Molly Weasley looked up from the stove as the wards chimed the arrival of someone. She smiled softly as Nymphadora Tonks walked up the path from the gate. Molly met the young woman at the door to ask their security question before letting her into the house. Molly heard an accented sigh from the stairs and bristled visibly. Just because her oldest son was marrying the French blonde that had just entered the kitchen, did not mean Molly liked her.
"Good morning, Tonks," Molly smiled as she turned back to her.
"Morning, Molly," Tonks smiled. "I was wondering, can you spare Ginny today? I thought maybe I'd take her shopping then over to my mum's house for the afternoon."
"I don't see why not," Molly shrugged. "Your day together a few weeks ago did wonders for her." Molly turned to Fleur as the blonde looked at the teapot on the counter. "Help yourself, Fleur."
Tonks noted Molly's tone had changed. She grimaced as she noted the slight scowl Molly sent to the French woman. Footsteps sounded from the stairs as Tonks looked up. Ginny smiled upon seeing Tonks standing by her mother.
"Morning, mum. Wotcher, Tonks."
"Hey, that's my line," Tonks smiled. Ginny giggled as she poured some tea.
"Ginny, dear, Tonks is here to pick you up for a girls' day again," Molly smiled at her daughter.
"Oh," Ginny perked up considerably at that. She knew full well that Tonks was really there to take her to see Harry. "Should I eat now or will we grab something while we're out?"
"We'll grab something," Tonks smiled. "Go get changed. And grab a bag with your toiletries. We're gonna go swimming at my mum's place later."
"You bet," Ginny grinned as she hurried back upstairs.
Ten minutes later, Ginny and Tonks walked out of the Leaky Cauldron in London. Ginny marveled at the city. She had rarely had a reason to truly see and explore the Muggle side of the world, even though her father was obsessed with Muggles. Tonks chuckled at Ginny's wide-eyed expression as they walked down the street.
"This morning is about us," Tonks grinned. "I don't have any sisters either, so I'm happy to 'adopt' you as my little sister, because I know we both care about a certain green-eyed boy, not in the same way, mind you, but still."
"I should hope not," Ginny laughed. "You are his 'aunt'."
Tonks opened her mouth to argue but closed it again. Ginny did have a point. Tonks nodded as she motioned Ginny into a store that had a display window full of swimsuits. After much convincing and several reminders that her mother was not going to see it, and she was trying to look her best for Harry, Tonks finally talked Ginny into getting a two-piece swimsuit.
They spent the rest of the morning wandering the shops and streets of that section of London. They ate at a street café, laughing over the shyness and awkwardness of most men. Ginny expressed her gratitude to Tonks and Remus for all they had done and were doing for her and Harry. Tonks waved it off by telling her that Harry had come to them begging for help in fixing his mistake. Ginny smiled know Harry really did care about her feeling.
As noon approached, Tonks apparated Ginny to a house that looked like a square of four different buildings. Tonks waved at someone that appeared in the window of the building to the left. She motioned Ginny to follow her into the house so they could change. Ginny noticed Remus was nowhere in sight. She realized that he was probably getting Harry away from his awful relatives' house.
Soon Ginny, wrapped in her towel, was following Tonks down a small path that was surrounded by trees. She could see the far end of the path opened into a clearing. As they approached the end of the path, Ginny could hear the soft babbling of a stream. She stepped out of the wooded path to see a large pond that has a stream on the far side, flowing away from it. On the near side was a tall rock formation with a gently cascading waterfall that seemed to originate from the top of the rocks. The pond was completely surrounded by trees, but the ground gave way to a small beach that went all the way around the pond. Summer flowers of blue, purple, and yellow lined the grass from the trees to the sand. It was one of the most beautiful places Ginny had seen.
"Hi, love," Harry smiled from a place on the beach.
"I knew you'd be here," Ginny smiled.
