Chapter 4
Failed Recruit Attempt
Mephisto
Mephisto waited for the angel and Praxina to wake up.
For once! he thought. Let's just recruit!
He wasn't good at waiting, but he had duties to get to.
Praxina rolled over, and woke up.
"Mephisto!" she scolded.
"Look, Praxina," Mephisto said. "We've got work to do! And I swear, if that angel showed up again-"
He stopped himself.
"Angel? Who are you talking about. Here?" Praxina snapped.
Mephisto recoiled. "Prax, whose side are you on?" he asked, feeling a little hurt.
"Sorry," said Praxina.
"And no, I do not mean here. I met an angel who tried to attack me, in a cavern. Then he appeared with the Princesses!" said Mephisto.
"Calm down!" said Praxina. "We've got other things to deal with."
"Like this angel?" he asked. "He's still sleeping."
"What's taking him so long?" she asked.
Suddenly, the angel woke up.
"What…." he mumbled.
Mephisto waited nervously.
The angel looked up, then glanced at Mephisto and Praxina.
"Who are you two?" he asked.
"I'm Mephisto, and this is my twin sister, Praxina," replied Mephisto. "Maybe you've heard of us. We're Black Crystal Casters."
The angel frowned. "That doesn't ring any bells."
"Well, who are you?" asked Praxina.
"I'm…"
Praxina glanced at Mephisto with a help look. Maybe the spell didn't take effect, and took away the angel's memory instead.
Just then, eight people showed up. They glanced at the angel with wide eyes.
Praxina glared at Mephisto. "You were distracted, you fool! The spell backfired. He doesn't even remember who he is now!"
"It's not my fault!"
"Is too!"
"It is so not!"
They were so busy arguing, that they didn't even notice the activity going on, and when they had gotten out of their arguing ways, the angel was back with the group. The Princesses and their new allies.
"You distracted me that time!" snapped Mephisto.
"Crystal Levitus!"
Instantly, the two were lifted into the air. They looked over to see that Lyna, the Princess of Borealis, had used a spell to levitate them.
"Still arguing," said Talia, the Princess of Xerius.
"Unfortunately for you, that gave us just enough time to reverse that memory loss spell that was a backfired evil spell and help Dark Pit!" said a girl nearby. She had blond hair that was put up in a ponytail to the side, a red, pink, and purple dress with vines, and a staff of wood. She glared at the Mephisto and Praxina.
"WHO?" both twins said at the same time.
The girl glared. "Does it look like it matters right now?"
"Step aside!" said Talia. "We've got this. Lyna, Carissa, we won't be don't Crystal Quinta this time.
"No problem!" said Lyna. "Keep them in the air?"
Talia nodded, and she and her friends (Iris, the Princess of Ephedia; and Auriana, the Princess of Volta) stepped forward
*Time skip time*
Mephisto shivered in shock, as the nine left. But before leaving, the girl that had spoken to them before turned around and gave them a cold, hostile, stare.
"I'll be watching you," she said coldly.
Then, she took off.
Praxina glanced at Mephisto. "Well, what have we learned today, brother?"
"Never get distracted on a spell. Again!" he replied.
As he looked out the entrance, he had to remember that lesson. He shared a glance with Praxina, and knew she was thinking the same thing.
The two looked out, side by side, at the sunny day, outside their cave.
A/N: Whew! The goddess of nature has just gotten mad at the twins. It's possible that she will send a spy to watch the two. Who knows?
Well, Iris, Auriana, Talia, Carissa, Lyna, Palutena, Pit, and Viridi were wrong about Dark Pit turning evil. He had just lost his memory.
At least it was just that, but that's still bad. Thanks a lot Mephisto.
