When I arrive at breakfast, I find Lily sitting alone, finishing up. That's… odd. When she's not with me, she's usually with James.
I drop into the seat across from her. "Where's your sidekick?"
Lily sighs. "Sirius found out James and I are planning to live together." She waves her hand towards the Entrance Hall. "James is out there talking to him."
I groan. "Of course."
Sirius Black. Ugh.
He does some nasty stuff to the Slytherins. Whatever, I don't care. That's Lily's high horse.
What I mind is what he's doing to Lily. How unwelcoming he's being and how hard it's been for her.
Honestly at this point I'm not thrilled about James either - it's high time he stuck up for Lily, told Black to knock it off.
I'm not about to pick that battle with her though, not when Lily won't even listen to me about Black.
"So what's on for the day?"
She rolls her eyes. "Revising. What else, these days?"
I grin. "Come on, Lils, there are things in life besides revising."
She laughs. "Nope! Not for the next month."
"Fine, fine. The library, then? Let me just finish my food first; you got a head start."
