Hello, Everyone! I was working on other fanfictions when this idea popped up. I wanted this to be a one-shot but it became quite long so I would be uploading the parts in chapters.
"Tadaima"
Sakura stepped in the dark hallway that leads to the inner of her house.
"Oh! Sarada didn't return." She was a bit disheartened when she didn't sense her daughter's chakra. After long shifts at the hospital, the presence of whom she yearns to feel.
Her little daughter was on a mission with her squad 7. Thinking about it made Sakura proud but a mother's heart was always swept by anxieties. Holding the reins of her perturbed heart, she switched on the lights. All she could see a deserted living room. Her heart twitches a little to feel the absence of her family. Her little family. It's not the first time in all these years, that she has been greeted by furniture and empty rooms but she felt tears pricking at the end of eyes for the reason she couldn't comprehend.
Although she couldn't accompany them, she believes that her conscience always travels with her husband and her motherly affection protects her daughter.
Life wouldn't be easy for her she knew when she bore the Uchiha crest between her shoulder blades, but she always believed in love and endurance. The same aspects which held her family firm from tearing apart due to many vulnerabilities.
They love because they endure. They endure because they love.
Looking at the picture of the family, a faint smile crept on her face.
Keeping her thoughts aside, she decided to cook something for herself and her daughter. The sharp sound of chopping vegetables on the board distracted her mind from her emotional vortex drifting it to fall over her duties. After all, she is also a figure to whom people of her village were dependent.
She heard the knob of door turn anticipating to hear her daughter's jovial voice.
"Tadaima"
"Huh?" She raised her green eyes from the chopping board on picking a deep and low pitched voice and eventually being greeted by her tall and handsome husband walking inside.
Sakura's heart still flutters on the sight of her husband. Her calm composure wrecked by her fangirling inner who still drools on catching a glimpse of his onyx eye. Getting a hold of her naive inner self she let words out of her lips that were tingling to kiss her husband.
"Okaerinasai, Sasuke Kun!" Sakura's voice ringed through his ear which is always blissful for him.
"Your mission ended early?" Raising an eyebrow as she gets back to chop vegetables.
She was anticipating his return as Sasuke's hawk carried her a letter notifying he would be back within a week.
Sasuke knew her wife's mastery of analyzing situations making him always comfortable by being saved by explanations. He just simply nodded as he took his cloak off.
Sakura smiled brightly and said "Perfect. Just wait I will be finishing dinner soon." moving towards the stove to stir miso soup.
As if someone listened to Sasuke's wish. That's what he exactly yearn to see. Her wide grin with her cherry blossom hair strands flitting over her cheeks.
He let a small sigh of relief out and proceeded towards her asking "Where's Sarada ?"
"Umm. She would be back I guess. That's what she told me that her mission would end early today. But maybe she is late due to some unavoidable reasons." Sakura said waving her free hand in the air gesturing she is not worrying about the matter while her other hand stirred the deliciously brewing miso soup.
Hell yeah, she is worrying!
Sasuke chuckled on her wife's awful hiding skills. After all, in these changing times, that's a thing that hasn't changed about her!
"Hn, why are you tensed then?" He said while he swiftly moved to face her back.
"Tensed? What are you talking about, Sa-suke Kun?" Sakura jerked a little when she felt his finger brushing her pink strands from the side of her neck as the popping sound of miso soup boiling filled their space.
"Your eyes don't co-operate with your lies. You are a terrible liar, Sakura" he nudged his nose lightly on her skin finally burying his face on the junction of her neck and shoulder.
Both humiliated and loved at the same time. That's what her husband is good at and always leaving her cheeks painted with a hue of red.
Sakura felt his hot breaths tickling on her skin giving her goosebumps all over her body while Sasuke was engrossed by her smell which assured him he has a home now.
His lone hand gently wrapped her belly sneaking inside her apron, fingers creating a circle on her exposed navel. He didn't fail to notice how her breath hitched as his finger pads brushed on her soft skin.
Cold fingers that shot lightning sparks and hot breaths that exhale fire. Sakura always loved these sensations over her body. Just like, he was awarding her now.
"Anata, you should eat. You must be tired." Sakura said shakily, her breaths shallow as she starts to collect the pieces of the ardent nature of being a wife prioritizing to attend her tiring husband rather than her bodily needs.
