No Ones POV
Sedusa walked throughout the palace, her hips swaying from side to side as she confidently strutted through her home. Servants bowing as she walked by, her presence making the room even more still then before. She soaked up every ounce of it, the power she got coursed through her veins making her feel invincible. She walked throughout the corridors with purpose as she hustled to her destination. She sighed once she finally made it to her husband's office. She pushed the red double doors open, greeting her with the front desk, the desk where she sat. Sedusa rolled her eyes and mustered up the best fake smile she could,
"Well good morning Ms. Bellum." Ms. Bellum looked up from the computers and raised a brow. Inwardly she knew Sedusa didn't like her, the reason why she didn't have any girlfriends. Females were ultimately threatened by her. After all she was part siren and part mermaid, she was basically irresistible to men, so it never phased her the way she was treated by females. But it was something about Sedusa, that she really didn't like. She had the life that SHE wanted, she didn't deserve what she was given. Ms. Bellum wanted her place. But she learned to play her part,
"Good morning Sedusa…how was your trip?" Sedusa smirked,
"Mumbai was to die for…You should visit sometime." Ms. Bellum dry chuckled, inwardly cursing the woman.
"Well I'm glad your back…if your looking for HIM he hasn't returned to the office as yet…" Sedusa shook her head,
"Oh no need to worry hon. I just ran into him in the corridors. I think he missed me as much as I missed him, if you catch my drift." Ms. Bellum smiled, just for the simple fact she knew exactly what she was talking about.
"I bet he did." Sedusa faked a chuckle,
"Anyways you seem like a pretty busy woman so I don't want to take up anymore of your time, but I need you to plan a family vacation." Ms. Bellum rose a brow,
"I'm sorry did you say family vacation? As in…" Sedusa mustered up the dumbest look she could produce,
"Yes, family vacation…as in my husband and my kids." Ms. Bellum pressed her lips together, giving Sedusa a questionable look, which she didn't like.
"Is there a problem?"
"Did you speak to HIM about this?" Sedusa growled,
"Ms. Bellum….it is your understanding that you do work for me as, well right?" Ms. Bellum bit down on her tongue hard.
"It's not that Sedusa…it's just well…HIM's schedule alone is pretty tight…and I just wanted to make sure it was ok before I changed it around." Sedusa huffed,
"Not that it is any of your business, but I already explained to my husband what we will be doing." Ms. Bellum hesitated as she watched Sedusa try to take charge, she hated it.
"Have you spoken to the boys?" Sedusa scoffed,
"Why is it so hard for you to follow a simple instruction?" Ms. Bellum huffed,
"I need to make sure that EVERYONE is going and that everyone's schedule is matched. You may not think I do much, but I basically run the entire operation behind this family. Which means I have to handle 5 schedules not 1." Sedusa and Ms. Bellum were now eye to eye, neither breaking away to show a sign of submission. Sedusa narrowed her eyes,
"Are you saying that you need a new career choice? Because I have no problem letting you go." Ms. Bellum matched her gaze,
"HIM wouldn't let that happen…" Sedusa snarled,
"That's KING HIM to you, cut the formality and learn your place." It took everything in her power to not jump across her desk and choke the life out of Sedusa. She took in a deep breath and breathed out slowly,
"What would you like me to do your highness?" Sedusa smirked claiming the small victory she had received,
"Find a vacation spot for me and my family. Just my husband and the boys…alone. Some place tropical, with a nice beach and a view. Book it for a week." Ms. Bellum slowly sat down and began typing away on her computer. Sedusa stood there confused, not really understanding if she won the argument or not.
"I will start looking for places, but please confirm with the boys." Sedusa scoffed but didn't say a word as she exited the office. Waiting five minutes to make sure it was clear Ms. Bellum growled and took out her cellphone, she dialed HIM's private line, her breathing growing rougher and rougher by the ring.
"Hello?" She huffed once she heard his voice,
"What so you couldn't handle your wife, so you sick her on me?"
"Excuse me?" She groaned and grabbed her forehead.
"HIM…I just had the greatest conversation…with your wife." She heard HIM sigh over the phone.
"I told her I would talk to you…but she insisted on it." Ms. Bellum chuckled,
"I bet she did. SO, family vacation huh?" HIM chuckled
"She thinks it would help. If it keeps her happy and out of my hairs then why not. But only one week, we have work to do…" Ms. Bellum's stomach turned, she hated to admit it but she hated being his number two, she wanted to be his number one.
