Ever since third year, we've planned to get a flat together. I don't think any of us ever really thought about life after Hogwarts before that. Well - we'd thought about it, of course. But not as something that would happen to us. That June, we finally realized.

4. 4: Lily

If it were up to Sirius, I wouldn't exist.

Certainly not as James's girlfriend. Maybe not at all.

I pretend I don't realize, but I do.

It's hard on James, having Sirius act like this. Honestly, it's hard on me too.

Maybe one day Sirius will figure out that we're not at odds. That there's room in James's life for both of us. Maybe one day we can even be friends.

Or at least I hope we can. Having to choose between us would tear James apart.

And if Sirius can pretend he never hated me… if he never has to acknowledge he was wrong… well, maybe that'll make it easier for him to stop.

So I make nice, and hope he'll eventually come around.
