It was now a year after I found out about Thea. A lot has happened. Thea started to call Kim mama. It took her a little bit to get used to it, and over the guilt. After a couple of days she started to love it. As for Kim and I, we have been doing great. Amazing actually. We took it however we felt. The three of us really had come a long way. We were a family. Just not legally yet, which I'm planning on changing hopefully soon.
I had it all planned out. I wanted it to be perfect. Right now Kim was out with Thea to have a mommy daughter day. They were going to get lunch, and I think Kim mentioned something about getting their nails done. When they get back I will be in the kitchen while Kim will walk into the living room with Thea. I told Thea to go straight to the note, and hand it to Kim. While Kim is reading it I will come behind her, and get down on one knee with the ring held out. The ring was like a rose. It was on a silver band that had leaves and vines around the diamond. Thea helped pick it out. Recently she's been obsessed with flowers. She was smart for her age. She liked to give people a flower that described them, and Kim was a rose. Thea said that it was because she was pretty, but dangerous. In fact Thea would sometimes call Kim rose as well. Crap. The door was opening. I already left the letter on the coffee table. I made a sprint to the kitchen. The girls came in, Thea running straight to the coffee table to pick up the letter, with Kim following behind her. Kim thought that I was out with Kevin so she wasn't looking for me. After grabbing the letter she races back over to Kim with a huge smile on her face. I had already explained what this would mean if skim said yes, and to say the least she was excited. As she hands Kim the letter Kim just looks at it questioning. She looks around so I duck against the wall so she won't see me. When she didn't see anyone she opened the letter. As she was reading it I was going over the words that I had written down the day that by now I knew word for word.
Hi Kim. So today Thea called you mom for the first time. I could tell that it surprised you a bit, and that you felt slightly guilty. Don't feel guilty you basically are Thea's mom now and what she called you today was the final step of her accepting you as her mom. Blood or not.
You know Thea's probably figured this out a long time before I did. The way that she accepted you, and would rely on you for comfort. She's smart. I remember that day that I found out about Thea, and you were the first one out of both of us to approach her. I'm pretty sure that she knew what you were going to be to both of us. What she said today was the final piece of the puzzle that is us: you, me, and Thea. What she said opened my eyes just that little bit more in order to see the big picture. I want us to be a family. An official family; you, me, and Thea. At that moment I knew that I wanted to marry you. I want to marry you Kim. I want you to be my wife. I want you to be Thea's mother, and possibly more children if you want. I want you to be a permanent part of our lives. I want us to always be able to be there for each other. I want you Kim
I knew that letter like the back of my hand. I could also tell by where her finger was that she was close to the part that I had added on this morning. I was already behind her, and on my knee with the ring out. She turned around, and looked at me with tears in her eyes.
Kim turn around. Kimberly Burgess, will you marry me?
She doesn't even wait for me to say the words before she pulls me up into a kiss, and I hear her mumble,
"I would love too"
We held each other close before we finally pulled away, and I put the ring on Kim's finger. After that Thea finally put it together because I told her that we are getting married if Kim wears the ring. She came bolting towards us, hugging our legs, while we just stood there. As a family.
Ok guys this is the final chapter to this series. Don't worry I am working on another multi-chapter series that I will hopefully be publishing in the next couple of days. It is actually inspired by one of your suggestions for the one shots that I felt like there was to much for it to just be a one shot or a two shot. Also I am looking at all of your suggestions, and I love them. Thank you all for the support and love. I might be posting some small one shots onto this series to show some sweet family moments. I am also working on another story that should be up maybe mid or late September. It does have Burgstead, but that is not the only thing. I just want to make sure I am fully informed before started the story. I also want to warn you that I might not be posting every day like I have been because my school is starting. I will try to post at least every other day, but I also want to make sure that the content I am providing is worth your time. Thank you all.
