Hey peoples. This is my first post here on . I just wanted to say that the idea is mine but I do not own Miles from Tomorrowland, none of the characters are mine nor are the settings. This takes place as an alternate with season 2 episode 17, Mystery of the Dinosaurs. Enjoy.
"Hey, its okay, we'll be fine." Those were her last words to me.
A black-haired woman in an orange reflective space suit stood outside the massive ship gazing up. The sky was turning turquoise with the coming approach of the falling moon chunk. Its span few hundred if not thousand kilometers wide, it would take out all life on this planet for the next several million years like the one from earth that took out the dinosaurs back then. It approached ever closer as the woman, Captain Phoebe Callisto, twitched nervously gazing out at the canyon of Dammacleeze.
"Where is he?" She asked herself over an over as she strained her neck and squinted her eyes, desperate for any sign of her son. He had flashed away, riding on back of Merc, their pet robo ostrich in search of Angie the last Ankylosaurus who had run off. She swallowed hard before her jaw dropped letting in panicked breaths, they were losing time quickly and they had barely minutes left. A roar came from a several yards away.
"I hear her!" Professor Rubicon exclaimed just as Angie emerged with Miles close on her tracks. They were moving quick but not quick enough as the massive moon shard approached, gravity in its favor.
"Everyone inside, now!" Phoebe ordered turning on her heel to her daughter. They followed spinning a 180 and rushing in to greet Angie when she comes in. Phoebe stayed turning back to watch her son approach, it was going to be close, Angie would make it fine, but Miles and Merc were still quite a distance away.
Apparently, Merc came to the same conclusion just as quick. He swung his head for a second to gain one last glimpse of his owner, his friend, buddy, pal, and all-around brother. Wind blowing back Mile's bangs he had a solid look of determination carved into his normally joyful expression, but this was serious. Merc turned back to face the ship and with a quick speed tucked his head beneath him. Launching Miles into the air right at the door of the Builder's ship. In turn, Merc stumbled to the ground having thrown off his flying dynamic. Phoebe immediately understood his actions, there was not time for them to board if they wanted all aboard to make it safely.
Phoebe walked to the ships exterior where she had noticed a panel, at the click of a button she sealed the hatch from the outside. She quickly pulled up her quest com with Professor Rubicon.
"I want you to take them out of here now." She ordered sternly though small pearls of tears began to leak down her cheeks as she moved to help Merc.
"But Phoebe." Rubicon began in worry.
"No, Professor, please get my kids out of here. We're running out of time." She pleaded as she helped lift Merc from under his wing. Her eyes full of tears told him that she understood the cost she was about to pay. Under he orders the ship took off, the wind was intense, kicking up dust, it ruffled Merc's feathers, and blinded Phoebe with her own hair. Despite this the captain raised her head to watch the ships disappear to the stars. Her arm trembling with sorrow and fear slowly raised her hand to her lips. She pressed into it a gentle kiss then raised it, and blew it to her family, her kids, her husband. A last sweet goodbye before her bitter demise.
Her eyes clenched tight from dust that swirled around her ferociously everywhere from the moon splinter's advance. She clung to the robo ostrich by her side, the only thing keeping her from joining the brown mass that ripped everywhere. The blinding dull brown began coating her throat. She ducked down her head and prepared for the final ending.
Merc had other plans though, his transparent sky-blue wings disconnected from his deep chocolate body. The pair floated beneath above his head as they expanded together like a balloon inflating. The white lines of his wings that drew his 'feathers' grew as well, sealing them both in a dome.
"Children come to the bridge please. I have something I need to tell you." Professor Rubicon's voice was full of hesitation, it was strange. Miles and Loretta followed the command. At the bridge of the ancient builder's ship, the children were surprised to see Professor Rubicon alone at the wheel, he clicked a button that held a symbol that looked like a fish connect the dots. Turning to the others now near the professor pulled up a com link with their father. A few seconds and he was there in screen with them.
"I have distressing news," He said before they could get a word out. "Its not easy to tell you this but, unfortunately Captain Phoebe Callisto and Merc have opted to stay behind in favor of us getting out safely." Much to his horror each of their eyes grew wide with alarm. No one said anything, no noise could be heard, from his years of study Rubicon knew this was the calm before the storm.
The children rushed to the window pressing their faces to the glass to watch in dismay as the piece of moon finally makes contact. The pre-existing dust field plumed around the impact and sent waves trembling about the planet. All the green and blue of Dammacleeze vanished, replaced with dry deserts, empty wastelands and lava covering the surface. All of the planet's remaining life was wiped away, including their family.
