Chapter III: Arrogant Prince

As the Professor assigned Kallen to sit between the two handsome teenagers, on the left side has a mysterious aura and boring look while on the right side has a nice persona and a welcoming smile toward her.

"So much for here goes nothing Kallen." She thought to herself and tried to swallow her nervousness as she smile to the both of them. "I think she's nice." Suzaku thought and send her a gentle smile that made her look away for she was not used to see that on her former school.

"Hmm… what's wrong with her, its look like she will be eaten by us? But I will not be deceived by her shy persona and soon she will reveal her true self " Lelouch wondered suspiciously.

"Hi! Nice meeting you." Kallen greeted Suzaku first and smiled. "Hi Kallen, I am Suzaku. Nice meeting you too and welcome to the Ashford University." Suzaku replied with a smile. "Thank you, Suzaku." Kallen smile she did not know, but Suzaku has a vibe of familiarity. "By the way, on your other side is my friend, Lelouch." Suzaku said.

Kallen looked at her left side and face the said man named, Lelouch. "Hi Lelouch. Nice meeting you too." Kallen greeted the silent boy. "Hmmm." Lelouch just looked at her without saying anything and it irked Kallen inside, but she will let it go this time. She doesn't want to make a scene on her first day in her new school.

Suzaku noticed this and called her attention. "Don't mind him, he is always like that, but when you know him better, he is a nice person too." Suzaku assured her with a gentle smile. Kallen was grateful and smiled at Suzaku and it made him blush. Lelouch saw it and was annoyed that his best friend was enthralled by this Ms. Stadfeld.

For Kallen, the class was interesting since it is about the history of Britannia, her new country… but she still can't help to miss her real country, Japan and all the people she have left on the said country and she did not noticed that the class already dismissed until she heard his voice for the first time.

"Are you going to be in your LALA Land here all day?" The man asked smugly. As she looked on her surrounding that everyone was gone and Suzaku already at the door and the person beside her was none other than Lelouch or rather than the arrogant jerk as Kallen described him in her mind.

"Ah, no… I suppose. Thank you for reminding me." Kallend said with a fake smile. "You don't need to fake it, if you don't want to. I don't care." Lelouch said and walk away. Kallen was dumbfounded to say the least. "What's wrong with him?!" Kallen glared at back of the said boy.

After the encounter with her classmate in her History class. She was famished and looking for the cafeteria. "Hmmm… where is the cafeteria, the guard said I should turn left and wil see a pack of students." Kallen wondered while looking for the said place. "Don't tell me you are lost?" Someone whispered at her back and all her hair at her back stand. "What?" She faced the intruder and shocked to be greeted by this man again. "Hi Miss, I was sitting back there and noticed that you are looking for something or rather lost." He said with his smile. Kallen embarrassed "Ano… honestly, you are right. I'm kind a lost. You know I am just new here." Kallen said.

The man smiled at her with understanding. "I see. By the way, I'll be taking my lunch as well." The man offered and continues. "If you want we can have lunch together if it is alright with you to have lunch with a stranger." The man jokingly said. "Ahhh, she doesn't know why, but she felt secured to this man." The girl wondered. "I'm sorry, but I-" She was cut-off by the man. "I am Schneizel Philips." The man smiled. Kallen's eyes widened that the man finally gave her his name and she felt warm.

"I'm Kallen, Kallen Stadfeld." Kallen replied. They smiled to each other. "Now, we know our names. Maybe we can have lunch together." Kallen giggled, she was going to say yes until someone called her behind. "I think it will be no, since your friend calling you, maybe some other time Kallen." The man smiled and gave her a gentleman bow. Kallen still on dazed when Suzaku arrived and waved his hand in front of her. "Kallen are you alright? Who is he?" Suzaku asked and look to the man's back.

"Ah, he is a friend." Kallen said though she was not sure if he can be labeled as friend for they had just met in a day twice. "Is that so, me and Lelouch were looking for you. So you can meet the whole gang." Suzaku said in a friendly manner. Kallen can't believed that the arrogant jerk was looking for her too.

Suzaku offered his hand as a gentleman. "Let's go, Kallen." Kallen blushed and placed her hand to Suzaku and Suzaku felt something that he was electrified without knowing.

The whole gang was having their lunch together when Suzaku and Kallen arrived. Everyone noticed their entwined hands even Lelouch. Then, Rivalz whistled and the rest were giving each other a knowing look. "Way to go man!" Rival greeted them while pointing his thumb and grinning like a maniac. At first, Kallen and Suzaku were bewildered until they noticed that they are still holding hands and in an instant they let go their hands and blushed. "It's not what you think; I am just being a gentleman here." Suzaku defend. Then, all the gang was just laughing in his failed attempt of his denial. "Yes, it's not true. He was just being friendly." Kallen try to console Suzaku.

"Alright! If you say so." Milly said while thinking a lot of things on how to embarrass the both of them in the future, but for now she will let it go. "You may now sit Kallen." Shirley offered.

During their lunch, they asked a lot of questions about Kallen. Her hobbies, family, and her former country and they also knew that she is half-Japanese and Shirley told her that Suzaku is also a Japanese. Until the topic changed, and asked if she has a boyfriend thanks to Rivalz and all they all waited for her answer.

"Ano, I don't have a boyfriend ever since." She confirmed and Suzaku smiled and Lelouch did not really believe her. He glanced once again and found her beautiful, sweet and he know deep within a strong woman and it impossible no one noticed it, He was thinking too much and did not noticed that he is glaring to Kallen. "Why he is glaring at me? Did I offend him?" Kallen thought hard when she noticed that Lelouch Lamperouge glaring at her.

"Lelouch, why are you glaring at Kallen?" Shirley asked. Without saying anything, Lelouch stands-up and walked away from his friend. They are all confused. "Nah, he's having his moments again. Don't mind him Kallen." Rivalz said. Unfortunately, Kallen can't take it anymore and she need it to fix it as early as she can without ado she ran after Lelouch.

Suzaku wants to run after her, but Milly stopped him. "Let them." Suzaku just sighed and Shirley was also worried because secretly she admired Lelouch and afraid to lose him to the red hair beauty.

Kallen ran faster and immediately spotted Lelouch. "Hey! You! Stop!" Kallen shouted. Lelouch stopped as requested and turn to face her. "What?!" He snapped. Kallen was confused why his acting like she have done something wrong. "Lelouch—" Lelouch interfered. "Don't call me that, we are not friends. I know in Japan, you don't usually call them by first name if you are not close." Lelouch smugly explained.

Kallen was shocked that Lelouch knew the Japanese ethics and she frowned. "Alright, Mr. Lamperouge." Kallen said. Lelouch doesn't know why he did not like it when she called him by his last name. "I don't know what wrong did I do to you to treat me like a rag, can you elaborate why you hate me that much?" Kallen said determinedly.

Lelouch just glared at her and said. "I don't like you; I don't like fake person." He said. Kallen did not know what's gotten to her when she strangled Lelouch's collar and said "Listen, before you judge me, you need to know me better than giving me a lousy assumption." Kallen said while stopping the tears to fall down, she doesn't want to cry in front of this jerk and she let him go until some men with shades surround them.

"Is there something wrong, your highness?" One of the men said. Kallen was confused and shocked. "Don't tell me, he is part of the royalty." Kallen thought. "It's nothing Jeremiah, I want to go home." After that Lelouch was guided by the man called Jeremiah and the rest of the men follow them, leaving Kallen's behind.

Lelouch glanced at her on the limousine window and smirked since he was able to see the true Kallen Stadfeld.