Ginny gave him a sly grin as she slowly walked over to him. As she walked, she dropped her towel. Harry's eyes widened as Ginny saw him swallow very hard as his eyes traveled over her body. Her new sky-blue bikini was definitely having the desired effect on him.
"See something you like?" Ginny asked as she stopped in front of him.
"Uh-huh," Harry nodded, his mouth still slightly open as he stared at her. Ginny chuckled as she placed a hand on his cheek.
"What? No, 'hello' kiss?" she asked with a smirk.
That was all it took to have Harry snap out of his shock and pull her into a tight hug and lingering, passionate kiss. They were both out of breath when the broke apart. Harry sighed as he leaned his forehead on hers.
"You look gorgeous," he panted.
"Thank you, handsome," Ginny smiled. "Are we going to stand here all day or are we going to eat lunch?"
"Huh? Oh," Harry jerked back, startled. "Oh, yeah."
Ginny giggled as he led her over to the blanket that was spread out with a picnic basket on it. Harry held her hand as they sat before he reluctantly let go to pull out the food. Ginny had to smirk as she caught Harry staring at her again as he fumbled with the food.
"Here, let me help you," Ginny chuckled as she reached over to pull their lunch out before Harry spilled it all over them and the blanket.
Harry and Ginny sat talking about the next few days as they ate. Harry would be arriving at the Burrow in two days' time, and never have to return to those dreadful Muggles. Harry's seventeenth birthday was planned out, but not by Ginny. She told him that her mother had made all the arrangements for the party. Bill's wedding was brought up, but Harry could see the disdain Ginny had for Fleur.
"Gin, I don't mean to be…argumentative, but…" Harry cringed at the look on her face. "Fleur really isn't that bad. I got to know a bit during the Tournament."
"How so?" Ginny asked crossing her arms.
"Not like that," Harry frowned. "We talked a bit. She's really insecure about her Veela heritage and how it makes most guys…"
"Drool? Become blithering idiots?" Ginny helped.
"Yeah, that," Harry sighed. "I talked to her after the maze. She thanked me for saving her. But she also asked about Bill."
"Why?" asked Ginny a little confused.
"She knew I was close to your family and wanted to know why he wasn't affected by it," answered Harry. "And just so you know, neither am I."
"You…you're not?" she gaped.
"Never have been," Harry shook his head. "Still not sure why Bill isn't, but…" Harry shrugged. "She really is kind and sweet. She told me that she saw me as a little brother."
"I'll…keep that in mind when I get home," Ginny nodded. Ginny thought slowly about the French woman. Since Bill's injury, Fleur was rarely very far away from him, even while planning the setup for the wedding. Ginny sighed. "I think I owe her an apology."
"Well, you can worry about that later," Harry grinned as he slipped on a pair of goggles over his glasses. "Let's have some fun."
Ginny smiled as they ran for the pond. They splashed into the cool water making large sprays of water fly up. Ginny was momentarily blinded by the water and Harry's hand slipped out of hers. She looked around but didn't see Harry anywhere. Suddenly, arms encircled her waist hugging her tightly.
"Miss me, already?" Harry whispered in her ear. Ginny shivered as his warm breath hit her wet skin.
"Yes," Ginny answered as she spun in his arms. She pulled Harry down, capturing his lips with hers.
After hours of playing in the pond, with and without Remus and Tonks, Harry and Ginny held each other close as they prepared to leave. They had splashed each other, jumped, and dove off the rock with the waterfall, and, more often than not, hide from Remus and Tonks to snog each other senseless. Now, they were having trouble parting, even if it was just for a few more days.
"I know we have to keep us a secret, Harry, but…" Ginny started.
"I know. I don't want to, either," Harry finished for her.
"We'll figure it out," Ginny nodded as she rested her forehead on his.
"Love you, Gin," Harry grinned at her.
"Love you, too, Harry," she told him before pulling him in for one more kiss before Tonks called her. "See you in a couple of days."
"I'll be there," Harry grinned goofily at her. Ginny giggled as she waved to him before following Tonks down the path.