"Hn" his voice vibrated through her flesh placing a kiss in the crook of her neck as he reciprocates that their needs are the same. Sasuke pulled her gently as her back collided with his chest. The nimble back of hers fitting perfectly with his well-chiseled chest.
Suddenly a strange sound broke their momentum as Sakura's hand went flying up to slap her face. Well, yes now humiliated by herself! It was unusual for raven hair shinobi to laugh. Flicking his fingers to his wife's forehead with little force he said sarcastically "Hn. You too."
Sakura saw him retrieving his hands to pocket as he moved gracefully towards the dining table. Sakura regretted the loss of warmth but the thought of eating together alone compensated for the loss.
One by one she placed the bowls on table finally gathering the chopsticks on fingers as in unison they said "Itadikamasu"
Both relieved to hear their voice together although they missed their daughter's voice mingling with theirs.
"Ne Sasuke Kun, do you remember the time when we both traveled together? Eating in front of the campfire and lying on ground starring at open skies." Sakura dreamily wavers to the places that were reminiscent of the past with a smile gracing on her face.
"Aah" Sasuke was again mesmerized seeing her profile. This silly woman has grown on her.
"Sometimes I miss them. I wish we could do all those again." Sakura innocently said looking in those mismatched eyes.
The curl of Sasuke's lip turned into a smirk.
Sakura squinted her eyes in suspicion. She knew what he was thinking!
"Sasuke kun, you..." Sakura snapped.
"What?" Sasuke scoffed.
"I know what are you thinking, you perv!" Sakura accusingly said swaying her chopsticks in the air.
Sasuke chuckled as he exclaimed "Hn. You are thinking the same, Sakura."
"No, no no..." She shook her head. "I - you - I mean - No .." her words stumbled to the search of an answer.
"Okay fine" Sakura giggled her cheeks painting red again as Sasuke just looked at her to appreciate how beautiful she is. The woman who is only for him to claim as his own.
Sakura wanted to clean the dishes after dinner but the intense look on Sasuke's eyes made her ditch the dishes to attend her husband. So instead she came and sat beside him on the couch as she placed her hands to his shoulders. He flinched at her touch. Sensing he might have hurt himself during the mission, she enveloped her hand with green healing chakra. Sasuke's shoulder relaxed when the warm chakra seeped through his skin giving back a grateful smile to her.
Sakura's hand trailed from his neck brushing his jawline to reach his cheek. Sasuke looked at her eyes anticipating her move. Finally, their lips met. Pecking and nibbling as Sasuke's hand sneaked to his back bringing her closer to him. Sakura threw her hands behind his neck and played with her dark locks sealing their union tightly. Sasuke bit her lower lip to make her moan and used it as an opportunity to invade her cavity. Both of their tounges moving in synchronization that churned a sensation in their underbellies. The sensation that they miss on regular basis. They pulled back gasping for air. They smiled like silly teenagers that have fallen in love recently. A similar experience when they were becoming habituated with exploring each other bodies during their early days of traveling together.
Sasuke slipped from her grip creating a little space between them. Sakura furrowed her brows on his action. Sasuke sighed and lazily leaned his body towards her finally letting his head fall on her lap. Sakura blushed on his gesture as she entangled his dark locks with her fingers as she rubbed his scalp applying little pressure.
"I miss this too." He said with a little sadness in his voice as he shut his eyelids in the content of reliving the moment.
Green orbs that were a mixture of nostalgia and dejection cast down to her lover. She always found it enticing how her fingers get lost in his dark silky locks.
They have grown long. Have to cut them tomorrow. She took a mental note.
Her finger trailed from his dark hair to the side of his face marking out differences from when he was young. Although he has wrinkles now, his sharp features are till persistent, enough to catch someone off guard. She pinched lightly one of his cheeks earning a scrunched face from him and she giggled on his response. Sakura too had missed this.
The only uninterrupted time she spent with her beloved was years long before. The travels that have let them explore each other emotionally also. When nights were cold they snuggled in each other's arms until she slept over Sasuke's shoulder and during summer nights, Sasuke resting over her lap stargazing until he dozed off to sleep. The wanderings through the woods created heartwarming moments and hitting an inn created some heated and passionate moments. Every one of them embedded in her mind that she never wants to part away with.
