Chapter 19
Gramorr's Spirit
Praxina
Not too long after the incident at Xerius, Praxina was fuming over how the Princesses always beat them. Not because Mephisto was missing spells. That whole thing was over. It was just that their enemies were too fast.
As she replayed the Xerius battle in her head, she thought about the things that happened-the crystals Izira sent; the arrows and spells that kept the two down; the vine curling around them; the levitation spell Lyna used; the wall slam by Auriana; the "Electroshock Arm" that Palutena had mentioned as Dark Pit had attacked; and the Crystal Quinta.
All of those things kept Praxina and Mephisto from attacking even once. And what was a Reset Bomb?
Her brother came over, apparently still shaken up from all the things that had happened, sat down next to her.
"Prax?" he said.
She looked at him. "Still shaken up from the encounter?"
"Yeah. I actually felt like it was almost worthless to try to fight after the wall slam. It felt like I could barely fight."
"Me too!"
A familiar voice said behind them, "Mephisto! Praxina!"
The two turned around. There stood Gramorr.
Mephisto bowed. "Lord Gramorr!"
Gramorr chuckled. "I'm not actually hear, Mephisto. I am only a spirit."
Praxina bowed too. "It's still an honor to see you," she said.
"Rise!" said Gramorr.
The two rose.
Gramorr glanced at the two. "I have heard of your evil attacks. Well done! But there's a problem. You don't know what's going to happen. The Princesses and their allies attack without warning."
"We noticed," said Praxina.
"So," said Gramorr, "if you get thrown down, roll behind a bush to get up. If a vine gets you, use magic to crystalize and shatter it. If you almost end up in a wall slam, quickly twist to change direction. If that Electroshock Arm is coming, twist to the side, and look at where it's coming from. But DO NOT GIVE IN!"
His last sentence left a sharp, serious sensation in both twins.
"Good, good!" he said. "I have some things that you shouldn't do. Laying there and trying to get up won't help. If you don't crystalize and shatter the vine, it'll only make things worse. Slamming into a wall will only leave you shaken up. Not looking or twisting to the side will result in defeat of battle. And giving in will end the whole battle without warning."
"Yes, Lord Gramorr," said Praxina.
"As for Reset Bombs, I have one thing to tell you, you'll have to accept your fate if one falls. You cannot destroy or escape them. Not you two anyways."
"Got it."
"I will be leaving for now," said Gramorr. "Remember what I said."
He shimmered, and faded away.
Mephisto wiped a tear away.
Praxina put an arm around her brother. "At least Gramorr gave some advice," she said.
Mephisto smiled.
The two looked outside. Anything was possible.
A/N: Kinda sad at the end.
If you need to cry, because Gramorr vanished, have some tissues handy each time you read this.
Time to pop over to the next chapter. See you later.