"So just the five of you?"
"Whoa, wait the five of us?" Ms. Bellum's small smile returned, she knew he wouldn't leave her,
"Yeah, Sedusa said find something for you, her and the boys." HIM scoffed,
"Yeah…no. You book for about 10-15 people. We have staff to bring…and if I'm going on this vacation I have work to do. I'll let her know." It wasn't the response she was looking for but she justified it,
"Alright well, I'll let you know what I find." HIM chuckled,
"Hey Sara?"
"Yeah?"
"How about next time you call me, you try not to bite my head off." Ms. Bellum blushed as he hung up. He was truly one to die for.
HIM sat on his throne as his generals began to drone on in front of him. Leaders of the different groups of monsters sat around him as they argued with each other. HIM looked at them with no emotion as they droned on. For some reason he seemed to be the only Monster that was powerful enough to calm the others down, he seemed to be the bridge between the peace. He watched as his sons sat beside him, quite intrigued with the conversation.
"Zombies belong over in the cemeteries! That is why they are in our jurisdiction. You centaurs need to learn to not use it as your stomping ground!" General Denryx snorted,
"General Zee you must understand, you built these cemeteries in the middle of land where centaurs use to roam free! There is going to be an uproar!"
"What's an uproar is that you monsters decide that the ocean is your personal usage! Atlantis can only thrive when everything is in order. The sea creatures and monsters that live down there don't need to be picking garbage out of their hair!" General Mira yelled. HIM rubbed his head together, right now he's got majority of his generals yelling back and forth at each other. HIM was about to speak, but he decided against it. Instead he turned in the direction of his children, all three turned there heads back towards him.
'Why don't you three take over?' HIM thought, all three rose a brow as their father began to communicate telepathically.
'Are you sure?' HIM shrugged with a smirk as he watched all three of his boys get up. Butch and Boomer took a spot on either side of Brick, as all three stood in front of the giant TV screens. Brick whistled as the entire room got quiet.
"Now there is no need for the bickering, soon enough you will have more territory then you'll know what to deal with. As for now…we will set a curfew. Centaurs aren't allowed to run through the graveyard after 11:30PM. If you must go through, you will be considerate, or there will be a penalty." Boomer chimed in right after,
"If you are caught polluting into the oceans, not only will there be a large fine, you will be subject to arrest. General Mira's men have the authority to arrest you and you will be brought before the high counsel." Butch immediately took over,
"As for the centaurs, if you go through the buildings and permit department, we can make sure that any available land can be given to you. Or better yet pick two of the vacant lots or buildings and pave over it, so you guys have a place to roam." Brick clapped his hands together,
"I'm pretty sure majority of you have these problems…We are an array of Monsters. We range from fairies to dragons and from frost giants to gnomes. We are a united nation…and when we learn to put the petty problems behind us, we will be unstoppable." Boomer started to circle the other generals,
"Land and sea, we can conquer the next phase. Taking over mutant territory…we are superior to them; we out number them in strength and in numbers…" Butch went the other way as he mimicked Boomer's actions
"Mutants are worthless compared to monsters; your overlord has a plan to make sure that mutants pale in comparison to us monsters. To send them back to the hovel they came from. But the key is to not only be silent and deadly, but we need to be unified." HIM smiled with such pride. He had raised his boys well, and here they were taking over a meeting. Better yet running one, and to all HIM's generals who he had hand selected, were sitting and effectively listening to what they had to say. He was a proud parent.
"When we win this war, we will be unstoppable…" Suddenly the door to the meeting room was flung open and in walked Sedusa, Ms. Bellum running in hot on her tail. HIM's eyes turned black and a low snarl left his throat, Ms. Bellum gulped once she saw his face
"I'm so sorry…I couldn't stop her. She just barged right past me." The minute Sedusa walked in the room, all the generals stood up and bowed,
"Your highness." Sedusa acknowledged them but stood right where she was. HIM snarled,
"Everyone is dismissed." Everyone left the room except HIM and his sons. HIM made it known he was not happy
"What the hell is the matter with you?! YOU DON'T BARGE IN when there is a meeting going on!" Sedusa huffed,
"I used to be invited to these meetings." HIM rolled his eyes,
"Yeah and you got bored. FOR god sakes the boys were kicking ass in here, and you just waltz in here as if you own the place!" Sedusa narrowed her eyes,
"So, my babies were planning world conquest and you didn't even have the decency…" Boomer rolled his eyes and went up to his mother and gave her a hug and a kiss.
