A/N: This is one of the few half chapters. Half chapters will come out when I am pressed for time or for epilogues.
Disclaimer: I don't own Highschool DxD or the Fate Series.
Chapter 1
It was only day two of this new world and I could already tell how this was going to go.
"Oh, your little protector isn't here today, isn't that bad Issei-chan~." A loud thunder sounded off, making the scene look like a horror show, but it was not, just another day at this damnable school. If someone told me that taking the place of Issei was going to involve this I wouldn't take, I had enough of this shit from my own life.
"Oh Issei-chan you do look scared, do you understand your position. Leave those girls to us." Did they have personalities? I would love to get back at them, but this body of mine wouldn't respond, it was like Issei had built up a fear of them. I wonder what they did.
"You already know."
Was I going crazy? Eh, maybe. Was my stress already building up and if it was it wasn't because of this world, it was school, It was so tiresome. As soon as I got the chance, I would drop out.
"Lucian-san, what are you doing here." Matsuda- was it?- stuttered out as she entered the room. God, I needed to fix this body, so I could do that myself, maybe after I learn some martial arts or maybe sword technique. Livan slightly flinched, part devil, part human, didn't hide you from God, even in his death.
"I was guiding the new transfer students around and I left Issei alone for a moment, and you went after him." Livan was shaking in anger, the two people that were behind her. And one was also shaking in anger. I don't remember anyone transferring in this early.
"Now, now, Lucian-san, you don't want to hurt us, we were just messing around with him." Weak excuse as always. I rather not have to deal with this every day when she isn't here.
"I don't think threatening me into giving my sister and Livan to you two is messing around. After all, you don't mess with a girl's heart." The two looked at me in fear, Livan began the beatdown, funny enough, the whole classroom joined in. I watched in boredom, it's better when you do it yourself. Either way, perverts and bullies get what they deserve.
"The teacher is coming." Some random student shouted out, the group of girls quickly dispersed. Matsuda and Motohama were left on the ground, groaning in pain.
"I do like your tastes."
This voice was annoying, the little it spoke, gave me the feeling of death. An odd effect, but I would love to kick it out from my head.
I expected a response from the voice, but nothing came. I was curious, what was it? I began to tune out my surroundings.
Was it Ddraig?
Maybe another sacred gear?
"Hyoudou-San, can you please raise your hand." I was brought to reality by the teacher, I did as said. Taking a look at the front of the class, I saw two girls. I immediately ducked my head.
It was Irina and Xenovia. Was I already in the Kokabiel Arc? No, the Red Dragon Emperor hasn't awakened. I hid in my hands, why were they here already? What was it?
"Ah, Teacher, I already know Issei." She told the teacher, with a smile. The teacher nodded and then gestured to them to move.
In my thoughts, I was freaking out. Had the Riser Arc ended, this early. Or is this a case of someone not existing. Speaking of that, I have that Rias has been attending the school. But… If he was here. Then I would be screwed. if it's Kokabiel. I would have to do anything to survive. I could only hope that Kokabiel wouldn't cause a Great War.
"Issei, are you ok?" Livan asked, looking at me in concern. I was drawing attention to myself, I threw on a reassuring smile.
"I'm fine. I just didn't sleep too much, last night." It seemed to wave her concerns away. Almost.
—
A single bell went off and lunch was here, I stood up and began to stretch. Picking up my stuff, I walked out of class and up on the roof. I had brought my own food, I had to wake up early, but I did it.
I almost started to laugh, It was only day two and I have already become accustomed to the world. Opening the door to the roof, I found three extra occupations. Livan was already there, she was sitting beside Asuka. Livan waved and motioned for me to come over.
I took a seat beside Livan, and I realized who the other two occupants were, Irina and Xenovia.
"Issei, I haven't introduced you to our two new friends." She smiled and began introducing them, "This is one is Irina and the other one is Xenovia."
"Did you say Issei?" Irina spoke up, looking at me intensely. Asuka spoke up, "Irina, do you still have that on him?"
Irina blushed and nodded. She started to panic as she realized I was there, but I kept my straight face, I tried looking confused, which apparently worked.
Livan had also caught on and smiled. "Irina-chan, you have a crush on someone. Tell us." Livan was teasing Irina but even though it was obvious, she blushed hard.
Xenovia tilted her head, being in her natural state of confusion. "A crush? You want to kill someone, Irina?"
Irina's blush dimmed, before whispering something in Xenovia's ear. Her eyes widened in realization, "Irina who do you have this crush on? We must get you two together." Xenovia's eyes had lit up in determination.
"Yeah Irina, who do you have this crush on?" Asuka started to tease as well. I just listened in as I ate. I wasn't one to talk to people, I was just happy to listen in.
"It looks like Irina isn't going to tell us. Issei." My name was suddenly spoken, that I jolted out of my thoughts. "Do you have anyone you like?" It was Livan who was asking the question.
"Um. Not really." I shook my head, why should I lie about having one. Asuka looked over at me confused, but she kept quiet.
