pika318: For this chapter, this is an AU where Lucifer never manages to leave the Demon Fortress until Satan gets to it in the events of Volume 0-II (as to how he manages to get his other Demon Generals without Lucifer in the story, I don't know lol, this was just a random thought which came out of nowhere) She's more innocent here and curious about the outside, and in the end, Satan and her fell in love. She can fight, but was never made a Demon General (he preferred to call her the Guardian of the Demon Fortress). So when Emi and the others attacked the Demon Fortress and Satan lost, she was the one who opened the Gate and forcefully sent Satan and Alsiel to Japan. She could not follow them because one of the human attacks caused her to be badly injured and pinned under rubble (she lost the use of her legs after). Satan and her were only reunited after the events of Volume 10.

One shot: Forceful Separation

Lucifer knew that this day would come when reports after reports arrived about the deaths of their Demon Generals in each Continent.

Treldoth in the Western Continent had been first, followed by Adramelech in the North and Malacoda in the South. Alsiel in the Eastern Continent would have joined them, if Satan had not intervened at the last minute, not wanting to lose his last Demon General who he also saw as his replacement.

Then they finally received news that the Hero's company was heading to the Central Continent to finish them once and for all.

Satan had wanted her to stay deep in the Demon Fortress. 'Somewhere safe' he said, but in her defense, nowhere was safe anymore.

Which led to this, trapped under the rubble, wings crushed against her back such that she could not fly, too injured to use magic properly and…

She could not feel her legs anymore.

"Lucifer!" Satan shouted, clearly distressed. But this distraction cost him.

With a flash, the Hero, Emilia Justina rushed past him with a sword, and even if Satan avoided a blow to the vital parts of his body, there was a clatter as one of his horns fell to the stone floor.

He spun around, ready for her next attack, wary of her companions whom he knew Alsiel was holding back somehow all by himself.

Behind Emilia lay Lucifer, trapped under all that rubble. Part of him wanted to ignore the Hero and run to her side, but he knew that such an action was likely to get him killed.

And Lucifer would never forgive him, never forgive herself, if he died in front of her.

If you do nothing though, she's going to die in front of you, then what?

With a snarl, he rushed towards Emilia, determined to end the battle with his victory.

Being strangely alert despite the heavy weight of the rubble on her, Lucifer knew from the fight that Satan and Alsiel were clearly outnumbered. One side was going to lose sooner or later.

As much as she loved Satan, she did not think that he and Alsiel would win.

And she also knew Satan would never leave while she was here.

So she made her decision.

Satan might hate her for this afterwards, but if he could live, she could live with the decision.

If she was still alive after all this.

Shaking her head slightly to clear the negative thoughts from her head, she waited.

And as expected, Alsiel had rushed to his king's side, focused on defending his liege from further attacks by the Hero and her companions.

It was now or never.

The space behind Satan and Alsiel cracked open, the magic signs making it clear that it was a Gate.

"Wha…!" Satan gasped in surprise. Beside him, Alsiel reacted the same way.

The next instant, they were being sucked into the Gate.

In that short moment before the Gate closed, Satan knew very well that neither Emilia Justina or any of her companions had opened the Gate. The last thing they wanted was for their enemy to run away. Also, all of looked shocked at the sudden development.

Then his line of sight strayed over to where Lucifer was, and he saw the unmistakable signs of demonic magic being cast.

Then he heard it in his mind. The last thing he would hear from Lucifer.

I love you.

"Lucifer, no…!"

His shout went unheard as the Gate closed. Distraught as they were, neither he nor Alsiel noticed the Hero jumping into the Gate at the last moment.

As the Gate closed, Lucifer finally let herself relax, which only caused her more pain.

She had seen the Hero jump into the Gate, but it was only her. Satan and Alsiel would be able to handle one person.

The companions of the Hero finally turned to her, but she no longer cared what happened to her.

Her vision darkened as she lost consciousness. And for once, she welcomed the cold embrace of darkness.