"Hello mother…yes we missed you too." Sedusa smiled as she hugged the youngest of her kids. She rose a brow at the other two,
"So, you guys are too old to give your mother some love?" Both Brick and Butch dragged themselves over to their mother and mimicked their younger brothers' actions. Him snarled,
"What do you want Sedusa?" She huffed
"I was looking for the boys…I needed to talk to them about the vacation." HIM groaned as he plopped back down onto his throne chair,
"You're still on this shit?!" Sedusa narrowed her eyes,
"You may not care but I do!" Butch pulled away from his mother and walked back to one of the chairs at the table,
"Whoa vacation? What are you talking about?" Sedusa clapped her hands together,
"A family vacation for the five of us! Just to get away from all the work, and the meetings and the stress." Brick snickered,
"No offense mom…but what work have you been doing exactly?" Sedusa growled,
"I see you've inherited your father's sense of humor…" HIM cracked a smile for the first time since Sedusa made her presence known, Boomer shrugged,
"I don't really think I want to go on a family vacation right now…" Sedusa shook her head,
"Not up for debate." Butch scoffed,
"Mom you can't make us go…besides we have our birthday party coming up…" Sedusa narrowed her eyes,
"That is at least a month away! And besides we can go after! Why are you guys fighting me on this?! Do you not want to spend time with me or something?" All four males in the room groaned. Sedusa always had the problem of over reacting to situations.
"Mom…no one is saying that. All we're saying is that…we have an empire to run. We don't get the luxury of taking family vacations…" Sedusa slammed her hands on the table, her snakes awake and angrily hissing, her eyes starting to glow,
"ENOUGH WITH THE EXCUSES! All I ask is for one thing from this family, and it's like I'm breaking your bones! THIS IS HAPPENING, so get over it." HIM growled, you can see the steam coming out of his ears,
"I should lock you in the prison dungeon for the amount of shit your pulling right now. REMEMBER your place my love." Sedusa said nothing as she looked at HIM. Brick looked at his mother,
"Well if we're doing this…It's not going to just be the five of us." Sedusa bit her tongue
"You guys hate me don't you." HIM rolled his eyes
"We are royalty, you can't just expect us to travel by ourselves." Sedusa huffed
"So, who all needs to go?" HIM shrugged,
"I don't know as of right now, but I already spoke with Ms. Bellum…" Sedusa growled,
"The little bitch, snitched on me?" Butch chuckled,
"Mom you do realize Ms. Bellum is dad's assistant…not yours, right?" Sedusa growled,
"You boys are starting to become more and more like your father each day…and it's pissing me the fuck off." Boomer rolled his eyes,
"No matter what you still love us." HIM groaned,
"If that's all for the bickering, I would like to continue my day, we have things to do." Sedusa huffed,
"It's like WWIII to spend any time with you people." HIM rolled his eyes as he began to push Sedusa out of the conference room, once she was out. He turned his back to the door as if to lock her out, looking frantically at his boys
"That woman is a nutcase." Butch chuckled,
"Yeah and you married her." HIM groaned,
"That's the curse of the vampire my child…once your heart comes back to life…you have found true love." HIM's eyes drifting towards his eldest son, whose eyes were focused at his feet.
"The curse of the vampire's heart just leads you to your soulmate…doesn't mean that you have to follow it…"
"What happens if you don't?" HIM looked at Brick as Brick locked eyes with his father,
"Then your heart will continue to beat, more painfully then the next…until your body gives out from all the pain." Butch groaned,
"So, your telling me that once my heartbeats I HAVE to mate with that person…what of she's hideous!" HIM chuckled,
"What draws a vampire to their mate is the primatial triad." Boomer rose his brow,
"I remember hearing about that in school…a vampire's connection is based solely on his desires." HIM rolled his eyes,
"If you want to talk textbook then sure…but going solely based off experience. Your heart can only beat for one creature…it beats when you found the connection of not only love, but body and soul. All three must be in tune for your heart to beat…" Brick scoffed,
"What if it's a mistake? How can the heart determine, love if you've never even met?!" HIM sighed,
"The curse my son…love at first sight." All three boys stood silent as their father spoke. No one moving a muscle or uttering a word. The information soaking deep especially in Brick's mind, he was beginning to experience the signs, like hell if he was going to admit it. But he was going to find away around it, he had to.
