I don't own Star Wars. I'm only writing what I think should happen after TROS

I hope you guys enjoy this chapter :)

Chapter 3

Rey's POV

The familiar black that often came with sleep shifted to a pleasant white. The white of the space wasn't so bright that it hurt her eyes but it was bright enough so she could see around her. The space Rey found herself in was empty. It had an energy that Rey had always felt inside her but in here it was amplified. She then felt a shift in the force around her. Someone was here with her.

Rey turned around to meet his gaze. His dark brown eyes were expecting to see her. She had forgotten what color his eyes were for the longest time but now this not so valuable information was not going escape her grasp. His eyes told her everything she needed to know. She saw love, warmth, relief and longing. He's been waiting for me.

She sprinted towards her other half. Rey finally felt complete. After days without feeling his presence she wondered if she would have lasted any longer. Without him she didn't know who she was. She felt like a lost child.

The feeling of satisfaction was shared through the bond when Rey finally reached him. Rey wrapped her arms around his waist looked up at him and finally whispered "Ben,".

After what felt like hours later, they finally broke the embrace and sat down next to each other. Rey turned to look at Ben and saw his eyes. The feeling in them shifted from relief to worry.

"Rey, are you okay?" He asked almost scared to know the answer.

Rey didn't know how to respond to a question like that. In reality she wasn't okay. When Ben left it felt like there was a hole in her chest. Nothing could ever replace what they had.

"Yeah, I'm okay" she responded with a halfhearted attempt at lying.

"You know that we read each others minds right? I can feel the distress and loneliness in you. You feel like you're back on Jakku."

What he said wasn't wrong. She did feel like she was back on Jakku. That lonely desert planet was her prison. Now she felt the same familiar loneliness with her friends. With her family.

Ben lifted his hand to her cheek and wiped something away. His gentle touch sent chills through her body. Rey's voice was barely above a whisper when she said "Is this even real?" She had no idea if this was a dream or not.

"We're in you mind." Ben stated "It's like mix of a dream and a force vision." He gestured to himself and said "This isn't my real body. It's just my life force but your mind is filling in where I should be."

"So it's real but not real?" she asked a little confused.

Ben chucked softly and said "Yeah, pretty much."

Rey smiled for the first time in a week. Hearing his laugh. She realized that she never really heard him laugh before. This relaxed state he was in was so unlike him but at the same time it fit him perfectly.

"Do you know how you got here or how long I've been here?" He asked.

The memory came back to her. Her waking up from a nightmare. Working on her lightsaber for hours. Finn coming to check on her. Him telling her to take a shower. Her collapsing. Now she was here.

Rey let the weak walls in her mind down and let Ben investigate. She saw the worry build more and more in his eyes. She felt him go further into her memory than she wanted. She knew he saw the nightmares, the aching muscles and injuries she didn't bother to deal with. He slowly eased his way out of her fragile mind.

The look on his face broke her heart. Disappointment, love, and worry ran through his eyes trying to decide on one emotion. He rested his hands on her shoulders and pulled her in close to him.

Rey did something she didn't ever think she would do. She cried. The tears ran down her face for an hour. Heaving and shaking until the tears ran dry. Then a quiet voice rose through her pain. It's okay, I'm here. Rey looked up at Ben and whispered "Thank you."

Then she saw the emotions in his eyes shift again. Curiosity, longing, and something else she couldn't put a name to. "Rey, I'm sorry but I think I have to go. I think you'll understand when I say it's a force thing." Ben said in a disappointed tone.

"How do you know?" she asked equally disappointed.

"I just have a feeling." he stated simply.

After a moment Ben bowed his head down and Rey tilted her head up. She never realized how much of a height advantage he had on her. She smirked and let the thought go through their bond. Ben smirked down at her and gave Rey a kiss on her cheek. Rey's face turned a bright pink at the interaction.

Ben's body faded out of sight and Rey was alone again with only her thoughts as company. The space started to shift to the familiar black that Rey always welcomed.
