Note: Thank you all for reading, commenting, and favoriting this piece. After October... I will be no longer writing for the MLB fandom. I will be focusing full time on my novels. I will still be around. I have more works on AO3 under this name. I have a Tumblr under MinetteEnfers. I'll still be around. Just no longer writing for a fandom. haha It's been a good almost 5 years now! I love Adrien and Marinette and will always love them. I'm just tired and need to move on to other things. :) Anyway, enjoy and I hope you all enjoy reading each fanfic come to a close. Here is this one. ^-^
It had been two weeks since Adrien had been given shock therapy. Two weeks of complete hell, but Nurse Bustier was back. Marinette sat on the toilet with the plastic specimen cup in her hand that Nurse Bustier had slipped her. Adrien leaned against the sink with his thumb nail between his teeth and an arm over his chest.
"Are you okay?" Nurse Bustier had told the bathroom attendant that he could have a much needed break.
"Yeah. I'm just nervous." Marinette cleared her throat as she twisted the dark green lid, breaking the seal.
"It'll be okay, Marinette. I promise." Adrien took his thumb from his mouth and crossed both arms.
"Adrien's right, sweety." Nurse Bustier smiled over at Adrien.
Marinette took a deep breath and used the specimen cup. She closed the lid and stood up to flush the toilet. She walked out with the cup and set it down on the sink. Nurse Bustier took it from the sink and Adrien wrapped an arm around Marinette after she washed her hands.
"It's going to be okay. I said I would be by your side through this and if you are pregnant? We'll get through this." Adrien smiled and touched her chin, bringing her worried face to face his. "Promise." He leaned in and kissed her.
Nurse Bustier opened the cup and took a test strip out. "You two ready?"
Adrien nodded and brought Marinette in front of him, holding her in his arms with her back against his body. "Ready, Marinette?"
Marinette nodded and watched Nurse Bustier stick the thin testing strip into the sample. Her heart raced in her chest and Adrien leaned forward to kiss her cheek, as they waited.
"And…" Nurse Bustier pulled the strip out and read it. "Negative."
Marinette relaxed and fell against Adrien. She felt like crying. She was relieved, yet also strangely sad. She had gotten slightly used to the idea of possibly being pregnant. Thought about names and moving in with Adrien once they were out of there. Now it felt like her future was crashing down on her, even though it wasn't. She felt like she was mourning a baby that was never there to begin with.
"One day. One day we'll have kids. When the time is better. Okay?" Adrien whispered against her ear, feeling her slightly shake.
Marinette nodded as Nurse Bustier cleaned up and took them back to their room. She left them alone and Marinette laid in her bed on her side, as Adrien crawled over her to lay down behind her.
"Are you sad?" Adrien whispered, running his fingers through her hair. "You wanted this baby, didn't you?"
Marinette nodded and sniffed as she brought her knees up to her chest.
"You know… one day? You'll have beautiful children and they'll have a gorgeous garden to play in. You can make them outfits and we'll have a dog, a cat, and a hamster. I'll give you a lovely home and we'll be safe. It'll be our little oasis and I will make love to you every day and spoil you until you can't handle it anymore." Adrien brushed his nose in her hair and held her tight. "One day, it'll get better and we will have everything we ever dreamed of and more. I promise."
Marinette suddenly turned to face him, wrapped an arm around him, and began to sob into his chest. Adrien kissed the top of her head and ran his hand along her spine. "I'm so sorry, baby. But you know this wouldn't be the best time."
She nodded and gripped his shirt in her fists as she broke down against him.
Adrien continued to brush his fingers along her spine until he felt her breathing steady. He closed his eyes and fell asleep with her in his arms.

Adrien woke up to commotion in the facility. The sound of arguing and fighting echoed through the door, and he quickly climbed over Marinette to open the door and look out at what was happening. Nurse Mendaleive was fighting two cops that had her in handcuffs. They were dragging her out and Adrien's gaze looked over at a detective that was standing next to her partner, taking notes from Nurse Bustier and Dr. Fu. He had no idea what was going on, but the sight of his father and Nathalie made him duck back into his room in a panic.
"Marinette?" Adrien rushed over to his girlfriend and shook her awake. "Marinette?"
"Hm?" Marinette moaned as she slowly opened her eyes to find a panicking Adrien.