"Really?" Livan went on in teasing me.
"Yes, no one."
"You. Livan."
"Really, really?"
"No one."
"Yes, there is."
"Really, really?" I was tired of this. My breaking point was so low for some reason. My mental fortitude was truly weak.
"Yes." I almost snarled, before catching myself. I look over at Livan politely, "Can we not talk about this." My love life was a sore spot for me. Even in my previous life, I died a virgin, I was unable to find anyone. And this damnable ghost wasn't making anything better.
"Yeah." Livan looked down at her food and her appetite vanished. I stood up leaving the roof first. Closing the door behind me, I looked down berating myself. "Why do I mess everything up?"
"You are not the only one."
—
I didn't know what to do, I left school alone. I heard from Livan that Asuka left early because of her Dad. Ha. I didn't consider him my own father, I don't know what it was.
"You're not the only one who doesn't consider him, a father."
The voice was back. It was easy to tell who it was. "Wasn't that right, Issei."
"Correct. I wasn't hiding it."
"I didn't expect you to survive, your little ritual."
"Little harsh, aren't you. Thief."
"Probably, but doing that doesn't lead to a happy life after it."
"You're right. What was your dad like?" He turned quiet, before changing the topic.
"Hm. I didn't talk to him too much, he was always working. When I was young I didn't understand why he was doing that, but as I grew older, I understood that he was working for my future. Is that what your father was doing?" I spoke quietly, not passing by anyone, like I was the only one within the world.
"Heh. No, he is not. After being under his gaze, he doesn't care for my future, just Asuka for some reason.'"
I drew close to the house. "It would make sense, from what I have heard, she aces every test, while you always fail, and aren't Japanese families usually harsh on their children?"
"Yes. They are." Issei went quiet after that. I ignored it and continued on.
My walk home was empty, I never came across anyone or even thought of anything, but as I drew closer to the door, I heard an argument within.
"Asuka. Why are you covering for that useless child?" It was Issei's father yelling. Asuka had come home early, makes sense.
"Dad. He's not useless, he's your own child." Asuka began yelling back. I crept up behind the kitchen door, listening in.
"He can't even make a decent grade on any of his exams, I don't even know how he made it into that school of yours."
"He might not be good at school work, but he tries." She put up a weak excuse.
"He tries, you say, all he does is sit up in his room and sleep. And you should remember why we are having this conversation. He is bringing shame to our name." His father was one of these people, those who lived in the feudal era. I haven't even had a proper conversation with him, and I am hating him already.
"Father." Her tone was dropping, she didn't like that. "I should remind you, we aren't samurai."
"He doesn't deserve our name, I should have never listened to your mother about bringing him home." My eyes widened. Issei was adopted. No. No. No.
"Damn it. That makes sense, why he never paid attention to me, never helped me, but always helped her."
I wasn't the Red Dragon Emperor. And I was so cocky that I agreed to the date. It was going to end this early. Damn it.
"What are you talking about?" Asuka asked, confusion evident in her voice.
"Damn. I let it leak." Asuka's father had cursed himself. I turned back around and walked outside, closing the door behind me. Mr. Hyoudou was- I shook my head, I needed to prepare for Sunday. I took a path into the woods to be alone.
—
Kuoh was truly an unremarkable place, nothing to help it stand out from the rest of Japan. All of it had to go for it was a secret to the humans. Devils owned the territory, it was given from the Shinto Gods to Devils. Such a shame, this entire town was made prey for Devils.
And it began prey for the Fallen Angels too, for the incompetence of the overseers, who did not report or even eliminate the Fallen that were allowed to murder humans at any time.
The supernatural world did not understand the importance of humans. They were able to make the most of their life, make it to space and explore underwater with no help. While the supernatural world was still stuck on the extermination of all other factions. A lost cause, wasn't it?
"Ah. Ma'am could you direct me to the park." A foreigner asked the native in perfect Japanese. She nodded politely and began pointing out the direction.
"Thank you, miss." The foreigner thanked her and walked on his way. A smile was plastered on his face, for all to see.
He laughed, his eyes began to shine a beautiful gold, he found his target.
—
"Fuck. FUCK." I screamed out in English. "Damn it. I got too cocky, I thought I was going to be the Red Dragon Emperor." I slammed my fist onto the ground.
"You could train?"
"Yes. Train, I have two days before I have to meet Raynare. If I have no sacred gear, I would be screwed. A normal person can not become stronger than a Fallen Angel in just two days. What else did I have, my foresight, that's now damaged? What could I do 'predict' what would happen? If I went to the devils to tell them about the Khaos Brigade, they would lock me up and ask how. There's nothing I could do."
"Then why won't you go ask Asuka for help?"
"Why? Because she will ask how I know all about the supernatural realm and would get suspicious because if you can't tell I barely act like you." My thoughts were voiced. I heard a branch break, snapping back to the sound. I found a man dressed in a full suit with a hat. His face was unrecognizable to me, it was that of European descent but it held a regal look. I thought of the worst, the church.
