In a strange chamber, bright lights bounced and curved around a single blue human figure. They floated still with their legs crossed, and stared at what could possibly explain to him what he was experiencing.
The familiar face of Jaune eased them somewhat, but his appearance confused them: He was all blue; blue skin, hair, eyes, and even a full body suit. On his forehead, for some strange reason, the Hydrogen symbol sat, burned into his flesh.
"Woah! He kind of looks like a superhero." Summer pointed out. Ruby took a good look at him and quickly saw it too.
"Oh yeah! He looks weird though."
"And somewhat familiar..." Ozpin looked closely at his forehead. He could've swron seeing him, or at least some sort of form similar to him.
In his hands was a comic book, Ultra Comics, with a superhero on the front pointing at the reader.
"-On pages 12 and 13, I caught sight of a massless time-symetrical boson. A Möbius loop curving through eight dinentions." He glanced another page. "I heard something knocking on the door to get in-"
He was suddenly cut of as the camera cut to an observation room. Several scientists sat and monitored the chamber and its occupant.
A green haired man spoke into a microphone. "Ah, Captain. This is Doctor Oobleck in the control room. Can you put away the comic book, please?"
"Professor Oobleck?"
"DOCTOR!! DOCTOR Ooblekc!" A familiar voice shouted near by. In an instant, and out of thin air, two familiar people appeared before them.
"I did NOT earn that title to let it be ignored!" The wild haired man said, pausing only to take a large drink from his thermos.
"Err, could anyone explain what just happened? And why we are here?" Asked Port as he attempted to gather himself.
One quick explination later, and both professors found themselves sitting comfortably. Oobleck being a man of science couldn't help but examine the Jaune on screen.
"The Hydrogen symbol seems to be something he respects. Or, at the very least, understands far more than anyone, given his new form."
"That's quite the observation, Bart." Said Ozpin. "What do you think he could do now?"
"We won't know until he acts."
Through the intercom, Jaune's voice was heard. "I'm thinking how our universe appears from a higher dimentional perspective; flat."
Professor Port suddenly appeared as well, wiping his forehead clean of sweat, with an irritated look on his face. "Captain- please concentrate. We're commencing particle acceleration, are you ready?"
Jaune continued to muse, ignoring the men in the other room. "Complete yet always begining and ending. Always different. The story is linear, but I can flip through the pages in any order. Any direction; forward in time to the conclusion, back to the begining"
"The characters remain unaware of my scrutiny. But their thoughts are transparent, weightless in little clouds." His posture shifted. "This is how a 2-dimentional medium looks to you."
Weiss found herself genuinely impressed by his observation. "I think I might have the wrong idea about Jaune's reading habits."
The camera moved to face him fully, and suddenly he raised his head, and looked ahead. Something in his eyes felt off.
A small grin formed on his face. "Imagine how your 3-D world looks to me."
Eyes went wide and they stared at the blue figure, who winked at them.
"He can see us..." Sun muttered, completely in awe. Neptune, who's mouth was hanging from shock, spoke up.
"That's so cool..."
"And kinda creepy." Said Yang, still staring at her friend through the screen.
"Your back pages and future continue. I know your origins. The secret identities you hide, even from your loved ones." His eyes seemed to subdue themselves back to his own world. "I can read your thought balloons. I know what you're planning."
In the other room, Oobleck jumped into action. "Now!"
Port quickly pressed down on a small red button, activating the machine. In an instant, Jaune was gone. All that was left was his burning comic, and nothing else.
"Wh-what just happened?" Asked Summer. Port put a hand to his chin and thought for a moment.
"I don't think we had good intentions with this experiment." He sighed "We might have just killed Mr. Arc."
"Wh-what?"
The scene suddenly shifted to that of a blue sky, with metal and concrete slowly taking form in the middle of the frame. the camera pulled back slowly, revealing Jaune. alive and well.
"What!?"
"Fearless leader's alive!" Nora cheered, drying the tears that began forming in her eyes. Ren sighed in relief as he watched, glad to see that his friend was well.
"Hmm, If i were to guess, I'd say he must be able to reconstruct himself from the smallest particles with a mere thought!" Said Oobleck. Ozpin hummed and took a sip from his mug.
He stared blankly ahead at his work, imagining and creating everything from its simple stone work, to the smallest chips that couldn't be seen by others.
"He's requested to be kept sedated. His powers are contained at a threshold level?" Jaune blinked and glanced behind.
"What? Sorry, I'm in the future-" He was suddenly sitting on a bench in a park. He murmured to himself. "-No. I got that wrong. It's now. The future is somewhere else. Did somebody speak?"
In his hands, beneath the head of a familiar Corgi, sat his comic book, fresh and still in its plastic wrapping. He watched several people walk by him, not bothering to glance at him while he watched.
He sighed and leaned back, letting his hands run though the small dog's fur. He could figure this out in time. The screen went black."Incredible! He can exist in different stages of time! It's almost as if he doesn't necessarily require a body! His consciousness would suffice!" Qrow looked over at them.
"But do you think he'd be ready for that? From the looks of it he's still figuring it out." He took a sip from his flask. "It's kinda scary though if you think about it."
A few nodded, having been paying attention to the conversation.
"I'm still trying to figure out what scene took place when." Said Sumner while rubbing her forehead. "That felt so confusing."
"Tell me about it." Said Tai. "I don't think I'll ever be ready for anything else like that."
As he finished saying that, the screen lit up with only one thing on it A white skull.