"I don't know what's happening. My father and his assistant are here. Mendaleive was in handcuffs and being taken by two cops. Bustier is being questioned with Fu. What is happ-" Their door burst open, interrupting Adrien's words. He peered up like a scared fawn only to see Tom and Sabine.
"Marinette? Adrien?" Sabine calmly walked into the room and Marinette sat up while rubbing her eyes.
"What is it?" Marinette stared at her parents.
"The hospital is being shut down for malpractice, dear." Tom stepped in and Adrien's lips parted in shock.
"Everyone is being let go because they're forcing the facility to shut down." Sabine sat down beside her.
Marinette jumped up and took Adrien's hand. "I won't leave him."
"Sweetheart, he has his own family to go back to. They're right out there." Sabine gestured out the door.
Marinette shook her head. "Then we're finding our own place. I won't let him go back there with them. They're not good."
Sabine peered up at Tom with a concerned expression. "I don't think we can easily ask Monsieur Agreste to let his son live with us." Tom sighed and crossed his arms.
"What if I ask?" Adrien spoke up and Marinette began to argue with him. "Sh. It's okay. I'm ready to end this."
Marinette watched Adrien kiss the back of her hand and walk out of the room. "Maman, Papa… He's gonna end up hurt. Help him. Please."
Sabine looked at Tom and he nodded before he left to talk to Gabriel and Nathalie.
"But father, I love her." Adrien begged and pleaded with his father and Nathalie, flashing his glance back and forth between them.
"If I may interject." Tom walked up to them with a warm smile. "There is always room for one more at the bakery. He can continue to do his modeling and extracurriculars and we have an extra room. We would be more than happy to have him at our home until he saves up to purchase an apartment."
"Father, I have enough to get an apartment saved up. I can support myself and Marinette. Just let me have this one thing. Please." Adrien peered up at his father with his hands placed together. "Please. Give me this one thing."
Gabriel sighed and nodded. "Fine, but you have to continue with your extracurriculars and your modeling. You miss one obligation and I will have you back under my roof. Now, go before I change my mind." He shooed his son away and his eyes went wide when Adrien ran into him and wrapped his arms around his waist.
"Thank you, father, for giving me this one thing." Adrien warmly smiled and let his father go to run back to Marinette.
"He's a good man." Tom nodded and held his hand out to shake Gabriel's. "You've raised a good man."
"Thank you. I try since my late wife isn't around anymore. It's hard. Being a parent. You think you do your best, but it never feels like you accomplish that." Gabriel shook Tom's hand.
"Well, the most we can do is try to raise outstanding adults. Good adults that do the right thing, are strong, and know to love themselves and others. Raise kids that will fix our mistakes by learning from them and not passing it on to the next generation." Tom winked at Gabriel and watched the older man smile.
"You're absolutely right. Perhaps I've been too hard on Adrien." Gabriel sighed and watched Tom nod.
"Have to let them grow up sometime and your son? He's an outstanding individual that I am proud to have beside my daughter." Tom smiled and walked away to help Marinette, Adrien, and Sabine pack up their room.

Adrien tossed and turned in their bed, mumbling and whimpering in his sleep. Marinette woke up, peered over at him, and chewed on her bottom lip. She gently brushed her fingers along his cheek and through his hair. He flinched and suddenly woke up, panting, and panicking.
Adrien clung to her and buried his face into her chest as she held him. "It's okay. You're in my room. The hospital is gone and we're no longer there."
"I'm so sick of these night terrors. I haven't slept in ages. I keep thinking I'm going to be strapped to that bed or drugged up with some new thing or-" Adrien began to pour his feelings out into her chest, and she touched his chin and brought his gaze up to hers.
"We're never going back there. Promise. You're safe. We're safe." Marinette warmly smiled and leaned down to kiss his forehead. "And in a few days we'll be in our new apartment. We're almost done packing."
Adrien nodded and sighed as he rolled onto his back and drew a knee up. "I can not wait to get into our own place and finally start living a normal life."
"Me either." Marinette took his hand and placed it on her stomach. "And I can't wait to marry you and have that life you promised us."
"One day there will be a little one with us and I can't wait to see them." Adrien slid his hand along her side and scooted closer to kiss her.
"I can't wait either. You're going to be an amazing daddy." Marinette sighed and got lost in his kiss.