"Who are you." I cautiously looked at him, I had no way out, I screwed myself by walking into the woods. The European man came out with a smile.
I saw a chance to escape. "Do you wonder why you were brought to this world, Watcher?" I was stopped by my own confusion. He knew. He knew. Why did he know?
"How do you know that?" His grin merely widened, his eyes turned predatory. Like he was ready to pounce on me.
"You'll find out soon enough, but first try to survive." He darted forward, moving faster than my eyes could possibly see. A hand reached to my head, before I could even react, I was knocked out.
—
"Have you ever wondered why Gods are unchanging?"
"They have no reason to."
"Do you know how to change a God?"
"You must be something terrifying enough to instill fear into them, for them to want change."
Laughter filled the air, the two voices came into view. A blonde-haired man and a giant red dragon.
"The path of terror. Child, do you know the other?"
The man shook his head, no.
"Leadership. One where you make friends with everyone, and change their views for your own purpose."
The man contemplated, he then laughed.
"It is already too late for me. I have died, failing to reach my dream."
"You were successful if your dream was merely changing the gods. Sadly, they changed for the worst, looking to take out each other now, trying to prevent another one of you."
The man looked up in shock, something raged in his crimson eyes. He looked down, "So all of my efforts were for nothing."
The dragon laughed. "I brought you here for something, a second chance to say so."
The man looked up at the dragon, questioning its thoughts.
"It isn't a second chance for you, but for your ideals."
"I don't understand."
It cackled this time.
"The All-Knowing King doesn't know something. Truly hilarious."
The man didn't look angry, just confused.
"Your ideals will live on in a successor. He will complete that task for you."
The man laughed. He was allowed to rest.
"I have died, and so my ideals will, as well. If you allow me to, I would still like to choose a successor."
The dragon joined in the laughter.
"You are worth everything I saw in you. You may choose your successor."
—
I woke up with a gasp.
What had I just witnessed?
"Oh, you finally woke up." The man from the woods was sitting on a stool and drinking tea right in front of me.
"What was that?" He would have answers, probably.
The man grinned, "So it worked, then I shall welcome you to the world." He stood up and did an overly dramatic bow. "My Lord."
"You mean, I am that person's successor?" I had no clue who the person was, I just knew his looks and dream.
"Oh, it didn't tell you." He sounded depressed almost, he shook his head, "Of course it wouldn't tell you."
"Now then please do not freak out." He stopped for a second to let me prepare and then he continued. "You have been chosen to be the successor to Gilgamesh, King of Men."
I started to freak out. This was Gilgamesh we were talking about, the dude who shoots noble phantasms from portals, well that was fate but it was a win for me. I had a way out of the date with Raynare, at least I could protect myself.
"I said not to freak out. Geez, did you not hear me?" The man sat back down, he took off his hat. "Then allow me to introduce myself, the name is Kokabiel, Angel of the Stars." I looked at him, he looked and sounded nothing like Kokabiel.
"So, you started with the Excalibur yet." He looked shocked for a moment, "I forgot who I was dealing with. Watcher."
"Don't call me watcher, I don't know, go with something else." I had asked him, I rather not get called 'Watcher' it sounded creepy.
"Then. Issei?" I nodded, it was better to use this name to get used to it.
I gripped my head. "Hmm, you can go back to sleep. You are still taking in memories. Of two somehow." I was about ready to ask another question before my vision went black.

A/N: I got this done pretty fast, but on the pending edit, my school blasted me with four AP classes in one semester, except for late chapter releases for until Christma. Anyways thanks for taking your time reading this.
Chapter 1 rewrite is done, and I like it better than the original story as doesn't seem rushed in the timeline. For the story, almost every day(In the story) will have it's separate chapters(Like Prologue was Wednesday, Chapter 1 is Thursday.), unless I need to merge two chapters together.
I will be doing a review corner in almost every chapter. This is to clear up any confusion, I might have written or hadn't as I am still a newbie writer. Please do leave a message or review if you see any mistakes.
Review corner:
Sultan Asil Arslan: He won't be pure evil, if that is what you are asking about. As for servants, I still have no clue if I should even add them. At most, they will be included in the Hero Faction, like their reincarnation.
M2R: You can take the OC two different ways, those ways will be answered soon or something, I dunno.
TooBad69: Yeah, while writing that I was too big on rushing scenes and not having an outline. This time I came prepared, an ending that is set in stone. Being an avid reader, I understand about only getting 12 chapters a year, so I think in September, it will be two chapters a month. And I don't believe I will take that long to finish the story.
Lucas Oliveira1: I didn't intend that to be seen as a mystery, but I see how it can be taken that way, when I get a chance, maybe during my breaks I will fix that issue.
JustAShadow4: Thanks for your kind words.
Vali Ryuketsu: Yeah, I will be keeping some stuff from my previous story. As for that tragedy tag, It'll go somewhere soon.
Anyways,
Read and Review, please I need to feed my family.
