Chapter 8

A Fierce Battle

Dark Pit

Dark Pit was already tired of the twins.

But apparently, they'd been planning a big surprise, because a bunch of crystal monsters arrived.

Talia looked annoyed. "We didn't know about this! Let's move!"

Pit, Dark Pit, Viridi, Palutena, and Lyna all flew, while the others ran on the ground.

"There!" yelled Pit, over the wind.

"Let's go!" yelled Dark Pit.

The twins were up above.

"Well, if it wasn't for those Princesses, and their allies!" said Praxina.

"And especially that dark angel!" said Mephisto. Then, so only Dark Pit could hear, he whispered, "Pittoo!"

Dark Pit recoiled. "Don't you dare call me that!"

Pit and Palutena looked at him in surprise.

"I wasn't talking to you," said Dark Pit.

"I know that Mephisto called you that, Dark Pit! I was close enough to hear!" said Lyna. "Mephisto, do not call him Pittoo!"

"Honestly, that dark angel stuff is even worse," said Viridi, with a huff. "I told you I'd keep an eye on you!"

"Why?"

"So that you wouldn't try to cause trouble for Dark Pit!"

Then, the battle started.

Dark Pit faced off against Mephisto.

"Poor angel!" the twin said. "On the wrong side, are ya?"

"No, I am not on the wrong side, and your fake sympathy doesn't fool me," said Dark Pit, his anger growing even more. "And do not call me Pittoo! I don't like that!"

"Come on!" said Mephisto.

Dark Pit sent two arrows, both of which Mephisto caught.

"Dark Pit! Over here!" yelled Pit.

Lyna flew over. "I'll handle Mephisto for now!" she said.

Dark Pit flew to Pit.

"Sending arrows from the front won't work. While Lyna's distracting Mephisto, get behind him."

"Fought the twin?"

"Yup."

"I'll try that," said Dark Pit.

He flew behind Mephisto, while Lyna was taunting the twin.

"Bet you can't catch me!" she said.

"I will!" said Mephisto.

Dark Pit aimed an arrow at Mephisto's back, while Pit, with his bow halves, silently glided over.

The arrow was released. Mephisto was stunned, and Pit hit the twin at the same time.

Lyna gave a thumbs up. "Nice work you two!"

*Let's have another time skip*

Everyone gathered at the path of Aunt Ellen's house.

"Phew!" said Viridi.

"I do hope they don't come back!" said Dark Pit.

"Even if they do, we're ready for them," said Talia.

Dark Pit nodded.

"We can do it!" he said.

Everyone cheered. Dark Pit smiled.
