Disclaimer: I don't own Bleach. It's property of Tite Kubo.

Author's Note: Hi! Welcome back, everyone! I'm back with a one-shot and this one is more lighthearted than the rest, mostly because of the prompt but Ichigo and Rukia needed to catch a break lol. I won't say anything because I think the title spoils exactly what happens. I just hope you enjoy it as it was very fun to write.

As always, thanks for reading and reviewing!

See ya!

kiss kiss (fall in love)

Prompt: awkward

Summary: It was an accident, they swear! But maybe it wasn't so bad after all.

They didn't mean for this to happen.

It was an accident, they swear!

Just something that happened out of nowhere.

It was definitely not planned beforehand!

And now they have to deal with the consequences.

But before we can discuss that, let's rewind a little.

(Stop tape.

Rewind).

It is a normal day in Karakura.

Well, as normal as it can get in a town filled with spirits, but you get the idea.

The only thing out of the ordinary is the fact that it is raining.

Not that strange for a fall rain, but still.

The weather forecast had said it'd be sunny all weekend.

Instead it's been raining the whole day.

With their plans for Saturday ruined, Ichigo and Rukia have had to stay inside.

They are not the only ones unable to do their plans.

Karin was going to play soccer with her teammates and Yuzu was going to go shopping with a couple of friends.

The four are, naturally, dejected.

Seeing this, Isshin is quick to act and takes out an assortment of board games from his closet, so that they can all play together.

Yuzu gets excited right away.

Ichigo and Karin can't help but roll their eyes.

But Rukia has no idea what is going on.

She has never played any of those games before.

Once she admits to this, Ichigo and Karin soften up and they agree to play.

Yuzu and Isshin cheer and the most fundamental question is then asked.

"Which game do you wanna play first?"

The living room, then, quickly becomes a war zone.

They are all on the floor, with several boxes scattered around them, and on the table there is the game they are currently playing.

Rukia, turns out, is a natural at these games, particularly the ones regarding strategy, and keeps winning round after round.

When Ichigo complains, she just tells him, "I'm winning cause you never think ahead."

A true statement as it ever had been one, but not like the young man agrees.

"I'm pretty sure you're cheating."

"Nonsense."

And the whole morning wastes away as they play.

They eat leftovers for lunch, so that no one has to cook.

But eventually they play all board games available at home, so Ichigo rushes up and brings down his videogames.

He and Karin get competitive as Rukia and Yuzu cheer them on.

That is to say, they cheer on Karin.

Isshin watches them with a twinkle on his eye, as he sips his coffee and tries to read the newspaper, chuckling here and there.

Yuzu is not very good at them but accepts playing with Rukia.

Once again, for a newbie, Rukia's kind of good, but not enough to beat Ichigo.

And that's how they all end up discovering she's kind of a sore loser.

"It's your fault, Ichigo."

"How is it my fault?"

"You're distracting me."

"How so?"

"I don't know! You just are."

The afternoon passes by as the rain continues pouring outside.

But it's fine.

They are having fun.

As dinnertime approaches, they decide to cook for Yuzu, so she can rest.

Which is actually stressing for her, as her siblings aren't as great in the kitchen as she is.

At least they don't end up setting anything on fire.

And the food's not bad.

It's edible at least.

"Would've tasted better if you had let me do it my way." Rukia comments.

"If I had, it would've taken us all night."

"It would've been worth it."

"We were starving, Rukia. Starving."

They eat together and converse about the series of games they played.

They can all agree it's been fun.

But at night, after a whole day of hanging out together, the Kurosaki family disperses.

Yuzu continues sewing a new dress for her dolls.

Karin decides to watch a soccer game on the TV.

Isshin goes to his room to read the new book he had bought.

And Ichigo and Rukia decide to hang out in the former's room for a bit.

It's the usual deal for the,.

Rukia lays down on Ichigo's bed to read the newest issue of her horror manga, meanwhile Ichigo reads a novel for college on his desk.

But eventually, they get tired.

One thing leads to another and they start reminiscing.

About the first two months they had known each other.

They recall a particularly funny ghost or a fight that was challenging.

They rejoice in looking back on those early days, where life had seemed so simple.

They even talk about school, with them remembering a few incidents in class.

"Remember when you dreamed you'd failed your algebra quiz and it turned out you had?"

"Oh shut up. As if you'd had gotten better grades."

"I did. I got an 8."

"Sure, Ichigo."

Soon, they are sitting side by side on the carpet, the bed to their back, as they laugh together.

They don't even know what is so funny anymore, but they keep on laughing, their bellies aching as their laughter echoes in the room.

And here's when they don't know how it happens or why.

Just that it happens.

One minute they are just there laughing, and the next they are gazing into each other's eyes.

Ichigo has to think hard if Rukia's eyes are violet or deep blue.

Not that it matters.

They are mesmerizing.

And Rukia wonders when he had looked so grown up.

She can even see light stubble on his face.

He's not a boy anymore.

Soon they notice they are too close.

Huh?

When had that happened?

In the blink of an eye, their eyes close.

It's a feather-light touch.

Barely there.

But they are aware that their lips are touching.

Until they are not.

Suddenly, their faces are beet red and there are fumes coming out of their ears.

At the same time, they jump meters away and they point at each other.

"Wh-wha─?"

"I─I"

They are very eloquent, as you can see.

"It was an accident!" They exclaim at the same time, still as far away from each other as possible.

They can't even look at each other in the eye.

"I didn't mean to…" Ichigo says.

"I know! It just sorta happened." Rukia replies.

"Right!" He confirms.

"We were just there!"

"You're right!"

"Didn't mean anything."

"Of course not."

And they keep lying to each other but, most importantly, to themselves.

Because if we had any cameras (not saying they were in the room), we would see they had leaned down their faces at the exact same time.

But they don't need to know that.

Not yet at least.

As they try to ignore the gigantic elephant in the room, they decide it's bedtime.

And that's how the day ends.

With blushing and profusely apologizing to each other and a shit ton of denial, before calling it a night.

But once they go to sleep, each one laying on their bed, they can't help but imagine the scene once more.

It was an accident, they swear!

Definitely an accident!

Yet, as they close their eyes, they can't help but smile.

And, as they touch their lips with their fingers, they have but one thought.

Maybe it wasn't so bad after all.

A/N: So we have here some Kurosaki Family Shenanigans. Man, I love writing those! It's always so fun! And yeah, this is a pivotal moment in their relationship even when it was funny. But, I mean, aren't you guys fans of accidental kisses? Because I'm a sucker for those and the awkwardness that ensues. This is still early on in their new relationship, so that's why they're deep in denial about a physical relationship, which is kinda funny when you consider that they've already said and understood that they always want to be together. Admiting they will live together forever? Can do. Pecking each other on the lips? It's suddenly the end of the world. But they did enjoy it lol.

So this is the start of the physical aspect of their relationship, but I don't want it to be more important than other factors of their relationship. It's just an added bonus so it won't feature in all of the one-shots. Hope you guys understand.

Anyway, hope you liked it!

See ya!
