All rise,
Alex's hands is so clumsy and sweaty, to say she was nervous was understatement of the year,
"Your honor, I would like, to stand Miss Alex Vause to speak for herself" Says Mr Kimeo Alex's lawyer Alex stood up, and walked around the stand,
Raise your right,
"Do you Alex Pearl Vause, swear to tell the whole truth, nothing but the truth!?",
"I do" She nods and take a seat,
"Miss Vause, who is Sylvie to you?"
"She's my wife" Alex answered, fidgeting with her fingers,
" How long have you been together?"
" Four years and 7 months" Alex mumbled glancing where Sylvie was sitting
"Do you have kids"
" Yes, we have two kids," she replied" lowering her gaze on the ground,
"How old are they?"
She swallowed a lump before answering.
"I have a 3 years old daughter and one year and half old son"
" Do you love your family?"
"Yes, very much"
Hearing this the judge raised his gaze to where Alex was sitting,
"No further questions your honor" Mr Kimeo said before taking his seat,
Sylvie's Lawyer, stood up, he is very intimidating, but at least Sylvie is no presenting herself'
" Miss Vause what do you do for a living"
"Objection irrelevant" Mr Kimeo shouts
" Your honor am just trying establish the time Alex spends with her family"
"lamely sustained" the judge interjected,
" I own a medium Sized firm, which deals with supplies and distribution of goods and services, we also act as agent in clearing and forwarding business" she finishes leaning back on her seat"
" At what time do you leave for work and get back to your family?"
" Your honor Objection" what does that has to do with this?
"Sustained"
" due to traffic jam I leave for work at 5am, and then get back to home at 21pm or 22pm"
" So miss Vause, that is to say your kids always falls asleep before you get home, and you leave before they're awake?"
" Your honor objection" inadequately asked" Mr Kimeo angrily shouts
"Withdrawn" the judge voiced
Distributing paperwork to the judge and to Alex's Lawyer, and to Alex herself, Sylvie Lawyer continued,
"Miss Vause according to this papers exhibit A,
"Is it true that you have a drug abuse problem/history?"
"Objection your honor"
" Proceed"
"Please repeat the question" Alex answered her eyes filled with nothing but emptiness,
"How many times have you overdosed?"
She steals a glance at her lawyer, and then back to Sylvie before answering
"4 times"
" Who is your biological father?"
"Objection irrelevant" Mr Kimeo said standing up barking at Sylvie's lawyer,
Alex shifts uncomfortably on her seat, adjusting her glasses nervously, and then she says
"Lee Burley" she whispered it in a very low audible voice,
" Miss Vause do you mind telling the court how he died?"
" Your honor this is irrelevant and personal" Mr Kimeo objected,
" Yes, Mr Zedbin you mind telling us where this is going?" the judge asked Sylvie's lawyer,
"Yes your honor, I' m just trying to establish the ground for reliability, fitness and capability of Miss Vause in raising the kids if she'd to be granted full custodian right,
" Sustained" please hurry, I have another case for hearing within 30 minutes, the judge mumbled, glancing his watch
"Noted your honor" I just have two quick questions, and I will be done,
Miss Vause please answer the question,
" He overdosed" Alex answered her eyes welled up with tears,
" How old were you when he died?",
" 15 years old",
" So to say you followed his footpath, will be understatement of the year is it Miss Vause?"
"Excuse me?", Alex tensed and her jaw clenched,
" Your honor this is outrageous!" Mr Kimeo expands,
"Yes please Mr Zedbin what does that mean please explain it to me like i'm a 7 years old, the judge intervened,
" Your honor, Miss Vause here, wasn't raised by her father, she and her mother were abandoned, before, even she was born, her father didn't even know she existed, until she hunted him down, where she turned into drugs,
" Your honor, this is extremely unreasonable and a way of harassing my client, just because she wasn't raised by her father does not necessarily mean that she is unfit to raise her kids, this has nothing to do with her capability in co-parenting" Mr Kimeo intervened,
Please your honor may I finish explaining my stand , Mr Zedbin interrupted
"Sustained, please proceed".
"Thank you, your honor, the reason miss Vause was involved in drug abuse because she was the one who found her father dead on her school driveway" your honor Miss Vause is traumatized to say the least"
" Your honor, I used to be a drug addict, but that was four years ago, before Sylvie and I decided to have the kids, I love my kids and I will never do anything that jeopardizing their safety" Alex tried defending herself" i have been clean ever since, Alex's statements made the judge to turn around his head giving her a sympathetic look,
"Your honor may I remind ,the court and the jurors, that we are not doubting Miss Vause's love for her kids, but her mindset in raising her Kids, your honor given her drugs abuse history, am worried for the kids, who knows when she will relapse again?, if she'd to be granted full custody, don't we think, we will be putting these little innocent angels into danger?
The court room goes quite, for a while,
Any question? the judge asked,
"yes your honor one final question Mr Zedbin,. Continued,
"Miss Vause, you said you love your family?
"Yes"
"Does that family include your wife?
"Pretty much'
"When was the last time you guys had a sex like a married couple?"
Alex was caught off guard by this question, she didn't believe that Sylvie really told her lawyer their sexual life, fucking Sylvie, she wondered to herself"
"I...um..I don't recall" she stammered,
"No Further question your honor" , Mr Zedbin finishes with a smirk , pacing towards his seat, he then learned and murmured something which made Sylvie to blush in return,
Okay the court is dismissed, for now, and rulling will be conclude today at 2 o'clock, All rise,
