Craziness

Jackie was upstairs changing Nora's diaper. Jingles was laying next to her on the floor chewing on something.

"What are you chewing up now, Jingles?" Jackie asked.

She looked closer and realized it was one of the puppy's many chew toys.

"That's a good boy." Jackie praised the tiny four-legged stinker.

"Mama?" Jackie heard Boone calling her from downstairs.

"I'm upstairs changing your baby sister sweetheart, I'll be down in a minute." Jackie called back.

"Me let the puppy dog inside." He informed her.

"Ok, that was….." Jackie didn't finish the sentence.

Boone had not let Jingles in the house because Jingles had been by Jackie the entire time Jackie had been upstairs with Nora.

"Boone, you mean you let Dolly into the house, right?" She asked.

"No, the puppy dog." Boone insisted.

"Oh, no." Jackie muttered.

Jackie immediately scooped up Nora and bolted out of the room, scared of what she would find downstairs.

Downstairs in the middle of the kitchen stood Louie, their neighbor's very cute and very tiny yorkie puppy.

"Boone, that's not Jingles." Jackie told him.

"Me know, Mama." He replied.

"If you knew that, why did you let him in the house?" Jackie asked, as she took a deep breath so she wouldn't blow a gasket.

"Because him was by the door and him was cryin' to get in." The child answered as he nodded towards the sliding glass back door.

"How can I get mad at that answer?" Jackie thought to herself.

Instead of getting angry she sighed.

"Kids, get your shoes on, we have to take Louie home."

Jackie tried to reach out and gently grab Louie but the tiny puppy bolted away from her. She tried again with the same result. She knew she'd never catch him while still holding onto Nora so she went into the living room and set Nora in her swing and then dragged the entire swing into the kitchen so Nora could be with everyone else.

It took Jackie nearly a half hour to scoop up the puppy. The kids giggled like crazy as Jackie chased him around the room. Jackie did not giggle.

After she had finally caught him, she went and grabbed Nora out of her swing which was a challenge because there was no way in God's green earth she was putting the puppy down so he could run away again.

When she finally had both the baby and the dog in her arms she opened the front door and led the way down the front porch steps with all the rest of the children trailing behind her.

Nick was just getting out of his truck with his field kit in his hand as Jackie was headed down the front steps.

Even with his sunglasses on Jackie could see his eyebrows raise.

I wonder what he's thinking, I'm sure we are quite the spectacle. Jackie thought to herself.

"I'm so glad you're home." She told him as she made her way over to him.

"Tough morning?" He asked.

"Nope, just another day in crazy-ville." She responded.

He looked from Nora to Louie and then at Jackie.

"Could you please take Louie home? I'll explain later." She mumbled as she handed him the puppy.

Nick threw his field kit back in his truck and then headed across the street to where Louie lived.

While Nick was taking Louie home Jackie took all the kids back inside.

You just never knew what could go on when you had children!

The End!
