hurt," she said while starting to cry.
"Okay, I see what you mean," said Briar as she hugged her.
"The worst thing though is that I'll lose the one I actually love," said Apple, shocking Briar.
