Chapter 17

Payback

Izira

Izira was not exactly used to Viridi's anger.

But as she and the others waited in one of the tents of Xerius, where the Resistance stayed, she began to grow bored.

Palutena shifted in her chair uncomfortably. "I don't get what's taking them so long," she said.

Suddenly, Viridi and Dark Pit burst in. They both had some soot marks, and the goddess looked pretty angry.

Izira looked up. "Viridi, Dark Pit, what happened?"

"The twins happened!" snapped Viridi.

Everyone glanced at each other, and Lyna recoiled at the sound of Viridi's tone.

"Viridi, please settle down!" said Palutena.

"Yes, please," said Izira. "Nothing good will happen if you keep snapping like that."

Viridi and Dark Pit sat down, and explained what happened.

Afterwards, Talia brushed an angry tear from her face. "I-I can't believe it! Those awful twins!" she said.

"This must be avenged at once!" said Izira.

"No!" the others yelled at the same time.

"What's wrong with that?"

"Izira, who knows what could happen?" said Palutena.

"I wasn't saying I'd do it alone!"

Viridi sighed. "I appreciate your avenge offer, but I already scared the twins away."

"They'll come back," said Auriana.

Dark Pit nodded. "They will, Viridi! We must do it."

The group found the twins in Xerius.

"That was easy!" said Talia, summoning her Wand of Xerius.

Auriana summoned her Ribbon of Volta. "Now, the hard thing is getting rid of them!"

Viridi nodded. "That is definitely hard. And I don't want to send a Reset Bomb here!"

Everyone in Xerius stopped.

"They're not staring at you," Izira assured. "Resistance! Attack the twins!"

"Us, too?" asked Talia.

"Yes!"

After that, the battle was mayhem!

Izira summoned a wide wall of crystals that sent Mephisto and Praxina crashing to the ground. Pit and Palutena worked together to keep the twins down, while Viridi sent a vine that shot up from the ground, and curled around its downed captors.

Lyna used Crystal Levitus. "Do you think you could do a minor wall slamming, Auriana?"

"Sure thing!"

Izira took this as a cue. "You can release the twins from the vine now, Viridi. It looks like Auriana and Lyna have this next part covered."

Viridi waved her staff, and the vine vanished. The twins were suspended in the air, with a green glow.

Talia grinned. "I see what you mean. Auriana! Now!"

An orange ribbon wrapped around the twins. The glow stopped, and the ribbon sent the twins crashing into a wall.

Palutena grinned. "All right, what now?"

Dark Pit suddenly slid in, and the twins flew into the air.

"Electroshock Arm?" asked Palutena.

Dark Pit stopped, and started adjusting something. "Yeah, it was my best chance to take them out without coming from a distance."

Auriana ran up. "Crystal Quinta?"

"Go for it!"

*Time skip for after Crystal Quinta*

Everyone cheered, when the twins vanished.

"They're gone for now," said Palutena. "They'll come later though! But at least we got the payback they deserved."

Izira nodded, and everyone cheered once again.

She was proud, and happy.
